Wonder why there is a shortage in lexus is500s in Canada?

Bunch of dealers are buying them for peanuts and sending them to the us, where they sell it for 20-30 k profit, in Canada its a hard car to sell but in the states they fly, don't sell your is500 in Canada for peanuts to money hungry dealers, instead find a buyer from the states, you will get offered 60 k - 70 k usd which is like 80-93k canadian. Ur welcome

Just got the confirmation that my 2025 Lexus IS500 was selected for the Miami event. Anyone else going to be there on August 29th? Super excited!

Currently the only things I've done to the car are:
- Ceramic tint
- TOM'S Super Ram II Air Filter
- FCK Carbon Fiber Mudguards
- Radio Receiver Knob (to match the drive select dial)

Going to be installed soon:
- GT Haus Midpipe
- Swift Spec-R Springs
- Bonoss Wheel Spacers (15mm front / 20mm rear)
- FIGS front bushings
- Tuxmat All Weather Floor and Trunk mats

What all have you done so far, if any mods?

Rattle noise in door from playing music?

Hello everyone! This is my first post here on Reddit. I have a 2025 Lexus IS 500, fully loaded with the Mark Levinson stereo package. When listening to music both low and high volume, there is a rattle coming from the door, which is super annoying. I took it to Lexus today, See the video I posted from the technician, they’re saying it’s the automatic window mechanism making the noise and there’s no way to fix this. I wanted to know if anybody else has this issue and if they have found a fix for it as its wicked annoying and it seems a bit ridiculous that I paid extra money for a specialty stereo system that rattles the door. Thanks in advance!

Smart Access Card Key

Beyond the limited edition Flare Yellow model of the IS 500 FSPP, can anyone confirm whether or not the smart Access card key works for the other 2025 models?

DIY “Fix” for IS 500 Ultimate Edition Spare Hump

For those with the Ultimate Edition, yall know there’s a hump in the trunk for the larger spare to accommodate the larger brakes.

I saw a thread on club Lexus about an aftermarket spare, but I’m gonna risk it with no spare for a while.

Materials: 1 sheet of hardboard + jigsaw + 2 pieces of foam.

I traced the spare tire cover and cut it out with a jigsaw. Placed two pieces of foam to support the board. Fits nice and neat!

And since I already had the all weather trunk mat, I didn’t need to match the carpet color.

Now I have full trunk space again for those Costco runs!

I made a post in the FB group looking for used exhaust in Canada. Someone messaged me to save money and go with Alibaba.

I am not into that personally and don't mind paying for quality. I know in the BMW world a lot of guys order from them. Apparently valvetronic started out by drop shipping them.

Curious what others think.

Hello there! Was wondering which motor oil you guys use for oil changes. I’m debating whether to go with Mobil 1 ESP or Extended Performance.

Need help routing wires to interior fuse box

I am doing an underglow kit install on my 23’ IS500 and I can’t figure out more to route the power and ground wires from under the car into the driver side interior where I have the wiretap ready to go.

Does anyone have a video or anything I can use for reference? I don’t even know if I need to take the undercarriage covers off

2024 Ultrasonic Blue with red interior a.k.a Superman car. Got this in November with less than 10k on it and have been looking forward to driving it this summer. Got new front tires and updated the transmission software. PPF'd and ceramic coated. The ass end of this car looks especially pretty!

Also, there's not a single is500 on sale in all of Canada.

I set a takeout container on the trunk a exile back and got some rice porridge on it. Now this stain refuses to come off. It feels flush to the touch and I can't get it off even after multiple washes. Would a clay bar help? Or would I have to push and repaint this shit?

Keep stock exhaust valves open?

I stumbled on this video for the lc 500 and it made me wonder if this was possible for the is 500!

Anyone know for sure? I’m about to crawl under to see if the IS 500 muffler has similar connections.

The exhaust cold start sounds so good but then within a few seconds, it gets really muffled and quiet.

Would be nice to keep it grumbling all the time.

I know the correct solution is just to get an aftermarket exhaust. That is on the agenda but this would be a nice stop gap in between.

IS500 A/C issues

I have a 2022 Is500 and I’ve not had any issues with it aside from this nagging A/C issue.

It started maybe 2023 but I noticed the AC stops blowing really cold air. It blows “cool” air, but not super cold.

I took it in to the dealer and they noticed the refrigerant was low so they filled it up. Back to normal, super cold air. Odd, I’ve never ever had to refill that stuff in any of my cars, let alone a 1.5 year old car.

Then another 9-12 months later, same thing. Take it back to the dealer, they keep the car a day or so. Notice there was some leak near the AC module. They repair/replace under warranty. Cool, back to normal.

Now again, same kinda issue, no cold air. Got another scheduled appointment this weekend for them to check stuff again.

Not sure what the issue may be aside from maybe another leak or something.

Has anyone else had any AC issues?

TLDR: AC on the car has been going out consistently every 9-12 months. Dealer had filled refrigerant and replaced a leaky module but issue persists.

As far as I know RSA (Road Sign Assist) has always been part of LSS 2.5+ which these cars come with. I have the IS500 2025 UE, but for the love of god I can't find RSA anywhere in the vehicle settings, does anyone know or can check if they have this setting available? (Canadian Market, but would appreciate if anyone, any year and model can help with this.)

Hi everyone, 2022 is500 80k miles.

Recently had my coolant flushed, transmission fluid drain and fill, and rear differential drain and fill.

I can’t tell if this fluid is to low on the refill. Photos were taking after the car sat on even ground for 12 hours.

The manual says if it is below LOW line to fill to the max line while cold.

I can see the max line but not the cold line.

I had this done at a Toyota dealership.

I called a Lexus dealer but the service advisor said he recommended not changing out the life long trans fluid because there are metal shavings in it from when it first starts to operate and they settle in. Draining the fluid will drain the metal shavings and the transmission will create new metal shavings and that could create a problem.

Sees comical to me, I don’t buy the life long fluid a mantra.
