2024 S60 T8 Use Case Question
I’m considering a 2024 S60 T8 and I’d appreciate some feedback from the group based on my daily commute.
Two facts about my usage: I drive 44 miles round trip daily and I wouldn’t necessarily plan to charge every day, so I know I’ll spend a lot of time in hybrid mode. I may charge every other day if possible, maybe even less. I have a garage but we rotate which car parks inside.
My questions: How quickly does hybrid mode deplete battery? When accelerating slowly, what speed can the car reach in hybrid mode before the engine kicks on?
My hopes: My commute has a few miles of 35mph speed limits at the start and end, with 55mph in the middle 16ish miles. Would it be reasonable to hope that I could use hybrid mode and keep the electric motor on in the 35mph stretches? Does hybrid mode even work in a way that uses the electric motor at low speeds before switching to gas at higher speeds? What’s the general changeover point?
