Hi folks, I've been tracking the Lucid (and Rivian) lease deals (incentives, money factor, RV%, %MSRP/mo) for a while now. With the mods' permission I'm happy to share all my current/historical data on drivejoule.com. You can check out the full lease tracker here for an easy comparison of lease terms/value across makes, models, trims, and months, with customizable incentives. Additionally, check out this month's Gravity leasing guide which contains its own mini April/May calculator.

Here are this month's highlights:

  1. Overall, Gravity lease deals are structurally worse this month because of a) shortening of the standard lease term from 39-months to 36 months, and b) the removal of Studio Select.
  2. The Gravity Touring lease terms are considerably improved from April. The money factor is significantly improved (0.00062, from 0.00094). Also improved is the RV% degradation with increasing options (52.5% > 51.1%, from 50.6% > 46.9%), meaning you are less punished for piling on options. However, these do not overcome the changes in #1 (1.08-1.20% MSRP/mo with conquest now, compared to 0.99-1.19% last month with conquest + studio select, base - fully optioned). But, if you were already eyeing a Gravity Touring that did not qualify for Studio Select, these actually lease better this month (1.08-1.20% vs 1.09-1.27% last month). If you are able to snag Studio Select this month, the Gravity Touring is a clear winner - even compared to April (0.97-1.15% MSRP/mo, conquest + studio select compared to 0.99-1.20% MSRP/mo, conquest + studio select).
  3. Conversely, it is not a good month to lease the Grand Touring. The Gravity Grand Touring lease terms are overall worsened from April. Money factor is significantly worsened, almost doubled from April (0.00108, from 0.00059). Minor improvements in RV% slightly help (53.7%, from 52.3%) but don't completely offset MF changes and #1 . Overall lease value is worse (1.16-1.23% MSRP/mo with conquest vs 0.97-1.05% in April with conquest+studio select).
  4. Consider waiting for Studio Select to reappear. Studio Select is a lease credit for local/regional inventory that often is removed at the start of a month and reappears around holidays, weekends, and mid/late month - sometimes under a different name (Earth Day, St. Patrick's Day, Level Up... sneaky Lucid). The avid dealhunter may want to wait for Studio Select to reappear, although a) at the expense of desirable inventory and b) at the risk of it not reappearing. Other general lease tips apply from my April post (qualifying for conquest, cashing out trade-in) and is also broken down on the Gravity leasing guide.
  5. In Lucid's terms, "stay tuned" for the Air lease breakdown, although preliminarily looks like overall leases are worse than last month, probably in large part due to #1.

Happy to answer any questions.

TL;DR: overall leases are worse compared to April; Gravity Touring is this month's pick; weigh the risks of waiting for Studio Select to reappear; Gravity Grand Touring fans may consider waiting for June (or kicking themselves for not following my April PSA!)

Buyout after lease?

Considering buying a Lucid Air Touring, would appreciate community thoughts

Currently leasing a 2023 Air Touring with ~17k miles. Fully loaded spec with an original MSRP north of $100k:
DreamDrive Pro
Surreal Sound Pro
Glass canopy
Basically every major option

Background: I’ve always leased cars and never actually owned one long term. I absolutely love the Lucid and honestly don’t see a major reason not to buy one (putting aside long-term company viability discussions for a moment).

Current offer is ~$45k out the door including sales tax. It was quoted at $43k last month, so I was hoping pricing would keep dropping a bit 😅

Upcoming Gravity Updates

@hmp10 on the LucidOwners forum had a conversation with Emad Dlala (Senior Vice President of Engineering and Digital at Lucid) today regarding Gravity software issues. See post below (copy/pasted from forum for visibility).

TLDR: Seems like Lucid introduced a new architecture to get Gravity tracking in the right direction, which has caused some short-term issues that should be fixed in the next couple of updates.

Also Including link below for reference.

"Okay, folks.

I just got a call from Emad Dlala (he was in the office on Mother's Day) that lasted well over an hour. He said he is fine with my posting about the call, so here goes . . . .

Between the 3.4 series of updates and 3.5.1 Lucid switched to a different architectural platform. This was necessary because of technical problems with the old platform (as a Luddite I couldn't quite follow all the ins and outs of this), but that is the root cause of the increase in software issues many owners are seeing. They knew this platform change might tip the tea cart over and it would take a while to put it back upright, but they're working 7 days a week on it. Dlala said these issues include locking/unlocking issues, screen freezes and blackouts, and several other issues Lucid knows owners are experiencing. There is an update coming out later this month and another around July that will address many of the issues. Although these updates will add some new features, they will apparently focus more than many of us thought on reducing existing problems.

He said one of the reasons I am seeming more problems than many other owners is that we have two fully-optioned Dream Editions, and running all those systems taxes the software sometimes beyond its limits. Lucid is working on a change that will take about 30% of the load off the system and give it more headroom to handle things without issue (again, the technical aspects of this were lost on me).

We got into an interesting tangent on the HUD, which Dlala said has been problematic on several fronts. He said that he, like many owners on the forum, has actually turned his off in his car. I told him that one of the most universal complaints on the forum is that the display is too high in the field of vision. He is investigating whether that can be at least partially addressed via software.

Although I'm not particularly exercised about promised features that haven't yet arrived, Dlala knows that many owners are, and he's really trying to pick up the pace of bringing them online. He's particularly interested in getting PAAK in place. However, he said that when he took the job he told Lucid that it was going to take six months for him to take stock of the software work to be done and how best to approach it, and he thinks things are now ready to move forward more quickly.

He assured me Lucid is fully aware of what is hanging in the balance with the software performance of the Cosmos at launch and that the work they're doing now on the Gravity with platform changes, more efficient processing, etc., is setting the stage for that.

I was extremely appreciative of his call and have a bit of restored confidence that we may yet see some light at the end of this tunnel."

Personal Lucid Air Pure Wishlist

As a new owner of a 2024 Lucid Air Pure coming from a Tesla Model 3 Performance (my last EV), there's a lot of missing features here in what would otherwise be the perfect EV sedan. So here is my personal wishlist of additional features I'd like to see in my Lucid Air. Feel free to let me know your thoughts:

  1. Upgraded key option (something better than the cheap plastic orange peel key)
  2. More apps (YouTube, Apple Music, etc.)
  3. It will never happen, but... ability to access and sideload your own apps on the android-based system
  4. Faster more responsive self-parking
  5. Lane centering
  6. Ability to upgrade to dream drive pro and surreal sound pro after purchase (similar to what Lucid offered for the center control unit upgrade)
  7. An easier, faster more straight forward process of transferring vehicle ownership (for used models IYKYK)
  8. More vehicle accessories (replacement key cards, pet liners, center console organizers, forged wheels, etc.)
  9. Edit: Ability to remap steering wheel controls to open apps or a customizable quick settings menu

Buy 2024 Touring vs Lease 2026 touring

Planning to get my first EV and torn between a 2024 Air Touring 22k miles with glass canopy and convenience package at 47k vs leasing a new 2026 Air touring. Spoke with Lucid and they said the best offer right now is 14500$ credit (12500 lease + 2000 conquest) which turn out to be 984/month with 5500DAS for a 36 month lease

What do you guys advise?

DreamDrive Pro on 2 Lane Highways

I currently have a Model Y and am looking heavily into getting a 22-23 Air Grand Touring. With the MY I only use basic autopilot and it does very well for my use case, I have a 200mi round trip commute that is 40% 2 lane state highway and 60% interstate. The state highway is pretty straight, a couple long curves, but basic autopilot handles it just fine (obviously I handle passing, interchanges, etc) I know from videos Ive found that it seems Dream Drive Pro should be as good or better on the interstate, but Im not finding hardly any answers regarding 2 lane highways on newer software. Some people act like it will work, just have to keep a hand on the wheel (same as basic autopilot on HW3), but others seem to indicate you get adaptive cruise only unless it's a mapped road. Ive done a ton of research on the car and am in love with everything else, but this could be a hang up for me with the long commute. Im probably 6-12 months out from purchase, so I know software could evolve as well, but Id like to see if I could get some first hand feedback.

Lease ending soon on my 2024 Air Pure had some unfortunate last minute damages

Hey guys long story short my car's lease is ending in like 2 months.

At the beginning of this month a family member accidentally bumped into my rear.

It left some scrapes on the bumper and a crack on the tail light.

In an effort to not screw up insurance premiums we are not going through insurance and they're gonna cover the cost of repairs.

In an effort to avoid and minimize the exorbitant amount of money they would have to pay at a lucid service center I took it to a body shop to see what can be done.

They were able to touch up the bumper but it sounds like since they're not a lucid certified center we're not gonna have any luck on the tail light.

However when the guy from the shop called me to let me know about the situation he told me it looked like the car had had damages from another incident. I'm not 100% sure if I understood him correctly but he said they determined this because they found there was a discrepancy in the paint color of the bumper and the rest of the car? I was baffled, I reiterated this car was a new lease when I got it and he told me he was aware.

So truly the only possibility I can think of if what he is telling is true is that Lucid recycled parts from previous years and put them in "new" cars and the shade of the color varied slightly depending on the year of the model.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this matter?

Also am I just gonna have to take it a lucid certified shop and eat the cost of replacing/repairing the tail light bar?

I am sort out some details regarding lease end to decide what I am gonna do (purchase car as is at significantly cheaper vs eat the cost of repairs, vs get a new lease for an air GT) and plan to post an update about my experience. I prefer to not post pics of the damage at this time, but can do it during an update post.

Is anyone getting good Air deals?

When I leased my Air Pure a few years back it was like $650 a month with minimal due at signing. Now for the same $2,500 DAS, an 80k pure 36mth/10k is $1,121, even with Loyalty!! Wtf? Is anyone actually taking these deals?
