I would like to present my plan for fixing Wilfried, or at least salvaging what's left before he graduates from the Royal Academy. Please note that this is intended towards increasing his chances of success as future Giebe Gerlach, not salvaging his status as an ADC. That is a lost cause already.
I was inspired during my reread of P4V4, specifically the Haldenzel visit. It occured to me that Wilfried is lacking any concrete experience in running a Giebe, even if he does have the mana and basic education prerequisites. He lacks any close family who can give him specific advice, and he doesn't exactly have a wealth of retainers who either 1) will follow him there to assist, or 2) have any concrete experience themselves. Factor in the extreme casualties that Gerlach took, and Wilfried is having to start from scratch with few resources to guide him at the start. So....how can we solve this within the bounds of the world in AOB?
My solution: a summer internship! No seriously, an actual internship. Wilfried has one summer left before his final year at the Academy. In my opinion, he should spend barely any of it at the Archducal castle. Instead, he needs to "intern" under a Giebe to learn the ins and outs of the position. His two best options are either Giebe Haldenzel or Giebe Kirnberger, perhaps both. I would suggest Giebe Illgner, but as a mednoble the poor dude is too low in status to provide critique for Wilfried's inevitable mistakes. Both of the two best options are archnobles of significant status, and both of them aren't inherently hostile to Wilfried.
This internship could solve both Wilfried's lack of experience and his lack of support staff. The experience part is obvious, but it also gives either (or both) Giebes the opportunity to "gift" Wilfried with a couple scholars or attendants who could assist his efforts. This gives them an opportunity to influence a new Giebe while propping up Wilfried. Also, said individuals would be fast-tracked to career advancement, going from minor figures within their home province to being Wilfried's primary support, so win win.
This affair is also profitable to said Giebes in another fashion. Assuming Sylvester is the one who helps arrange this (Wilfried being indecisive), he now owes either or both Giebes a favor for assisting his son. This makes the potential frustration of running herd on Wilfried politically worthwhile.
[P5V12] F**k it, FLORENCIA SLANDER INBOUND!!!
Like, before/after the Archduke Conference, or Myne's visit to her commoner family. Or what if it's after her fifth year at the royal academy
As we are slowly approaching the ditter match, it seems to me like that is gonna be the point where Sigiswald oversteps and loses his duchy if not his life too, especially due to the repeated mention of lethal ditter weapons this volume. If so, do you think there is going to be another reorganisation of the «troublesome» duchies? Or are they most likely just going to get new Archduke houses?
So, I loved the audiobooks and the manga [Parts 1 & 2], so much so that I started the anime! And...uh...
Judging an anime purely on the first episode:
- Is it just me or do the mouths look kind of...off?
- What is that thing on Tuuli's head??
- That jumpscare was unnecessary.
And yeah, I can see why people feel like the anime cuts out a lot of stuff. The pacing, interactions, and emotional beats all felt kinda weird.
Still, gonna see if the rest of the first season is okay. Hopefully it gets better! Though I guess I am judging it based on the manga
I stumbled upon this scene. I haven't wached the anime. Is it all like this?
In the Archduke Conference following H5Y, Korinthsdaum and Hauchletzte (and Gilessenmeyer) are basically guaranteed to drop terribly in rankings.
Which would mean Ehrenfest will, almost certainly, become the 6th ranked duchy. (Could be 5th if the harvest in Blumenfeld is particularly poor, but very unlikely imo, now that they have a proper archduke.)
It will be
- At the same rank that their bully Ahrensbach used to have
- The top ranked middle duchy. All duchies above it are greater duchies.
Somewhere in the castle, Sylvester is probably thinking, “wait, did I just win by doing nothing?”
This is my 3rd read and every time I get to Philine's family situation... Reading from RM's perspective is not so bad but realizing from Philine's perspective that the magic tool wasn't just some heirloom. It was literally made from their mother's dead body (feystone). I mean the woman, as her dying wish asked to give her feystone to make a magic tool for her son and Kashik was like "We'll keep the child with the most mana." Like I get that that's supposed to be normal but are you just gonna give up on your wife's death wish like that?! That seems monstrously callous even for this world...
I'm re-reading the story from P4V1 onwards in Japanese and realised that adoptive children call their adoptive parents with "養父様" (tousama) and "養母様" (kaasama) – the pronunciation is explicitly provided via furigana by the author.
For example instead of using "Sylvester" or "Florencia," Rozemyne simply uses tousama and kaasama.
Eglantine also calls the previous Aub Klassenberg, her biological grandfather and adoptive father, "養父様" (albeit without the explicit tousama annotation) in certain settings (e.g. in her tea party with Rozemyne in P4V2).
So with Letizia set to be adopted by Rozemyne in 2 years, we could see her referring to Rozemyne, only 4 years her senior, as kaasama. I wonder how Rozemyne would feel, first time being called that way by Letizia.
I was rereading the series and got to the side stories of part 4 volume 9, where a side story told from the point of view of Kamil mentions that all the paint from the buildings got washed off during the city wide waschen. My theory is that waschen works on anything small enough to be considered a particle or substance, as waschen was used during another side story with the Karstedt and Giebe Haldenzel to clean the bowls they ate their knight rations out of. The main story details briefly (if I recall correctly) that the knight rations are dehydrated soup stock that you dissolve in water before eating.
We also know waschen works on particles small enough to be left by an object simply being placed on a surface, as it is apparently standard practice to clean off the mana measuring tool used to determine the purity and types of mana in an ingredient when brewing.
My understanding of dyeing cloth is that small bits of the dye get caught up in the cloth, and that is what actually gives off the colour, which is why colours can fade after being washed many times as the particles get pulled out of the cloth. This should theoretically mean that waschen destroys the dye caught in the cloth, but as people have used waschen on themselves and others, and not once does it mention that their clothes lose colour, it seems right to assume that the dye stays.
I typically have a poor memory, so if anyone remembers some scene that describes waschen working in specific ways, or my rationality is off somewhere, I would like to hear it.
P.S. I am not exactly sure how I should be spoiler taging things, as this post covers instances from multiple volumes, and I very rarely post things on reddit. I have read the whole series, save for the side story collections, but I don't care about spoilers regardless, and I have the post itself tagged spoiler to hopefully prevent anime watchers or first time readers from seeing anything without consent. Sorry if I have done something incorrectly.
So for context I asked someone I knew who read the novels and that person said that rosemyne is >!enganged to Ferdinand in the sake of her protection and "ensuring" she will have a family.!< Like bruh I dunno I think I'm brain washed by Isekai animes/mangas about how a strong mc can do it by themselves. This book gives a realistic turns on how it would really turn out if you reincarnated to another world. Now that I ranted would I stopped reading it or watching the anime? No, but will I hate it? Yes, I'll freaking endure this not as annoying as black clover mc.
Peace out nice ranting let me know your opinions I'll listen partially because I have no one to talk to about this.
Is there any info about volumes 3 and 4? I heard rumors that volume 4 is confirmed at the end of volume 3. What is happening in volume 3 rightn now? >!Did author write more about what Rozemyne did in past?!< Is there any websites where I can buy in english volumes 1-3?
My first time posting something I've drawn. I wanted to show some appreciation to my favorite book series, hope you like it :D
[P5v12] Rereading and found this gem
I laughed for a good 30 seconds at Rozemyne's expense when rereading this chapter in P4v9.
