Our small bathroom renovation is finally done and I can’t stop staring at it 🛁✨

After months of planning and a few weeks of chaos, our bathroom is finally finished and honestly it feels like a completely different space. We have a pretty small footprint to work with so every decision had to be intentional.

The theme we went for was Scandinavian — white and wood, clean lines, nothing too busy.

Here’s what we did:

The wood countertop was the decision I was most nervous about in a bathroom setting, but we sealed it properly and it’s become the feature I get the most compliments on. Paired it with a vessel sink to add a little interest at vanity height.

The recessed wall niches above the tub were my husband’s idea and honestly it was a genius call. We added LED strip lighting inside and used wood-look backing to tie it into the countertop. Now I have a place for my plants AND my candles.

The round wood-framed mirror was the final piece that pulled everything together. It softens the room and echoes the warm tones throughout.

The pendant lights were a splurge but worth every penny.

Total gut job on this room. If anyone is considering a small bathroom reno, feel free to ask questions — happy to share what we learned the hard way! 😅

What couch would suit this space best? I like L or U couches. What do you think?

I like the look of L or U couches but i also recognize the space might be too small. What seating can I do that’s cozy and can sear people comfortably?

Something’s not right

Something’s not right

Hey guys! I posted here a few months back and have since gotten new chairs (the green swivel chairs). I’m hoping for some more recommendations… something isn’t lining up in this room and I’m not sure what to do to make it feel more elevated. Photos with more angles of the room are in the comments.

My kitchen is still under construction and I DEFINITELY need a new rug (this is a hand me down and not my style.. I’d prefer cleaner lines that don’t look so busy and neutral colors or muted greens). Any recommendations are appreciated! I haven’t found anything I love yet. Beyond these two issues, I struggle with the open layout and making the space feel intentional.

I decorate seasonally, so the blue/green color scheme is for the spring/summer. I thought it would be easier to incorporate the blue, but it’s just looking out of place. Any advice is welcome!

Need help with what to do around this fireplace

Need help with what to do around this fireplace

I’m stuck on what to do with this fireplace wall, and would love some ideas. Space is VERY limited. This is the only wall I have to work with in the living room. I know post is long but it’s gonna be best to read it to get a feel for what we like. This will be DIY, we can do anything really.

Here for ANY and ALL ideas and what you’d do with this wall! Literally open to any anything. Love good texture, boldnees, movement, natural wood tones.

I’ve posted photos of the layout of the living and dining room in the comments so you can get a feel for the flow/vibe of the area.

(tv needs to be incorporated, read why below)

Some context:

- Built-in fireplace is staying (non-negotiable)

- Fabric inside fireplace can be changed

- This is our only living/entertaining space so TV is also non-negotiable, need help w placement

- No, no other wall works for the TV

- Walls are creamy white to balance lots of color elsewhere, my rug, and more artwork I need to hang

- Room has a cove ceiling I want whatever we do to this wall to work with it

My general style:

- Midcentury Modern + eclectic + vintage folk (i antique most of my pieces)

- Love color, pattern, texture, and personality

-I really love spaces that feel collected and personal, not overly “styled” but still cohesive..

Thanks in advance 🙏

I’m not the best at organizing or interior design… can someone help me with a drink station?

I’m not the best at organizing or interior design… can someone help me with a drink station?

I have a newly turned 1 yo. Her cups are on the bottom left. Cabinet to the left has her food on bottom shelf. There are also 3 drawers on the lower out of view. Right now they’re being used for bottles, nipples, pumping accessories, strong bottles, etc. any ideas how I can possibly make this more functional, perhaps after she’s done with the bottle…

I have coffee and teas, and supplement powders for protein and fiber. Matcha and chia.

Maybe add a drink organizer or something?

Hey y'all! I moved in to the house about a year ago and while it's functional, it's not exactly pretty. the closest to the left makes me feel like it I put anything along that wall, that it would be in the way or the closest. Idk if there is a way to make a chair or second table for hobbies to work in here but would love to get your thoughts.

Need advice on where to place TV and sofa

Need advice on where to place TV and sofa

So context; we watch a lot of TV and want to know where we can put the TV in this layout.

Another thing is though the plan shows tiling, it’s all hardwood across the house.

There is a dining room in the house and we plan on having only one eating area.

How can I make this space feel more high-end and lived in (without overdoing it)? No

How can I make this space feel more high-end and lived in (without overdoing it)? No

First time posting here, so thanks in advance.

Rented flat so I can’t change anything structural, but I want to elevate the space.

I actually like the clean/neutral look, just feels like it’s missing something or doesn’t look properly “lived in.”

I’m not a fan of the LED strip / feature wall type of vibe, but I’m open to ideas as long as it stays subtle and doesn’t feel overdone.

What would you add to make it feel more high-end without cluttering it?

How would you make this fragmented apartment layout feel more connected?

How would you make this fragmented apartment layout feel more connected?

We’re considering this apartment, but the layout feels a bit fragmented. When you enter, it’s mostly a long hallway with separate rooms branching off, rather than a connected living space.

One challenge for us is that the kitchen is completely separate from the main living area, which feels a bit isolating. Since we have a baby, I’d ideally like to be able to see or stay connected to the living space while cooking, but moving or removing walls isn’t an option.

I’d love ideas on:

- How to make better use of the long hallway / central floor space

- Ways to connect the kitchen with the living area more functionally or visually

- Ideas to bring some “kitchen life” into the living space (coffee station, pantry cabinet, etc.)

- Any layout or furniture ideas that could make the apartment feel less like separate rooms and more cohesive

Would love to hear any creative ideas!

Trying to upgrade this bedroom, looking for trade furniture recommendations. Anyone know good sourcing tools beyond just googling vendor sites? Or do I have to just go into a retail store?

Help with new living room

Help with new living room

Hi guys,

I'm moving and this is gonna be my new, very small, living room. The first one is a wide-angle picture, so it looks bigger than it is, attached is a 3d rendering and some measurements in Meters. I need to get a TV (can be wall-mounted), a couch (2,28m in width) and a desk with 1,80m in there.

I'm open to any and all ideas, inspirations, tips. The layout of the space is really messed up, its full of nooks and crannies, which makes it harder for me to properly execute a plan.

Happy for any ideas. :)

Cheers

P.S. I just now see that only one image is possible, I hope I can add the two other pictures in the comments.

Looking to make my space “mine” again

Looking to make my space “mine” again

Hey, 27M, recently went through a breakup of a long term relationship and wanting to make my house feel like “mine” again. I’m typically more of a minimalist/clean design style.

Both pieces of furniture will be replaced (cats got a hold of them) and want to use this as an opportunity to make it feel welcoming.

Looking for suggestions on whether a couch/accent chair or couch/loveseat combo will work with this space. It’s kind of awkward because of the openness. Also looking for rug color/pattern suggestions. Eventually this summer I’ll be replacing the flooring, but for now I have the tile to work with.

(The tv mount will be coming off of the wall, don’t worry)

Any and all suggestions are welcome!!

Please help me furnish my room

Please help me furnish my room

I have genuinely spent days meticulously trying every which way to design my bedroom. At this point I think the only solution is through prayer and for a literal deity to bless the space. I digress, the problem with this room is that I can seem to fit everything I want in it. I’d like a small double bed (4ft) a desk, a wardrobe/ set of drawers. A tv unit/ media unit for a tv and a sofa to watch it on. I also have a vinyl collection that I need stored and displayed. It doesn’t sound like too much to ask but it seems like no matter where I put everything I cannot have all I want. Please help a brother out, at this point I’ll just put a mattress on the floor and call it a day. Send me your suggestions if you have any. Out of the box ideas would be appreciated also, thank you.

Advise Needed: Rug placement

Advise Needed: Rug placement

Need help. I have a room (living room circled in red in the floor lamp). when I moved in , in a haste to settle down and the weird dimension/limitations of the room due to the pillar, got a rug which was too big (9x12) and the room looked weird

Due to how much I spent on it, I didn't have funds to replace it until now.

I rearranged furniture by breaking up the L shaped sectional and mounting the tv. I thought 8x10 would be ideal but then realized 10 doesn't fit due to the pillar.

I bought a 9ft x 6'7" rug yesterday and somehow it still doesn't work. I already know the answer is to somehow get a different rug but I just can't. I'm looking for advise on how to make this work best among all the limited options. (note that a lot of floating shelves on the wall are still to be mounted so the room looks bare)

I cannot change how back the gray 2 seater moves or cannot move it too much towards the wall since then we can't watch tv. I cannot move it too back because then it blocks a passage way. the only semi movable asset here is the white couch coming front or back.

can anyone tell me how I can make this work?

Wallpaper Ideas Requested

Wallpaper Ideas Requested

I’m planning to put wallpaper in my bathroom but don’t want to spend the money redoing all the fixtures, so I’ll be keeping the silver faucets and handles for now. The idea is to add wallpaper and install a half glass shower door to elevate the space a bit. It’s a windowless powder room so I’d guess it likely needs to be lighter.

I’ve included photos of the floor and wall tile (at the bottom) and some other pics to give a sense of the space. I’m struggling to figure out what style of wallpaper would actually work. My wife has zero interest in this project, so I’m flying solo here. I’m thinking a cream, or something with texture, but I have no idea what I’m doing. I’d welcome a bolder design bc aim drawn to them, but I’m not sure how brave I really am.

Would really appreciate any thoughts, ideas, or suggestions from the group. Thank you!

Bedroom layout for long room

Bedroom layout for long room

I have a queen bed in the room and a work desk. Right now, the bed is just pushed up in the corner against the top right, with the foot of the bed facing the left wall. I am wondering if I should center the bed on the top wall, with the foot of it facing down, but it would block part of the window behind it. The window is also off-center.

Ideally I would like to fit my bed, the desk, and a dresser in here. Thoughts? Thank you!

Is Homestyler/SketchUP hard if you already have 3D art experience?

Desperately in need of a job and I've had some amateur gigs as an interior designer (mostly did it through TaskRabbit, helping people sketch up plans for home renovating). I already know Blender 3D and Maya 3D. Would it be particularly hard for me to pick up these two softwares? I'd like to see where it goes.
