"I always had a thing for you, Sid!"

Oh please don't mind the pen. It has nothing to do with those sketches. I don't even have the right ink for it, lol. I draw with those cheap Chinese ones because... welp... they're cheap? Btw I absolutely adore Mathew Lillard I feel like he's super cool to be around. I wonder how he would react to this drawing. And Neve? She's the queen!

Kirby Reed has the saddest post-survival story in the franchise

Kirby’s always stood out to me because her story feels way more alone than everyone else’s. Every other survivor has somebody. Sidney had Dewey, Dewey and Gale had each other, and the Core Four all have their own little support system. Kirby doesn’t really have anyone, at least not that we ever see. After Scream 4, it just feels like she had to deal with all of that by herself and we never get to see what that actually did to her.

That’s why I like her. She didn’t just survive and move on with people around her, she had to figure it out on her own. So when she shows up in 6, even if the writing isn’t amazing, I still like seeing her with Sam and Tara because it finally feels like she has people who understand what she went through.

And honestly, her situation in 4 is messed up when you think about it. The guy she likes turns out to be a killer, basically her version of Billy, and her best friend is the one behind everything and trying to have her killed. That’s just betrayal on every level.

The Gale thing doesn’t really work for me either. It feels kind of random, like Gale just has an issue with her for no real reason. Kirby hasn’t done anything, so it comes off more like Gale being territorial than anything that actually makes sense.

Kirby being the final girl of the 2011 Woodsboro murders should matter more than it does. Her story is actually one of the darker ones, but the movies barely do anything with it, which is probably why it sticks out so much.

30 years later and still nobody can top his energy. stu macher was a different breed of crazy.

matthew lillard’s ad-libs and his facial expressions were just on another level. even after all the sequels and the new cast, nobody feels as unhinged and dangerous as he did. he wasn't doing it for a movie or for fame, he was just having the time of his life.

I know a lot of people think the opening of 4 has too many fake-outs that killed tension and made characters lack emotional weight but honestly, I still love it. If it's intentionally satirizing endless sequels and lazy franchise milking, why does it get so much hate for doing exactly that?

So I just finished re-watching the entire franchise (1-7) and I have some thoughts about Scream 4 that I would like to share …

Firstly, I enjoyed this movie a lot more (while watching all the movies collectively) than I did when I last watched it (it had been awhile.) I appreciate it for what it is a lot more now

It’s the unique one of the bunch to me for a couple reasons. First being the fact that it feels somewhat disconnected from the movie that proceeded it and the movie that followed it … adding a “stand-alone” quality to it that none of the other movies really have imo. Even though it’s technically a sequel to Scream 3 it does not go out of its way to reference the events of that film at all. The 11 year gap also adds to the disconnect. Funny because Scream (2022) feels disconnected from Scream 4 for the exact same reason (exact number of years between the gap included.)

Scream & Scream 2 always felt like a proper double feature to me . Scream 3 (despite the shift) felt like a direct follow up to Scream 2. They were all made within the same era and with the same style.

Then Scream 4 comes 11 year later. Naturally different and more modern feel and look (times had changed and we were in the remake era of horror.) It did not get an immediate follow up

Scream (2022) comes 11 years after Scream 4 and then it is immediately followed up by Scream VI with the same leading characters so they also feel like a double feature when watching them back to back. Scream 7 is sorta like the Scream 3 amongst the three because despite the shift it is made in almost the same style as Scream 5 & Scream VI. But naturally Scream 8 will probably feel more tied to Scream 7 than Scream 7 does to 5/VI assuming they keep the focus on Sidney, Tatum and Mark .

The filter also makes it unique (I know a lot of people hate it.)

Tori ruined Stab

Watching Scream 2, and Tori Spelling is being interviewed about her new movie Stab. I never realized, she spoils the entire movie during the interview by saying she plays a woman who finds out her bf is a serial killer who killed her mom a year before.

Gail's Scream

She's got a great scream and a great screaming face.

Feels like that's something that's been missing lately.

Am I the only one who feels like the newer Scream movies are trying to juggle too many characters?

Am I the only one who feels like the newer Scream movies are trying to juggle too many characters?

I don’t think the new writers are bad, but it kinda feels like the bigger cast makes it harder to really develop anyone. Like back when Kevin Williamson was writing, the characters and the mystery both felt tighter. but he was a pro at that and maybe these new ppl aren’t.

Do you think it’s a writing issue, or just too many people to focus on? Would a smaller cast make it better? or would that defeat the purpose of a whodunit?

A Las Vegas Scream Movie?

How would you feel about a Las Vegas Scream Movie?

It doesn't have to be Scream 8, but maybe a future film installment down the road. We've had both Los Angeles & New York setting films. I think if the setting is Las Vegas, they could do & explore so much.

Just imagine a Chase Scene on the Vegas Strip, Ghostface appearing in a Casino during an attack sequence, or a Ghostface phone call from one of the Hotels it just would be a lot of fun.

Would you be cool a Las Vegas Scream film later down the road? Do you believe it could work?

My problem with “matching wounds”

When they both looked at each other and Dewey took off running down the hall I was always so confused as I always thought it could’ve been easily been explained away as Trevor telling jill “that’s where I stabbed that Gale weathers too” as he stabbed her in the shoulder, was odd that was the “lightbulb moment” if anything should’ve been suspicious is would’ve been the tape by Trevor

Red herrings

Who are some characters introduced for no other reason than to be a red herring? They have nothing to do with story or plot, and if they were removed it would make no difference to the story, but were there to make the audience think for a second they were the killer.

Scream 2: the two soroity girls played by Rebecca Gayheart and Portia de Rossi. After Sid is attacked at their soroity party (after Cici is killed), the two of them are standing outside where GF escaped. It seemed, at the time, they were meant to be suspects for a hot second.

honestly roman bridger is the most underrated mastermind in the whole franchise.. he literally started everything and did it all by himself. change my mind

people always talk about billy or jill but roman literally orchestrated the original murders and managed to pull off a solo spree without a partner to help him. his kill count is insane and he actually had the most legit reason to be mad at sidney. i feel like scream 3 gets too much hate but roman was a beast as ghostface. what do u guys think?

Do you think Kirby has stopped any other attempted Ghostfaces?

In Scream 6, Kirby says she takes a special interest in Ghostface cases. While this could be and probably is just a cheeky joke about how she survived one herself, do you think she's ever managed to shut down an attempted Ghostface duo before they could carry their crimes?

For all we know in universe there's other people who tried to carry out copycat attacks on people in their own lives unrelated to Sidney, so I'm not saying it was people going after her or any big plans, but more amateurs like Jason and Greg.

My ideas for a Scream 8

Here are some ideas of Scream 8…in my opinions

  1. A Sidney and Tatum Evans continuation. The film can follow after events of Scream 7. Tatum could be the main protagonist with Sidney being a secondary protagonist. But pleaseee no college setting. That has been done enough.

  2. Kirby Reed story. I would love to see a Kirby lead film which follows the police and FBI. We have never seen that in a Scream film. The police have always been in the background and not a main focus. It would be nice to have Kirby and the police force be the main focus and them tracking down “Ghostface”. After all, Kirby “takes a special interest in Ghostface attacks”.

  3. A Gale Weathers story. I know Gale has been in every film. However, she had never been the main protagonist or target. I guess you could argue Scream 3, but she wasnt a target or the main point. I think her and her writing books about all the murders could tie into a storyline that could focus on her being targeted. This could also bring in Chad & Mindy who are working with her now and also could bring in Sidney

  4. A whole new cast and characters? I know this is risky because we love our legacy characters. I know it would be hard to do. However, this is probably the only franchise that could become an anthology since “Ghostface” could be anyone and we could always see a new protagonist and a new setting

I left out at a Sam Carpenter and Tara Carpenter continuity because i doubt Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega would ever return considering the behind the scenes controversy.

Ghost face

Although I have my favourite ghost face unmaskings, I actually prefer ghost face as a stand alone character, I love how the stunt doubles play him in the mask and how much more intimidating and even clumsy he is just as ghost face before we know who's under there and why. When I watch any scream movie again I weirdly enjoy just seeing ghost face his own character without attributing him to the character under it, I sometimes feel it becomes underwhelming once the mystery of who it is is revealed.
