When do people stop testing after negative test results?

I’m curious about the typical 'endpoint' for testing after a potential exposure. Even with the knowledge that a 4th-generation lab test is conclusive at 45 days and all tests are definitive at 90, many find it difficult to stop testing. I’m interested in hearing how others define the threshold for 'moving on' and how many negative results are generally required to achieve peace of mind.

Testing Anxiety

Struggling to accept test results.

Exposure was August 5th 2025. No new exposures since. No symptoms.

Tested Negative on multiple 4th Generation ag/ab venous blood draw lab based tests:
- 59 days post exposure
- 72 days post exposure
- 88 days post exposure
- 167 days post exposure

Also, received a negative/undetected HIV-1 RNA PCR Quantitative Cobas Roche 6800 test at 177 days post exposure.

Any encouragement or advice is appreciated.
