White patches on tonsils – not sure if tonsil stones?

Hey everyone,

I noticed a white patch on my tonsil area, one slightly bigger spot and a few smaller ones. After looking it up, I thought they might be tonsil stones.

But here’s the thing: they didn’t feel hard like people usually describe. They were kind of soft.

I tried gargling with salt water, and one of the smaller patches disappeared. It left behind a faint white mark on the surface. The bigger one didn’t go away though, so I gently used a Q-tip to massage the area. After that, the lump-like part reduced, but there’s still a visible white patch on the skin.

So now I’m a bit confused, could this still be tonsil stones, or is it something else?

Has anyone experienced something similar?

I added before and after pics here 🙂

What could have happened to me? Was explained as something like 'syncope without cause'. Worst experience of my life

AFAB, 27

187 pounds

quetiapine, ampheatmine ER, fluoxetine, lamotrigine

gallbladder is gonezo

I woke up feeling really off one morning about a year and a half ago.

I remember that was dizzy and nauseous, my legs were super weak and my knees kept collapsing under me. I had to keep sitting down while I was trying to get ready for the day and had crazy vertigo. Drank a bunch of water and rested for a bit, and surprisingly felt a little better. Ate breakfast. Decided to stick it out for the day since a friend and I had plans.

One hour later was waiting in line for a faire. We had been waiting less than 10 minutes and it wasn't even hot out.

Started feeling even worse out of nowhere even though I had walked through the parking lot mostly okay, and had to keep sitting down and kneeling because my vision was tunneling and going black. Felt nauseous and my whole body felt insanely heavy and numb, kinda cold. I was sweating profusely. Felt like a bunch of saliva was building up under my tongue and in my throat somehow. Struggled to walk or stand and was slurring a bit according to my friend and to the faire employee that came to help.

I was taken to the paramedic tent at the faire and they took my vitals while laying, sitting, and (cautiously) standing. Felt ok but still awful while laying down, genuinely almost passed out when I stood and they immediately told me to sit again. Gave me IV fluids at the faire and then I was taken by ambulance to the closest hospital and given a chest x-ray and blood tests, along with more IV fluids.

Was discharged with something like 'unexplained syncope', with a note stating it was likely due to dehydration after a day of being passed out in the hospital room I was in.

I drink so much water my pee is clear lmao, and electrolyte drinks as well. This has never happened to me before that or since then, but I worry about it often. I have never felt so ill before and I actually thought I was dying for several hours. Not sure how I could have possibly been dehydrated since I down like 100+ ounces of fluid a day, but...

Anyways, like I said, I worry about this at times but I always get brushed off. It was the worst I've felt in my whole life, so I get a bit nervous that it might happen again since they basically said 'drink more water' even though my urine is like see through.

What possibilities could I inquire about at an appointment? Could this have just been a one-off thing? Even just thinking about it makes me dizzy and nauseous in a second-hand way lmao

Terrys nailsm

Terrys nailsm

Do these look like Terry's nails?

I'm a 37yo white male. 5'9"198lbs. High (but improving) cholesterol (down to 221 two weeks ago from 235 6 months ago total, 180 triglycerides, 40 hdl, 145 ldl, 181non hdl), high blood pressure (around 145/95 unmedicated, 125/85 on 5mg omestartan). Aside from high cholesterol, my only abnormal blood markers are low alkaline phosphate (41), and high apolipoprotein b (148). I live in Colorado.

I've been working on losing weight and eating right because of the cholesterol and high BP, and metrics have been improving but I noticed my nails today and I'm concerned.

I'm not against going back to the doctor, but wanted to check here, as copays are stacking up.

Do these look like anything to be concerned about?

My muscles are so tight it is destroying my life and I have no idea what to do

My muscles are constantly tight and I have lost my career and relationships due to it.  The tension keeps me awake at night.  If I do manage to fall asleep I wake up in the middle of the night with my muscles so tense that they are in pain.  I pull muscles from reaching for something, bending over, sneezing, etc.

I have tried massage.  The person giving the massage often comments that I am so tense and need to learn to relax.

I have tried medication.  Muscle relaxers and benzos don’t relax my muscles but at least knock me out so I can sleep.

I tried mediation.  It worked sometimes for a bit but no longer does. I would feel slightly more relaxed but the tight muscles were still there.

I tried stretching, foam rolling, and core strengthening.  It might help a tiny bit one day and then the next make it much worse.  Even doing this every day for a month showed little to no improvement and again often worsening symptoms. I was doing planks and tables daily until I got shooting nerve pain down by back and legs that only went away after stopping weeks.

I’ve mentioned to a few GPs and they all just kinda shrug and say it is probably anxiety.  None of the standard blood tests point to anything.  I know other people with anxiety and none of them seem to have this issue to this extent.  I am 46 M, more active and healthy than my parents but have less energy and ability to exercise.  I feel a hundred years old. I've always had this problem but it is continuing to get worse.

Is this really anxiety and I have to learn to live with it or am I missing something?  I’ve had therapists tell me to quiet stressful jobs and have done that, only to still be stressed while unemployed, then still stressed again at the next job.  Unless I win the lotto I don’t see how I can reduce stress much more.

maybe seizure???? i don’t know m maybe

17 years old I am very worried maybe

I wrote this halfway after my consciousness flicked out i don’t remember the first half i just grabbed my phone and started typing

dude i have no idea what happen my consciousness just whited out it was like i was underwater, more accurately the fuzz you get when you’re completely high but im sober and my brain just shut off for a second before rebooting when I snapped myself out of it. i was in the dark and i saw a mosquito so i went to go reach over and turn on the light so when i did that i just froze and caught myself falling back. afterwards i was so confused i just stared with wide eye wondering.

what happened to me, i know the feeling of low blood pressure it’s more so of a haze rather than this i’ve never felt this unless i was high off my rockers and it was for a few seconds before im out catching myself. i haven’t slept much, an hour? out of 24 hours and have been up the whole day and can’t sleep as i’ve also drank an enter drink like 7 hours ago. the back of my head hurts kind of tingles even though i didn’t hit it. it’s hard to describe the location exactly but it’s through my eyes lower back of head and my vision is blurring a bit. maybe it doesn’t hurt but it tingles like tickles it’s like a light imagine playing the pianos were replaced by soft fingertips that’s what it feels like. looking around the room feels so weird it makes me feel bad. my vision is unfocused. i suddenly grabbed a water bottle and it slowed like i was capturing it slower then i was reaching for it.

my grandma had seizures but my mom never had one nor me. i’m panicking and i got really really unbearably sad after the bottle and starting crying also im sad because my phone cover like the small corner for the camera lense case just fell off and i don’t remember dropping my phone while reaching but the thing is i don’t remember what i first wrote. I cried and i don’t remember how long it lasted for but maybe 10 minutes.

but now an empty space occupies the tingling? + my brain hurt again wave coming in from left side focal point rushing in to spread it feels like actual waves + i mean i’m fine it’s just i know a feeling in my chest heat like softly tapping against my collarbone and warmth in my left breast with a heart beat like jump rope level 900 i don’t know how to explain it but i feel it from 2 sides like it’s tangible the head migrated to the chest

hi so i walk a bit straight but standing still causes my knees to twitch bucking a bit when i try to set them forward and i have to concentrate. when i was looking in the mirror my face looked not real if it made sense i pushed my fingers against my cheeks and it didn’t look right still. also my left eye kinda twitched occasionally

i tried to get those answers but they were buried i keep disconnecting from my body when i called my friend and i just cried but i don’t cry it just warm now this is because i called my friend

Nose has been congested/running for nearly 10 years.

Hi. I'm 18M I moved from Nigeria to Canada in summer of 2016. I've had a constant problem with my nose where it will run or get blocked every 15-30 minutes. It has been especially annoying when I try to attend social events or hang out with friends. It also seems to get SIGNIFICANTLY worse during intense cardio. When I play soccer or go for a run my nose runs or blocks every couple minutes.

The two main changes I have made in my life is that I moved from a coastal to an inland city with significantly dryer climate and started eating tangerines(Had them for the first time when I moved and became kind of addicted to them and eat 2-3 a day).

The two main problems with these hypothesis' is that I have traveled to other cities for multiple weeks at a time and never noticed a significant change in my condition and I ate oranges just fine before coming to Canada.

I have been to two doctors and they just gave me a saline nasal spray and sent me on my way.

I would really appreciate it if someone could help me cure this. I would love to finally be rid of this.

Anaphylaxis?? I need answers

A little over a week ago I noticed my legs were itching, small tiny bumps started to appear and soon they covered my inner thighs, arms, my hips and love handles. I went to the ER 2 days ago, they gave me Benadryl and 2 other pills and prescribed me hydrocortisone and prednisone. I told the guy that Benadryl nor hydrocortisone was helping me and that I recently started feeling tightness in my throat. He shined a quick light and told me my airways looked fine.

Fast forward to today, the hives are spreading and worsening and my tongue feels almost like it’s in an uncomfortable spot, my nose is heavily congested and I keep coughing mucus. It’s hard to clear my throat so I sound wheezy and hoarse, is this early anaphylaxis? I’ve had an allergic reaction in the past but it was nothing like this, I also never found out what it was caused by and I have no idea what this flare up is being caused by either.

Should I revisit the ER?

known hormonal issues severe periods no diagnosis

for context: asian-american. 17f. started menstruation in 3rd grade (8-9 years old). short because of that (expected 5’2”, i’m 4’9”). irregular periods (could happen after two weeks, could happen after five months). heavy bleeding. intense pain. labs revealed high testosterone but normal estrogen levels.

since i first went to a doctor and had labs done, i’ve been on the progesterone-only pill. i’ve only had my period about five times since i started, which was a year and a half ago. initially, in the first few months, my periods were light with little pain. but since the third period and after, the heavy bleeding and intense pain returned. the mini pill did not regulate my cycle, it only made it less frequent so i had to deal with the severe symptoms less.

i know a lot of people talk about pcos when dealing with similar symptoms. however, i think it’s important to note that i don’t experience severe acne or weight issues. i’m a normal weight for my height (after being underweight for a couple of years) and have relatively clear skin (despite its oiliness). i don’t experience male pattern balding and, while hairy on my arms and legs, don’t grow hair on my back, chest, or face. birth control is often used to help regulate pcos, but the only way it’s helped me is by making my period less frequent so i deal with the symptoms less. so i’m not sure it’s that.

i would appreciate a second opinion because i have no idea what this could be or what to do to regulate it. if there’s any ideas as to what it might be so i can explore a diagnosis, that would also be appreciated.

Very obnoxious bump on my lip

Very obnoxious bump on my lip

It appeared last week, and it felt just like a typical bump. It healed yesterday almost fully, and today I woke up and accidentally bit it extremely hard during breakfast. Now it is like this. it’s obnoxious and gets worse every-time I drink, eat, or talk. It’s not painful or leaky - just annoying and uncomfortable.

I iced it and it did nothing. The ice was also too painful to keep on my lip for long

How can I bring the swelling down and heal it asap? Also is it just a result of a bite, or is it something different?

Tonsil asymmetry…Any ENT Specialist?

33 years old, female — About 3-4 weeks ago, I had a sore throat only on my right side. The pain is gone now, but my right tonsil still looks larger than my left and remains unchanged.

I think the swelling could have always been there because I’ve never really looked at my tonsils closely before.

Lump in the buttcheek glutes area?

Lump in the buttcheek glutes area?

I have been noticing slight pain/discomfort on my left buttcheeks area and just thought I been sitting on the computer chair too much but today I noticed more discomfort and began inspecting.

When I’m standing it is hard to feel the lump but when I sit down and I touch around my butt cheeks I can feel a lump. I think I can move the lump around when sitting. The lump does not putrude out it’s like inside the skin and fat.

Anyone know what this is? It’s can’t be cancer right? Any advice on what to do to narrow it down on what it is? :/

Looking to see if any one could help me with this rough skin on my hands.

For some details I have had these for a long time atleast back when I around 13 I would want to say and I am currently 23. The skin is rough and I wouldn't say it's painful really either. I tried google but most stuff that came up for rough skin was vastly different to this. It hasn't spread in anyway or gotten worse and given I have had is 10 years roughly now and it not having really spread in any way I can see I doubt it is too serious. I also don't do any job that requires me to use my hands roughly although I do game alot. I am also Male if that helps.

What the heck is happening to me

Backstory:

I’ve had strange “episodes” for years, chalked it up to disassociation or something related to my bipolar disorder. Never followed up, husband begged, end of 2024 I went to a neurologist. Got diagnosed with “seizure activity”, put on therapeutic dose of lamictal (which worked out bc I knew I reacted well to it in the past at lower doses with mood stabilization).

This ended up helping a lot….for a time. Had a very small handful of episodes, nothing compared to the frequency of before. Bumped the dose once a few months ago, thought I was golden!

October 2025: major personal life event kickstarted (not health related, emotion-related) and it’s caused a tremendous amount of stress and adrenaline and heartbreak. Just recently things kind of “wrapped up” (trauma with close family member) so ive been processing all that. Idk if it matters it just feels like important context that I’ve been under a ton of stress.

Had two of these “episodes” or supposed seizures in the last two months, mild. Kinda slept them off.

Then this weekend, disaster struck. Was feeling off, like kinda headachy and weak and couldn’t quite think straight. Stupid me just wanted to get home from work. It escalated, a cop actually pulled me over. Of course they thought I was drunk I was acting so out of it. But my family came, explained my history, ambulance came to take me to the ER. I had a very bad panic attack in the ambulance. At the ER my blood and urine obviously showed no substances. BUT they told me it also showed that I had no sign of a seizure????? And they did an EKG, just kind of elevated heart stuff maybe due to the panicking.

Obviously following up with neuro tomorrow since they’ve been closed for the weekend. I’m lost, confused, scared. Is it even a seizure issue if it was just noted as “seizure activity” in the past? What else could it be?? The episodes are like:

-confusion

-slurring kinda

-loss of memory or just cannot follow a thought

-exhaustion after

-sometimes motor skills get funky, or at least I get shakey/trembly

-very very veryyyy anxious and upset and sometimes agitated as hell but mainly very freaked out

But I’ve been manic of course in the past, I was diagnosed with bipolar 10 years ago, it’s so different from that. I’ve also had psychosis before and again that was very different. And this has only been a worsening thing in the last few years…..

Any other ideas? Any tests/labs I should really push for since I’ve done an EEG and MRI? The original mention in 2024 when we got the “seizure activity” info was maybe focal seizures. But it’s scaring me that the blood test in the ER showed no signs of anything like that.
