Advice on Lexus UX300h

Hi everyone! I recently got a new Lexus UX300h as a college grad gift from my parents. I’m incredibly grateful for their support. Since this is my first time owning a hybrid and a Lexus, I wanted to reach out and see if anyone has advice on maintenance or general upkeep of this car. The dealership gave me a general overview and I did some research beforehand because I knew I wanted a hybrid for better gas efficiency, but I’d love to hear any tips or insights from people with experience.

I love her so much - she’s everything I wanted in a car and I want to make sure she lasts me a VERY long time 🙏🏻

How do I find a 2020 GSF for sale?

I’m currently driving a 2017 GS350 AWD, I’ve always wanted to upgrade to the GSF but when I go online & search nationwide I can’t seem to find anything but 2016 versions, maybe 2017. I’m anxious that as we get to the end of the decade a lot of these cars will become more than 10 years old and I want to have the car that won’t be 10 years old until 2030. Everything else is either already 10 years old or will be next year. I know these things run forever but I truly want the most longevity and the maximum rareness.

I understand the production numbers of the GSF declined year after year so the newer models are much rarer. But I can’t accept that they’ve all sold. There’s GOT to be a way to buy one. Is there a platform where you can put offers on off-market cars? Or anything of the sort? I’m afraid I’ll never have the 2020 GSF

At this point I’m willing to sell a kidney just to get one. I can just buy another kidney later.

Guess and rate this car

Bonus points if you can guess the year

This is personally the car I’m looking to have for myself soon.

Looking for a reliable Lexus as a daily driver — which years should I target under $15k?

Hey everyone, looking for some advice on picking up a Lexus IS350 as a daily driver/beater.

I’m not looking for anything pristine — fully expecting to buy something with over 100k miles, just want something that’ll hold up long-term without any major headaches. Budget is under $15k.

I’ve been gravitating toward the IS350 specifically, but I’m not super familiar with which model years are the sweet spot and which ones to avoid. A few things I’m hoping to get some input on:

∙	Which years of the IS350 are considered the most reliable?

∙	Are there any known problem years or trims I should stay away from?

∙	Anything specific to look for (or watch out for) when inspecting one at this mileage range?

∙	Is the IS350 even the right call at this budget, or is there another Lexus model that makes more sense?

Open to other Lexus models too if there’s something that fits the bill better for a long-haul daily. Appreciate any advice.

So it has been brought to my attention the panels on the front of some IS350s don't line up. Checked, and mine don't

Wow. Poor UK! This is equivalent to $80,000! For an ES!

Heat?

2025 es300h. Had it almost a year. First Lexus.

So I dropped it off today for a 10k service, and got a loaner (NX). As I was driving it I noticed I was getting warm and there was heat blowing through the vents. Which made me realize that I don’t think my ES blows hot air through the vents. I know AC does. Is this normal? I also leave it on auto/climate concierge. The NX had the same set of features turned on.

I even set it to the same temperatures I normally do for mine, which is between 68-72. Noticed the difference with the heat blowing through the vents.

Should I mention something/ask for it to be looked at? Or is that normal?

IS 300h - 296 to 334mm brake rotors

I have 2015 IS 300h and would love to upgrade my rotors to 334mm - which F-sport seems to have (I currently have 296mm). Anyone ever done this? Will I have any problems with electronics (as on hybrids, brakes are electronically assisted in order to fluently switch from regenerative to disc braking)?

Need advice on my next car upgrade (RX350h) - Upgrading from a 2015 Highlander with a 2.0T 8AR-FTS engine.

Greetings my fellow Lexus owners!

I currently own a 2016 2.0T Toyota Highlander AWD (YES YOU READ THAT RIGHT A 2L TURBOCHARGED HIGHLANDER) in China.

The car's been great so far and despite many Lexus IS/NX200t owners reporting issues with the 8AR-FTS engine, I have never seen a check engine light on mine. I just do servicing at the regular 10,000kms as prescribed by GAC Toyota here and the other fluids like transmission, differential and etc at their normal intervals.

We've clocked about 107,000 kms since August 2016.

The main issues are:

  1. The car consumes too much fuel. I get around 14L/100km in City.
  2. Cosmetically, the car is ageing. The seats aren't as comfy and supportive as they used to be. Now my back hurts on longer drives. The interior panels rattle and squeak. The speakers sound distorted at louder volumes. Then there are scratches on the interior door panels and all that.

We bought the car for CNY ¥380,000 in 2016 including everything and now the car's resale value is like CNY ¥75,000. The new Highlander Hybrid (Top of the line trim) sells for ¥350,000 including all the bells and whistles and E-Four.

The thing is... the eCVT ain't as fun as the 6AT. Yes the savings are massive but yeah.
-I can't go for the 2.0T S20A engine option as that does not come with many features here.

My other options are the Lexus RX350h... But with that I pay too much of a premium and have to compromise on a lot of space. And same story applies here that the I can't go for the RX300 with the 2.0T S20A engine option as that does not come with many features here.

Then the Sienna Hybrid is massive and doesn't really give you the respect...
YES its super practical!
YES its amazing and comfortable!
But... people see you as a chauffeur in that car.

So really... I don't have many options. I do like the BMW X5 30Li, yes the B48 is reliable but the differentials on the X5 aren't.

I don't wanna go for the Chinese options because they're LITERALLY just tablets attached to a chassis with wheels. And to be honest, no one uses all those features that they offer on a daily basis.

The Cadillac XT6 is extremely unreliable. The Mercedes GLC is too small (comparatively) and I already own a 2024 BMW iX3 so no point getting a X3.

Another option is to restore my car completely. They'll properly clean the engine, install new gaskets and clean all cylinders. The car will get a fresh new coat of paint and better Nappa leather seats and obviously a better stereo system. A new Lexus Kit.
This will cost me about ¥35,000-¥40,000. BUT THE CAR'S RESALE VALUE IS ¥75,000 (due to large market shift towards PHEVs and EVs).

I really like the 2026 Lexus RX350h... but is it really worth it??

What should I do??

Buy new Lexus? Or other brand? - advice needed for new car purchase 2027

Graduated in 2019 and still driving a 2016 Civic my parents purchased for me. I want to be independent and was thinking of buying a new car (or slightly used car with low mileage) next year.

Any advice? Now that I am independent, have no debts, good job with good salary and promotion, thinking of getting a "luxury" car. I have been reading lot of posts here and elsewhere and they are warning me to not buy a new Audi/BMW/Mercedes saying maintenance is a huge pain and it's better to lease them.

What about a Lexus? Is that the same issue? Probably going to pay cash for the car, or take a loan but immediately pay it off ( I read you get discounts when you finance it as opposed to paying cash).

Tesla/EV is out of the picture. Fiance has one and it's a pain with constant charging and trying to find a Tesla supercharger.

But do you all agree with the sentiment towards German cars? Is a Lexus ok? Or ignore what they say and get the German car? I have always wanted an audi, its my favorite, but I don't want the stress and/or regret of maintenance or car being worthless after a few years.

LEXUS AND VISUAL ARTIST ALEX ALPERT UNVEIL CUSTOM LEXUS IS 350 AT EXPO CHICAGO

Press release: https://pressroom.lexus.com/lexus-and-visual-artist-alex-alpert-unveil-custom-lexus-is-350-at-expo-chicago/

Copy Pasta:

CHICAGO (April 6, 2026) – Bringing together design, craftsmanship and contemporary art, Lexus is debuting a one-of-a-kind custom Lexus IS 350 created in partnership with artist Alex Alpert at EXPO Chicago. The collaboration reimagines the IS 350 as a bold artistic expression, transforming the vehicle into a striking canvas for Alpert’s signature work.

EXPO Chicago marks the first activation in a year-long partnership between Lexus and Alpert. Throughout the year Alpert will appear at leading cultural and lifestyle events, including NYCxDesign and Art Basel, where he will create live custom-painted Lexus IS 350 hoods for audiences on site.

“With this collaboration, we wanted to reimagine the Lexus IS 350 as not just a performance sedan, but as a cultural expression of design and creativity,” said Sam Wintermyer, General Manager of Lexus Marketing. “Collaborating with Alex allowed us to reinterpret the vehicle through a bold artistic lens and create something that feels both distinctly Lexus and deeply connected to the world of contemporary art.”

Alpert’s signature line-art style brings the concept to life through hand-drawn-inspired graphics that trace the seams and contours of the vehicle. The effect visually flattens the car’s three-dimensional surfaces into a whimsical design inspired by car culture, craftsmanship, and lifestyle.

“I’m always interested in finding new spaces for art to exist,” said Alpert. “With Lexus, the vehicle becomes both canvas and platform – a way to bring the creative process directly into these cultural moments.”

The custom hood design will feature a series of symbolic illustrations that connect to Lexus brand values and Japanese heritage, including motifs representing Lexus’ elite and precise craftsmanship, hospitality, engineering precision, performance, and smooth driving. Together, these elements create a layered visual narrative that celebrates both the spirit of the Lexus IS 350 and the imagination behind its design.

Working with Alpert underscores Lexus’ vision for the IS 350 as an adaptable platform that can move fluidly across cultural spaces, from art and design to lifestyle experiences. Its debut at EXPO CHICAGO highlights the brand’s focus on creating meaningful intersections between luxury, creativity, and culture.

How to find paint trim color code?

I have a 2021 atomic silver IS 350. There are two noticeable scratches in the black trim of the front bumper lip and diffuser. How can I find the exact color code so I can try and touch them up to make them less noticeable? Is the trim the same color black as one of the other models?

I can’t find this anywhere online and would really appreciate the help.

To any sound engineers reading this…

Can we get a software update on our mark levinson systems for the ES? (2019-2025)

There is a significant amount of upper-mid level noise in the mark levinson system. And while I love the system and all, it could use the fine tuning boost. I have tuned my system to adjust the fader to -1 to the back, mids to -3, treble to +4 and base to +4, but I still think the system could use a little tuning. I believe the excessive sound mostly comes from the 8-9kHz range. It’s very noticeable in music with violins or artists who have high-frequency voices.

Also uploading a YouTube screenshot of the audio curve of the ES mark levinson system for reference.
