I’m posting here because I feel like we’re all going through the same thing: an HIV scare.

Anyways, I’m getting my test results tomorrow and I am highly anxious as we all are here.

I am extra anxious because I am experiencing some symptoms: light chills and a lightly irritated throat.

I’m really scared to get a positive reault. I don’t know how I’m gonna cope with it. I might not be able to go on, truly. I feel like it would be the end of my life

Anyways, just looking for support.

I am making this post for my 27 year old son, he had sex with girl who may worked in the sex field though she did not explain it like those exact terms, she had gave him Chlamydia and after the fact according to him (was conflictive in her response)- after he asked if she had sex with a mutual person before or after that person they knew was positive, she has claimed to be tested negative after having sex with that person and my Son because she went to get tested for Chlamydia after he requested her to, as well for HIV she also claimed 2 months prior she was Tested for HIV after she has sex with the person who has sex with the person they mutually knew and was negative

So the question being is how likely is it to be tested Negative at 30 days possible exposure from a 4th Generation test and as well as 3rd Generation tests done at week 3-4, 5 and week 6 point in total four tests so far and be Positive

, after 3 weeks of antibiotics from STI, he experienced he is claiming to be quiet during parts of the day so much so he lays down fatigue, even more now that he is off Antibiotics (he was quiet under the weather seemed sick but no fever, he is having a inflamed throat with slight discomforted at swallowing and even claimed to have have quiet achy back muscles at a point, he did have what Doctors resembled Geographic Tongue that soon healed, he had no fever in the last 7 weeks but he his biggest concern of ours is a persistent headache that no medication can seem to help (tylenol and codeine), advil,

My Son has visited nearly 6 Doctors in the span of 7 weeks and is driving him crazy what more assurance would he need?

He does suffer from ADHD, i believe ODC and Major depressive and Generalized Anxiety as he survived a Coma of 3 weeks 2 years ago and truly i am getting worried for his health.

I believe my Son is not making up it up but truly what is something that would finally ease his Mind? Another 4th Generation Test at this 8 week mark and then 12 weeks?

Hi so i think im HIV positive and i know i am i have every symptoms you can think of and i had a sexual encounter a few years ago i have been living like this for the past 5-6 years and i don‘t know what to do since im from a middle eastern country and i live here and everything here is different i can’t imagine if i get tested and get a positive result what will i tell me parents and i can”t not tell since i live with them and eventually they will know for marriage or job bloodtests im just so scared of everything and i don”t want to get tested and im just thinking im going to wait till this thing kills me. I feel like crying 24/7 and im a muslim and i started praying and being close to allah so much i really need help and im scared my parents wont want me as there son anymore and i would have no where to go im in a depression and thinking of ending my self before this virus kills me.

guys, my risk was oral sex only for 45seconds from a high risk person, I an a male and I receieved. Everywhere in the internet says low to no risk but I feel somehow I will be the unluckiest person. I have everything, fever, severe night sweats like so severe for 1 week, fatigue, rash, and opurtunistic infections. On top of that I just got my result of 40days hiv ag/ab and they are negative 😭. I feel like I am going to be the first person to test positive after window period for hiv ag/ab and for hiv from oral. There is no other explanation to my symptoms. All other stis were negative also at 40days. I am out of words honestly... Covid and flu negative also. I have to wait until 6months to get a definitve result and until then my anxiety will ke me anyway

Hello everyone

First, let me get straight to the point. At the end of July last year, I had a risk of exposure.

After that, I had tests.

On the 7th day (July 31st), 14th, 28th, 42nd, 71st, 91st, and 117th day (which is November 27th),

All were negative.

But the thing is that I have many symptoms that are very similar to HIV.

Such as, rash, afternoon fever, fatigue, stomach problems, swollen lymph nodes in the face, neck, and clavicle, migraine,fungal infection on the hands and feet, and even in the mouth (white tongue). Currently, after more than 9 months, I still have those symptoms.

I am currently very worried, and because of my anxiety, I haven't been retested (because I'm afraid of new exposure), and I've also heard that the test results are conclusive after the 45th day.

Furthermore, I see many people concerned about test results, or false negatives, new strains, or some other reason that isn't detected, so I'm also very worried.

10 days ago I topped a guy who told me he’s HIV positive. I wore a condom, and the condom broke during sex and there was some fecal matter on my penis afterwards.

He did say he was undetectable but told me this after we had sex, which is what started the spiral as no one can know for sure if they’ve been following treatment. Ngl I was upset he never disclosed this before we hooked up which was sketchy. That’s what you get for randomly hooking up with a stranger from Grindr I guess. I’m not on prep either I practice safe sex and rarely do this, it’s been a rough year after a breakup with my ex and wanted an escape.

Since then I’ve been spiraling. I started getting symptoms around day 7–8: constant throat clearing, mucus, mild discomfort when swallowing, fatigue, and some diarrhea. Still no fever though.
I got an RNA test this morning at 9.5 days post-exposure. They said if it’s positive they’ll call me, otherwise no news is good news.
I’m losing my mind waiting for these results. Has anyone here tested this early with RNA and gotten a negative? Or had similar mild symptoms and ended up negative?
Would really appreciate any advice or personal experiences. This anxiety is destroying me. Safe to say i learned my lesson and will likely get on prep if all goes well.

had hookup over this morning and now i’m spiraling a bit. there was no penetrative sex, but he spat on/around my asshole during stuff. later i noticed there was a little blood in his spit and now i’m panicking about hiv risk.

the thing is i had shaved that area the same morning, so now i’m worried there may have been tiny cuts/razor irritation even if i didn’t notice anything major at the time.

i don’t know his status and i’ve been doomscrolling/google searching ever since. no semen or anal sex happened, just the spit situation, but the blood part is what’s freaking me out.

is this still considered low risk? should i try to get pep just in case? would really appreciate hearing from anyone who’s dealt with something similar because my anxiety is through the roof rn.

Cdc says no risk of hiv from kissing, but oral sex apparently is low risk... can someone explain whats the difference between oral sex and kissing, and why afger oral sex someone needs to be tested but not after kissing

Struggling to accept test results.

Exposure was August 5th 2025. No new exposures since. No symptoms.

Tested Negative on multiple 4th Generation ag/ab venous blood draw lab based tests:
- 59 days post exposure
- 72 days post exposure
- 88 days post exposure
- 167 days post exposure

Also, received a negative/undetected HIV-1 RNA PCR Quantitative Cobas Roche 6800 test at 177 days post exposure.

Any encouragement or advice is appreciated.

I’m a male and had vaginal sex with a woman using a condom. During intercourse the condom broke, and I was exposed without protection for probably no more than 1–1.5 minutes before stopping.

I took a 4th generation HIV Ag/Ab blood test from a vein 29 days after the exposure, and it came back negative.

Other STI tests were also negative:

• Syphilis
• Hepatitis A
• Hepatitis B
• Hepatitis C

How reassuring is a negative 4th gen HIV test at 29 days in this situation? Has anyone had similar experiences or advice about whether follow-up testing at 6 weeks is mainly precautionary?

1. I tested positive with a faint line for Antigen/Antibody HIV test (twice).
2. Did a HIV Antibody test and it came back negative (three times).
3. Did an Elisa test and it was “reactive”.

I had sex 20 January 2026 and I never had sex again since then. I tested now May. I’m a female. Had vaginal sex with a male once off. I have strong beliefs that it’s a false positive. I’m not trying to run away from the sickness. I’m just scared of taking medication of something I don’t have. I vape. I drink wine a lot. I took a flu shot December. Antibiotics for yeast infection and I recently went off my contraceptives coz I haven’t been active.
What are the chances of the Elisa reactivity being true? Should I start taking medication?

NEWLY DIAGNOSED. APRIL 9TH. 1ST INITIAL LABS.

I recently got my labs back and my viral load is 8002 cd4 is 1105 cd8 is 1102 .

Cd4 % is 42

And CD4/CD8 RATIO IS 1.

ARE THESE NORMAL FOR 1ST INITIAL LABS?
