Pulled the trigger on this 13 Lexus GS 350 awd

What do yall think? Good purchase? 99,500k miles. Paid $8450. Service records from beginning to current

I genuinely love this car, it drives like a dream and has some wicked speed, I may add CarPlay but other than that I’m definitely team Lexus/toyota now

Ps. I cleaned her up real nice, the bugs are gone from the grill

Seat issues

Anyone else find the lumbar support too low down ? I find seats uncomfortable . I have the car a year and I'm selling due to this and i just find the car boring to drive it's 2013 gs450h .

What is causing cabin shifting/creaking noises on uneven surfaces?

My driveway has about a 15–20% incline, and when I pull in or out(unless going very slowly), I notice a shifting or settling noise coming from inside the cabin — I can hear it, but not feel it, if that makes sense. I'm having trouble pinpointing the source. Could it be the sunroof area, trunk, or somewhere else in the body?

No other known issues with the car. 2013 GS350 F Sport. The car is stock, other than aftermarket wheels. Has anyone experienced this?🥲

Highway MPG

This was my gas mileage on about a 50 mile highway drive after filling up. I was cruising at 65-70 mph for the first half and about 75-80 for the last half of the drive too. Crazy how good it can do if there’s no stop and go traffic. Don’t worry though, as soon as I got onto regular city driving, that MPG dropped like a brick 🧱 😂

I've been searching for a well maintained, 100k+ mile, 2013+ F Sport AWD with a good maintence history, no structural damage, and in good working order under $20K for a few months. Carmax and Carvana are overpriced. And I've been unlucky with the few that have popped up local to me. (Almost scored one, but the dealer took two deposits... I was late by a few hours)

Test drove both, really liked them and can’t decide. Definitely like GS interior more but am not sold. And is the f sport model worth the extra price?

Those who have experienced them, what do yall think?

Also open to look at other cars in the same realm. Lmk

From what I've gathered, the staggered wheels, better brakes, and AVS does not make a noticeable difference and isn't worth the increased maintenance cost. I'm looking for opinions on if this is true, from someone who has driven both.

Also, I really prefer the looks of the pre-facelift version of the 4th gen. Is there anything major I would be missing out on, for 2016+ years?

I've found a 2016 F-Sport for 25k with 90k miles on it, but again, I prefer the looks of the 2013-2015 years

I was considering both the GS 350 and the 2018-2020 Acura TLX V6 A Spec Sh-AWD, and the rod recall and increased cost of maintenance for the AWD is making me reconsider. Plus, I love the looks of both, but the 2013-2015 GS 350 is stunning to me.

I plan on buying a car next week and have two options that i’m between. option A is a 2018 lexus es 350 luxury w/ wood trim at 88k miles. option B is a 2016 lexus gs 350 F sport with 111k miles. i know the obvious things like the es has better mpg and the f sport will have a more performance tuned ride but im hoping to hear more in depth pros and cons and knowledge from owners or previous owners. i mainly drive long distance freeways and dont have anyone to put in the backseat. i will also be wrenching on either car myself so labor costs for jobs are less of a concern. thank you

I just bought a 2013 GS350 RWD with 164k miles two weeks ago. I’ve noticed that at stop lights there is a slightly noticeable vibration. This really only happens when it’s in Drive, but sometimes when I’m in reverse as well. It’s usually only when it’s under 1k RPM. Has anybody experienced this before as well?

I’m deciding between two GS 350 options and want some honest input, especially from people with experience owning or working on these cars.

Option 1: $17k • 2016 GS 350 F Sport • ~78k miles • Salvage title • CARFAX shows moderate damage + total loss (non-collision), front and rear damage, vehicle was towed • 1 owner, good service history

Option 2: 19k • 2015 GS 350 Crafted Line • ~99k miles • Clean title, 2 owners, good service history

I prefer the body style of the 2016 model. Also not the biggest fan of the red interior in the Crafted Line but I could deal with it.

Does a salvage GS 350 (with that type of damage history) realistically become a reliability risk over time, even if it’s been repaired well? Is the mileage difference even meaningful on these cars, or am I overvaluing that?

I’m trying to make a smart long-term decision, not just chase the “better deal” upfront.

Appreciate any real-world insight.

I have a 2015 GS350 F Sport and just replaced the battery. Right after that, the AC started blowing hot on one side. I scanned it and it’s throwing blend door actuator internal fault codes. I recently replaced the compressor and evaporator core, so I’m really not trying to tear the dash apart again unless I absolutely have to.

Has anyone dealt with this after a battery swap? Is there a way to reset or recalibrate the blend door actuators before replacing anything? I’ve seen some people mention pulling HVAC fuses or doing a relearn procedure.

A buddy also suggested bypassing the heater core since I’m in Arizona, but that feels more like a band-aid than a real fix. Any recommendations or experiences would help.

TLDR: it’s hot az ballz

My original shift know had the chrome peeling off the top, and was looking to replace it.. Stumbled upon the Punching Leather White and Blue Knob and thought it would attach to my stock shift boot.. I was wrong. The clips that attach the boot to the knob were different.. I did shitty research…

Later, I read online you could swap only the connectors on the boot going to the knob and make the RCF knob work with the GS boot, as the RCF Boot and Boot Bracket are different sizes from the GS. After seeing how nice the white and blue stitching looked on the RCF boot, I decided to give it a shot to try and make the RCF Boot work on the GS Boot Bracket.

What I noticed:
- The boot length (top to bottom) is the same.
- The bottom of the boot is wider for RCF along with the bracket being bigger.

What I did:
Remove the staples from both leather boots and brackets and mocked up the RCF boot on the GS bracket. It is obviously bigger and would require folding of one corner. Fortunately when doing this, it is not visible by the time the boot comes out of the console.

I tried to re use staples, but wasn’t able to get them back into plastic. I ended up using 3M double sided sticky tape to secure it, only as a mock up. I did wipe the bracket and the boot down with isopropyl alcohol first to improve adhesion. After I compressed for about 30 seconds each tape pad. Turns out it stuck better than I thought. I wanted to tack it with super glue in a few spots to help, but it would have needed to be done before putting the tape on, as it was too difficult to get back inside and underneath the boot once on the boot bracket, even with a toothpick.

After mock up back in the car, it shifted from park to semi auto downshift perfectly without tension or too much slack. We will see how it holds up, but I feel confident it will stay secured, along with the console brackets holding it in place tight. If I come across an upholstery stapler, I’ll go back and staple it, but don’t think I’ll go out of my way unless it visibly begins to slip, which is doubtful.

Tips:
- When lining up the bracket with the RCF boot, use the original placement of the bracket following the staple marks in the boot, to the GS boot bracket.
- Use your time with the console off to do extra cleaning in small cracks.. Carefully..
- Mock up back in the car before finalizing everything and ensure the boot isn’t tight when running through the gears or semi auto downshift.
- If you plan on tacking with glue, do it before each section of double sided sticky tape adhesion and work your way around the bracket. Also, make sure you clean the inside of the boot going around the boot bracket, and the bracket itself with isopropyl alcohol first!!
- If you have an upholstery staple gun, this would be ideal, I just didn’t have one and just wanted to finish the project.

Loving how it came out with the white and blue stitching. Didn’t want to replace with another chrome knob and have it peel again.. plus I like black better. This swap may not be for everyone, but I’m happy how it came out.. stay crafty.
