>"Uncle doesn't seem that bothered," Wilfried added with a grin and pointed at Ferdinand.

>I glanced over, wanting to see what he meant, and then immediately looked away again. Ferdinand was wearing the same dazzling smile he put on whenever he was in the absolute worst mood-the smile he'd worn when facing Georgine and throughout his engagement to Detlinde.

>"How can you say that when he's making his extremely displeased face?" I asked. "Seeing it scares me so much that I'm too afraid to even approach him."

As I said, how do you interpret his smile ?

It seems to me that he was pissed hearing rumors about him, and him and Roz being "in love" thus using his fake noble smile ? Especially since in P5V12, he asks if she was frustrated as well to have her feelings and worries for him being labeled as "love" in the romantic sense. I guess it must be frustrating for the both of them, who consider each other as family.

Also, is it just me or is Roz more conscious of Ferdinand in the later parts in volume 11 ?

Honestly I'm not sure of the significance of a lot of things in the later novels, so I second-guess a lot 😅

Additionally, it seems it is just me who think that he hasn't yet something akin to "romantic" for her yet, at least until P5V12. Maybe I'm dense because I don't see how he treats her when they are in private is any different from how he had always treated her 🤷 Like, even in his pov, his view of Myne hasn't changed from before and while he acknowledged her beauty in P5v8, I personally think it's too shallow to base his changing feelings on that. After all, he treats her like always, the only difference is the grown up version of Myne. None of his attitude changed. He's just more open now. Basically, he treats her like family
