Kirby Reed has the saddest post-survival story in the franchise

Kirby’s always stood out to me because her story feels way more alone than everyone else’s. Every other survivor has somebody. Sidney had Dewey, Dewey and Gale had each other, and the Core Four all have their own little support system. Kirby doesn’t really have anyone, at least not that we ever see. After Scream 4, it just feels like she had to deal with all of that by herself and we never get to see what that actually did to her.

That’s why I like her. She didn’t just survive and move on with people around her, she had to figure it out on her own. So when she shows up in 6, even if the writing isn’t amazing, I still like seeing her with Sam and Tara because it finally feels like she has people who understand what she went through.

And honestly, her situation in 4 is messed up when you think about it. The guy she likes turns out to be a killer, basically her version of Billy, and her best friend is the one behind everything and trying to have her killed. That’s just betrayal on every level.

The Gale thing doesn’t really work for me either. It feels kind of random, like Gale just has an issue with her for no real reason. Kirby hasn’t done anything, so it comes off more like Gale being territorial than anything that actually makes sense.

Kirby being the final girl of the 2011 Woodsboro murders should matter more than it does. Her story is actually one of the darker ones, but the movies barely do anything with it, which is probably why it sticks out so much.

I never understood why they brought back Lonnie instead of Richie in Halloween Kills

One of Michaels most famous scenes is him bunping into Richie then he stalked Tommy

So why not bring back Richie? him having trauma after running into Michael would make more sense than inventing a new scene to explain Lonnies existence in Kills

What is your favorite piece of BuffyVerse trivia?

Mine:

  • Sarah Michelle Gellar auditioning for Cordelia while Charisma Carpenter auditioned for Buffy

SMG could play Cordelia no doubt about it but I wonder how Charisma could play Buffy?

Why did the First need Spike and Andrew if he had Caleb killing girls?

I love Caleb as a character and Nathan Fillion as an actor but it was always strange to me that The First had Caleb working for her this whole time blowing up the Watchers Council while still needing the Chaka Khan Vampiers and the Bringers, if you had Caleb killing girls already why need the monsters?

Also did Caleb trying to kill Faith in prison his own doing or did the First off screen order him to do it?

Joan and Ellis feeding each other while fat was a disgusting scene

I get that it was for a comedy but one scene that really makes me sick to my stomach is at the end of s3 episode 10 when Ellis rated Joan a 5 and a half, both of them have a nightmare of them feeding each other while fat and i literally throw up in my mouth each rewatch when I get to that episode.

This is a picky thing to nitpick about but why does it seem like the Buffy DVDs have better special features than Angel DVDs?

I have all 12 seasons of the BuffyVerse on DVD and I never watched the special features before but I recently watched the special features for both shows and it seems like BTVS has better extras. It has stuff like Buffyism (talking about the dialogue of the show), and there are featurettes talking about each season.

And each season has audio commentaries, but with Angel I feel like I didn't see much of that stuff even the dvd menus for Buffy were fantastic especially the ones for season 2 where it was a virtual tour of the Sunnydale cemetary, I didn't get that with Angel. Almost like the DVDs for Angel were treated as an afterthought.

The menus for Buffy had scores from different episodes but the dvd menus for Angel just had the theme song and a photo of a cast member.

Again I know this is a very stupid thing to pick at but it's something that I've always wondered why on DVD; Angel wasn't given the same type of special features Buffy got.

Is "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" important to you and your life or is it just another beloved show for you?

I've been watching this show since 2001 when the show moved to the UPN with it's sixth season; I taped every season six and seven episode and then watched the reruns on FX in the 2000s, Willow and Tara were the very first gay couple I ever saw in my life and as a gay kid during the show's airing they meant a lot to me.

Halloween: Season of the Witch has become really overrated in the past decade

For years, everyone pretty much wrote off Halloween III. Fans hated that Michael Myers was nowhere to be found, and most folks just left it out when talking about the whole series.

But lately? It’s totally flipped. Especially in the last ten years, people started calling it underrated some even say it’s better than most of the sequels. That’s a pretty big turnaround.

I get why people changed their minds. If you let go of expecting Michael Myers and watch the movie for what it is, it’s actually got a cool idea and a lot of creativity. Plus, after slogging through some of the messier sequels, Halloween III just feels different in a good way.

Still, I feel like now folks go too far hyping it up. Instead of seeing it as a solid, unusual chapter in the series, a lot of people act like it’s some misunderstood masterpiece. It comes across like everyone’s trying so hard to fix how much it got slammed in the past, they end up overrating it instead of just giving it fair credit.

Anyone else love the season 8 comics?

I know that the first season of the comics are whacky as hell but that's what I love about season 8 is because Whedon & Co. no longer had to worry about budget, an actors schedule and was just able to use his imagination and a pencil.

I lowkey liked seeing Buffy in places like >!Scotland!<

Are you a slasher fan or just a Halloween/Michael fan?

My love for the slasher genre began when I saw the first two Scream movies on VHS in 98 and then that same year I saw Halloween II on vhs
