Delete this if it's not allowed but I figured I'd share to help some people out who need some extra cash. I did a few of these sign up promos I found scattered around Reddit over the past week to get some extra cash sorted before a couple birthdays and they all paid out without issues. Thought I’d write them up properly and share, because I know a lot of people are trying to stretch their budget at the moment.

ING - $100

ING are currently offering $100 if you sign up before May 31. This one's the best offer to do if you have the money to take advantage of it. Here are the steps:

  1. Sign up using this link
  2. Deposit $1000 (you can transfer it back later)
  3. Make 5 card purchases (Split one grocery shop into 5 payments if you want)
  4. Open a Savings Maximiser and deposit $1

ING then sends $100 straight into your account. This one took me less than 10 minutes to set up. The longest part is waiting for the card and the transactions to settle.

MyPayNow - $47.33

This company offers pay advances without credit checks so it doesn't effect your credit rating. If the name sounds familiar you might have seen them on the Gold Coast Titans jerseys this season as they're one of their main sponsors. This month they're offering $50 to anyone who signs up and takes out a wage advance. Here's how you can take advantage of this offer:

  1. Download the MyPayNow app from the appstore and sign up. When signing up enter this code in the "Refer a friend code" section - RZXL-A9C5-EJ8Y
  2. Once you've signed up simply click "Get pay now" and choose the lowest amount which is $50. Click continue and accept all of the terms.
  3. Once your $50 wage advance has been processed you'll see that $50 show up in your bank account. Shortly after you'll receive an additional $50 bonus paid into the same bank.

Then you're done, easy as that! You've made $47.33 since there's a $2.67 fee when repaying the advance. You can then immediately repay the advance with your card and close the account if you want.

Wagepay - $45

Wagepay is another company that offers pay advances without credit checks so it doesn't effect your credit rating. This month they're also offering $50 to anyone who signs up and takes out a wage advance. Here's how you can take advantage of this offer:

  1. Download the Wagepay app from the appstore
  2. Sign up and enter this Invitation Code - VD4CPR
  3. Once you've signed up simply take out a wage advance and choose the lowest amount which is $100.
  4. Once your $100 wage advance has been processed you'll see that $100 show up in your bank account. Shortly after you'll receive an additional $50 bonus paid into the same bank.

Then you're done, easy as that! You've made $45 since there's a $5 fee when repaying the advance. You can then immediately repay the advance with your card and close the account if you want.

Ubank - $30

Ubank are currently offering $30 to anyone who signs up before the end of the month. This promotion requires less capital to do as well. To be eligible for this promotion simply do the following:

  1. Download the ubank app and sign up
  2. Use the invite code - 1VV4A6X
  3. Deposit $10 or whatever amount you need to make 5 purchases
  4. Use the digital card to make 5 purchases (you can even split a purchase into 5 transactions at the self checkout if you want)

And you're done! You'll get the $30 deposited into your account which you can use there or transfer away.

top 5 reasons the alumni green should be converted into a carpark

I really hope these 5 reasons can convince you as to why we should convert the alumni green into a carpark.

  1. More carpark - With more carpark, more cars can safely park close to UTS, meaning more of us can drive to UTS and not worry as much about getting a car park.

  2. In a rush - Sometimes we are in a rush for class, and with a carpark in the middle of campus, we can make sure we get to class on time. This would be a huge time saver for those times we are in a rush, and would as a result improve UTS education.

  3. Renovations - By getting rid of the alumni green, we no longer need to worry about Building 1 blocking the sunlight needed for the grass to be green. This means we can make Building 1 even taller, as it currently is a bit too small. This would then make potential for Building 1 to be a national landmark, and potentially the 8th wonder of the world.

  4. Removal of HS students - Everyone always says they’re sick of the HS students in our library. Well, with this new carpark we can accommodate for more ambulances, for when we have to physically remove these HS students ourselves, meaning more library for us UTS students.

  5. Dodgem car society - We can pave the way for dodgem car society, where we can crash and bump into other peoples cars, and have fun. The chancellor of UTS has agreed to use some of his enormous salary to pay for all vehicle damages, and this will also give us something to watch, or take part in when waiting for class to start.

I will be going out to the alumni green on the 12th of February at 11am with petitions for everyone to sign. Be there, or be square.

complaint about the bathroom sinks in building 11

i went to the bathroom in building 11 today after class to take a shit, and when i went to wash my hands i was lwk arching it just to use the sink. i’m not by any means “tall”, but these sinks were barely higher than toilet.

has no one else noticed this since they don’t wash their hands, or is this just uts encouraging us to piss in the sink to save water?

to be specific this was the male toilets on level 9 of building 11. i am very cranky, and this serves as my official complaint to uts headquarters.

Canvas is down, will we be getting extensions?

With canvas being down, we are all unable to access important information required to complete assessments, as well as not being able to submit any assessments.

Will we be receiving extensions on all our assignments for this?

Subject Coordinator reactions to Canvas are really telling.

The variance in reactions between subject coordinators is astounding. In one hand I have 21212 P&O with Troy sending everyone lists of reading materials, videos, and assessment outlines with rubrics.

And on the other hand, one subject coordinator (who will remain unnamed) who not only said that it’s my fault I and I should have requested the subject materials earlier in the semester, but that canvas being down was somehow my fault and an isolated issue. This hours was AFTER Kyle’s 2nd email by the way, and this issue had been all over international news.

horrible wam (law)

hey everyone,
i know it sounds stupid but i do need some advice.

I had a horrible first sem due to mental health. I got one D, and the rest of my subjects a scraped credits. For reference, i do double degree law and business.

For my law subjects specifically, i never participated and didn't put in the work, so I obviously did not do well. I got 68 for foundations and 67 for ethics.

This semester I really wanted to work harder, so I participated a lot more. This torts assignment I had a case note, so I tried as hard as I could because I did terrible in the last case note in foundations. I worked on the feedback, read the case thoroughly, studied a lot and put many hours towards it. Today I got my mark back and its the worst mark I have ever received. I'm so shocked that I took previous feedback and implemented changes only for my mark to get worse. Half the feedback I got was critiquing stuff I changed based on previous feedback, and its worth 30% of my grade and the final exam is 20 days away.

I really wanted a comeback because I want a paralegal job in my third year. I have browsed the jobs and most of them ask for a distinction wam and a transcript. I'm just really upset because I have tried so hard all sem, and the progress has shown in my business subjects because im averaging D to HD in all of them this sem. But for law, the degree that matters to me the most, I have just gone completely backwards.

Does anyone have any advice on how to improve or how much my wam matters. I am really disheartened by this because this will now be the third law subject I have done terrible in

Lots of noodles but no hot water

What's the point of selling bowls of noodles when you're not going to have hot water dispensers next to the machines that sell them. I've only found two places in the whole campus that provide hot water but every vending machine sells noodles. The hot water to noodle ratio is out of wack

Please check your email before contacting your coordinator

Hi everyone - I know we’re all quite stressed out.

Many coordinators emailed students late Friday or over the weekend with an update and a plan for what is going to happen in the coming week.

However, I’ve received a flood of emails today from my students that indicates they didn’t even check to look for previous instructions before emailing asking what is happening with assignments and quizzes.

Please check to see if you’ve received something before you contact us 🙏

Yura Mudang Semester 2.

Hey Guys,

I am starting in semester 2, I live like 600km from Syd so would really like to get into the accomodation. In the last 2 months I have received 2 emails saying a soon opened up but they need in filled ASAP (like a week or so), do more rooms open up around semester 2 (like reliably) because I want to move around July, or should I expect the worse and find somewhere else.

Also is there anyone who is leaving Semester 2 with a studio room? I would really appreciate it if I could take it next ( I think you can do that ).
