Fangan locations
How do you decide your location for your fanganronpas? Do you base your location off of your theme? Do you just try to make yours unique? Do you try to do a mixture of both? In my fangan the location is an underground hidden facility consisting of a big living area/common zone, and a lab. The living part consists of things such as a dining hall, dorms, "courtyard", etc.... The lab area is locked during the prologue and one part of it opens up each chapter!

wanted ultimates?
im revising my cast right now, and though almost everything is set in stone there are a few characters + backstories im a little unsure about.
its not guaranteed i'll change anything, but is there an ultimate idea you have that you'd like to see explored in a fangan? or maybe a cool hobby you dont see talked about a lot?
Is too distracting just right?
My fangan will be about how distracted as humanity we are when it comes to solving problems. Not distracted by important things like paying taxes, working, eating, sleeping and stuff, I mean purposefully ignoring terrible things that’d going on in the world in favour of watching your favourite show again or playing a game you put more focus in than your work or scrolling on social media.
And when you do acknowledge it, you give a small amount of sympathy and sorrow, not enough to actually cry but dampen your previous mood, give your condolences or share it before moving on, resuming, already forgetting the post or the devastating news.
The characters symbolise different distractions one does to ignore the bigger picture, to not listen, to feed on wasted serotonin and endorphins when you should be helping people in desperate need.
Overtime, the survivors become a little more serious, trying to actually focus for more than a few seconds, to stop thinking about their online personas or following and actually care about their lives that they e become bored with.
Thing is, that may ruin the vibe and mood of the story. It may not be taken seriously as an actually story and the message will be dropped.
How do you approach writing sequels?
So, I'm still writing the very first part of my Fangan but I still started to brainstorm a sequel but with different characters... That got me wondering: How do you guys approach writing the sequels to your Fangan? I'm really curious to know how you guys do that. Once I have the sequel premise mapped out, I'll be sharing that in a future post
Until then, see you and I can't wait to hear you guys!
Are you killing off one of the "support" characters in your fangan?
I feel like most fangans tend to have 2 support characters for the protagonist to bounce off of, and there is kind of an expectation for one of them to die at some point usually at chapter 5.
Do you like this trope and are thinking about using it or has it become super cliche and boring by now? Trying to finalize stuff for my own fangan so would love to hear others thoughts on this!
Smashronpa: Break the Bracket Prologue

How would you feel about one of the students in the killing game gave a motive
Just the title really. I thought of this idea and wanted some feedback.
Mastermind Reveal: Wait, they died and got replaced by someone else?!
I know this means the mastermind isn’t the mastermind but hear me out.
The traitor helped construct and plan the killing game while the mastermind supplied funding for it. The mastermind dies early, a victim, but the traitor doesn’t want it to end. By allowing the game to end, it means all their work, time, and progress was for nothing.
Think of it like this: an anime is being made, but one of the voice actors suddenly died at the start. Does that mean you cancel the show? No, you mourn, grieve, and give some time to settle before getting a new VA to replace the old one and continue the show.
This is an exact same situation except the traitor is in the role of the mastermind but has no proper motive to do a killing game besides “it’d be a waste.”
Thoughts on this idea?
Dr art-style
Would you please give opinions on how this looks compared to the actual Danganronpa art style? Like a 1-20 and if you can could you tell me some ways to make it look better if possible? 🤔
(I use Krita as my art program)
A sudden, unusual question
I've found myself in a very strange situation.
In my project "Danganronpa Society: Need More Despair," I have an incredible character, Yuta Yamadzaki. I was very pleased with this beautiful and unusual name.
And then, recently, I learned that there's an ACTOR named Yuta Yamadzaki. What should I do in this situation? I don't want to change the name, but maybe I can somehow turn it into a joke or something like that?
Advice for writing an Antisocial Protagonist?
So, my protagonist is pretty introverted and antisocial with others (he’s the SHSL Lucky Student and doesn’t think he fits in with them, plus he just generally likes being alone). I want his arc to be learning that not everyone can be judged by a status symbol and people have more in common with each other than they think. In my ch1, though, I want him to still be uninvolved with everyone. He sleeps a lot and only goes out to eat or when others literally drag him out of his room (I have another character that’s the complete opposite of him who always tries to hang out with him, long story).
My question is, how do I develop the rest of my cast when my protagonist’s antisocial attitude is in the way? I can’t just remove that from him, as I want it to be a big part of the first investigation and his relationship with another important character. But I also want my cast to shine and have THEIR relationships with my protag and each other be developed. Advice?
Feedback on an execution for my Fangan
So, I decided to share the first execution for Danganronpa Nova with you, please tell me what you think about it (Spoilers for Chapter 1)
This execution is given to the Ultimate Photographer, Yuto Minato and is called "Conflagration Shot".
The culprit is grabbed by a metal choker and dragged through a hallway before being dragged into a giant canvas where he gets trapped by multiple metallic shackles to his arms and legs. After that, he's sprayed with multiple photographic chemicals on his entire body. Then, a couple giant studio lights appear and blind him with their light, which then also ignites all the chemicals and thus, setting him on fire. Monokuma appears and takes a lot of pictures during this fire, ignoring Yuto's pleads for help entirely. After there was nothing left of him, Monokuma takes one last picture that he frames and then puts it on the wall, zooming out to see that the remaining 14 students were watching in horror
Please let me know what you think of this, thanks :)

Subplots excluding protagonist?
Let’s say a couple of characters go off and talk with each other without the protag, showing just them would help build their connections and give detail to the other characters, but then the protag feels like a minor character…
I’m not sure how to show other characters interacting each other without shrinking the protags importance?
Happy Birthday to Hanako Fuyumi! (4/22)
Happy Birthday to the MVP of Despair Beyond Hope
How do you implement brother/sisters into a Fangan
A follow-up question to my recent post regarding adding family members to a cast. I feel like I will end up with similar answers, but I was wondering if there is some difference.
