IBM hiring clarification

IBM hiring clarification

I recently received the LOI from IBM. Now after like 20 days I get this mail from IBM entry level hiring stating the need for upskilling myself for the role. They didn't specify what are the skills needed for the role (Associate System Engineer), or which specific courses I must follow. Has anyone received a similar mail ? Does anyone know if this is a mandatory certification process?

Anyone recently appeared for IBM Off-Campus ASE Hiring Process? (Interview on 14th May)

Hi everyone,

I have been shortlisted for the IBM Off-Campus Recruitment Process for the Associate System Engineer role, and my interview process is scheduled on 14th May at ABES Engineering College, Ghaziabad.

If anyone has recently appeared for this drive (especially 2025/2026 batches), could you please share your complete experience?

It would be really helpful if you could mention:

  • Total number of rounds
  • What specific rounds were there
  • Coding assessment difficulty level
  • Types of coding questions asked
  • Any aptitude/MCQ sections
  • Technical interview focus areas
  • HR interview questions
  • Important CS subjects/topics asked
  • Project discussion depth
  • Overall difficulty and elimination criteria
  • Any tips or things to avoid

Would really appreciate detailed interview experiences from people who recently attended this off-campus drive.

Thanks in advance!

Waiting for the result...

I interviewed for the Associate System Engineer (ASE) position on April 15th. My biometric verification has been completed, but I have not yet received any updates. Most other candidates I have contacted have already received either a rejection or an offer letter. Is anyone else in a similar situation?

TLDR: DOJ was 4th May (today). Requested revision verbally confirmed by multiple IBM HRs and via WhatsApp but no official email confirmation received. All post-offer forms completed. Is my offer at risk?

---
Hey everyone, looking for some clarity and similar experiences from the community.

I got selected for the IBM Associate System Engineer role (Job ID: 103807) as part of the 2026 fresher batch and received my offer letter on 23rd March. During an onboarding call, the HR specifically told me not to book tickets until I receive an official date confirmation.

My offer letter mentions 4th May as my DOJ — which is today.

During the onboarding webinars, I raised a request to push my joining date to end of May or early June due to a pre-planned family engagement and the practical difficulty of relocating from Delhi to Bangalore on short notice. An onboarding HR member called me, confirmed the DOJ was 4th May, but agreed to the revision when I explained my situation. I repeatedly asked whether my offer letter or selection would be at risk — he denied that it would be.

I also have a WhatsApp message from another HR member explicitly stating "Next onboarding will be May 18" and "Next will be in the month of June" which I took as informal confirmation of my revised date

From my side I have:

  • Emailed echoolhiring and 3-4 onboarding HRs multiple times over the past week
  • WhatsApp confirmation of May 18th as next batch date
  • Verbal confirmation from two HR members that my OL won't be cancelled
  • Completed all post-offer forms — IBM ID badge, email ID, and laptop selection

However I have no official written confirmation on mail of the DOJ revision on email.

My queries?
Is pushing a DOJ for a mass fresher hiring position like this common and easy at IBM?

Has anyone been in a similar situation where the DOJ passed without joining but the offer was still honoured

Should I be genuinely worried given I have no written confirmation despite proactive communication from my end?

What is ibm person id?

I got an invite to the hiring drive, in the mail they mentioned IBM person id, however I cannot find it on the ibm careers portal where I applied for the job. Any idea where to find it exactly? Or is it just our email-id we use for logging into the portal?

Thanks in advance!!!

My IBM recruitment drive held on March 16th and 17th, 2026 at Aditya Global Academy of Technology, Bengaluru.

I attended the interview on March 17th for Job ID 86093 and successfully completed all the required steps, including candidate form submission and biometric verification.

Later, on March 27th, I received a new candidate ID associated with Job ID 103807, and I have submitted the required details for the same as instructed.

However, I have not yet received any update regarding the Background Verification (BGV) process or further stages for either of the Job IDs.

Hi everyone,

My job ID is 96922, and I received a “no longer under consideration” email. However, I’ve seen candidates with job ID 103807 get rejection emails but still receive the background verification (BGV) form.

Also, one person who interviewed with me (same job ID 96922) still shows “interview in progress.” He reapplied (job ID 103807), and without another interview, his status moved from “assessment in progress” to receiving the biometric form.

Is anyone from job ID 96922 getting updates or BGV? Should I wait or reapply for 103807, or could reapplying cause issues?

Any insights would be appreciated. Thanks!

My joining has been postponed due to a pending criminal record check in the BGV process. All other checks are cleared. HR mentioned that the issue is from the vendor side. Has anyone recently faced a similar issue?

Hi All,

I am currently working in IBM, Got an offer from Accenture for 32 lpa fixed for level 9

current ctc: 26.5 fixed

when I gave the interview the interviewer said the project is a support project but we can switch internally after 4 months to an implementation project .

Now my manager in ibm is saying that she will match the offer.

should I stay or switch? hr says project details are confidential in Accenture so not able to decide

Edit: I was trying to switch to get a better role which involves some leadership(My promotion in ibm was getting delayed) , which is what accenture is offering but I am skeptical about the support project
