Every facial SPF 50 that I have tried, pills unless I use a tiny amount, which is obviously pointless.

Hello everyone, I’ve suffered from skin like this for a while now and it’s come and gone over the years, but for a long time now it has remained (except when travelling in central Asia and China during the winter where it almost fully recovered)
I use no7 sensitive face wash and CeraVe moisturising lotion for dry skin twice a day (I pat dry with facial tissues and change my pillow cover every few days), and when my skin is really bad I sleep with sudocrem on to ease the redness.
When I shave I use a sensitive shaving cream and have tried various shaving methods but I seem to get a bad reaction, even if I wait for a longer time between shaves, my skin still has this problem the reaction still happens.
I’ve been to the GP previously but what they’ve prescribed to me hasn’t helped much if at all, usually I just carry on with life but I’m planning to get married in September so would like to good in pictures.
Any advice and methods would be greatly appreciated, thank you
What are people’s opinions of palmers cocoa butter? I’ve been using it for years and I think it’s amazing. It’s been fantastic for my dry and sensitive skin and it’s been great for my eczema. I love how the consistency is quite thick but it’s not greasy and absorbs really well. However, I’ve recommended it to quite a few people and they don’t seem that impressed.
Hey all.
My son is 12 and he’s starting to get a little spotty. Today he had a pretty big whitehead on his nose. He didn’t seem to care which is great and he hasn’t picked or popped it. Phew.
But now it’s got me thinking I should get him some face wash, moisturiser etc. Up until now he usually just washes his face with water and a wash cloth. I wasn’t really taught about this kind of stuff in my teens so I’m a bit lost about what is suitable or gentle enough for kids skin.
I did some googling for kid friendly skincare and saw this stuff. Is this brand any good? I was thinking the face wash and moisturiser. Or maybe I should just get something like cerave?
Can I get him a moisturiser that has SPF? I don’t want to add too many things to start with because it’s already a battle to get him to wash his face and brush his teeth.
Any recommendations would be great! Thank you ❤️
Ugh, my legs are bothering me! Not sure if it's KP or not...
I exfoliate a 2-3 times a week with an exfoliator and moisturise every day. I've been using TO's Glycolic acid every day too and nothing 🫣
Hi everyone, I know this isn’t strictly a skincare question, but I think it’s kind of related.
Since moving to the UK, I’ve noticed my hair and skin have become much drier than usual. I recently found out that the water here is quite hard and after checking my area online, it looks like I’m in a very hard water zone.
I’m currently renting, so I can’t install anything permanent. I’ve been looking into options like the Hello Klean shower filter but I’m not sure if they actually make a noticeable difference. It’s also a bit spenny.
Has anyone here tried shower filters? Did they help with dry skin or hair? I’d really appreciate any recommendations or advice, especially renter-friendly solutions.
Thanks so much!
Morning, ice my face wash with water moisturise, sunscreen.
Night cleanser, moisturise, tret, moisturise.
Tret only used every other day when not using it I use a benzyl peroxide face wash.
I'm dealing with this right now, and it's hard to understand.
I've been taking Tretinoin for a long time. It worked well before, but now my skin looks dreary instead of bright.
What I do every day:
AM: Cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen
PM: Cleanser, Tretinoin, and Moisturizer
I'm now curious:
1.Am I using it too much by putting it on every day?
2.Should I cut back and put more effort into repairing my barrier and staying hydrated?
3.Should I get rid of additional actives and keep things simple?
I'm not sure if it's too much use or if something is missing. What worked for you?
I have this red patch on my chin which sometimes breaks out but often is just a flat red area. I used to suffer with acne so a couple of the red dots on my cheeks are scars from then I think. Is this still just active acne but only in one area?! I use Superdrug's tea tree foaming face wash morning and night and Palmers cocoa butter as a moisturiser. Thank you in advance!!
My local Superdrug doesn’t have the normal version only the men’s, I’m just wondering if this is the same thing?
does anyone actually reapply spf every 2 hours realistically?
genuine question because i feel like social media makes it seem like everyone is perfectly reapplying sunscreen every 2 hours all day every day and i honestly cannot imagine how people realistically keep up with that. especially if youre wearing makeup commuting working being outside for normal amounts of time or just trying to live life without constantly thinking about sunscreen. i apply spf every morning and i do take skin protection seriously but once im out of the house reapplying becomes so much harder than people online make it sound. like if im wearing makeup am i supposed to put sunscreen over everything multiple times a day without ruining it. and even without makeup i still forget sometimes because life just gets busy
then i see people online acting like if you dont reapply perfectly every 2 hours youre basically destroying your skin and it honestly starts making me overthink the whole thing. so now im curious how people actually handle this realistically in daily life. do most people genuinely reapply that often or is morning sunscreen usually enough unless youre spending hours directly in the sun?
36F, no medication.
Started developing oily skin randomly and have never ever been oily or acne prone. My make up and skincare routine was all the same. Nothing changed.
Now I’ve tried Cerave, la Roche posay and now I’m on neutregena hydro range,
Cleanser then serum and then the gel based moisturiser.
I’m now going to start using the ordinary.
Can someone tell me if they’ve had this randomly later in life and got it under control ?? Make up just slides off my face!
I miss my dry face :(
I feel like my skin actually looked better back when I had a super basic routine. The more products I add, the more irritated and textured my skin seems to get. At first I thought I just needed to “push through” while my skin adjusted but now I honestly cannot tell if I am helping my skin or making it worse
Right now my routine is not even that extreme but my skin feels drier more sensitive and somehow less balanced than before. I keep seeing people online with these huge routines and amazing skin so I am wondering if maybe I am just using the wrong products or if my skin simply does better with less. Did anyone else realize their skin preferred a simpler routine?
Not sure if right place but I (M 30)have a problem with blackheads and when I’ve tried using blackhead removal strips before I may have left them on too long and now it seems to have permanently damaged my skin on my nose as well ? I washed my face and it started bleeding straight away ? I don’t know what to do ? Does anyone have any suggestions? I’ve been putting antiseptic cream on the cut to heal it but I want to wash my face regularly but can’t do that if it means I’m going to have a massive cut on my nose because of it ?
It's occasionally available in Lidl and I love it - is this a dupe of another product, that I could try?
Apart from polys, what would be the next best thing? Would mid face/cheek filler work by pushing up from beneath the eye area, what would people suggest if I end up bottling it?
I’ve seen this brand recently in boots and Superdrug and I’m quite interested. Has anyone tried anything from this range yet?
okay so this is specifically for uk people bc i think the british weather creates some very specific skin problems that general skincare advice doesnt address properly.
the central heating situation is genuinley serious uk homes in winter run central heating that absolutely destroys indoor humidity levels, ur skin is being dehydrated from the inside of ur house all winter and most people do not account for this, a humidifier in ur bedroom is genuinley one of the best things u can do for ur skin from november to march
the hard water issue is real in most of england hard water leaves mineral deposits on the skin that can disrupt the skin barrier over time, if ur in london or the southeast and ur skin is reactive and sensitive the water is probably a significant contributing factor, a filter shower head genuinley helps
uv still matters even in winter in the uk this is the one i see people dismiss most often, yes it is grey and rainy and depressing, the uva rays that cause ageing and pigmentation still penetrate cloud cover and still hit ur skin every single day, spf in december matters as much as spf in july for skin ageing purposes
the cold wind barrier damage is real going from cold wind outside to central heating inside repeatedly throughout winter is genuinley harsh on the skin barrier, a slightly richer moisturiser in winter is not vanity its just practical
the lack of sunlight affects skin differently than the lack of uv low light in winter can make skin look dull and grey bc of reduced circulation and vitamin d, getting outside even on overcast days genuinley helps
anyone else feel like their skin completely changes personality between summer and winter?
Recently started using skincare products. I’ve just come to the end of my No7 Hot Cloth Cleanser and, whilst I liked it, I thought it could be interesting/fun to try another one. I’m mostly interested to see if I can tell the different between product results
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had any product recs for hot cloth cleansers? And ideally comparisons between the no7 one and anything you guys suggest
Thanks!
