Trim & feature tiles in bathroom

Need help!

These green sea tiles are not really our style.

But we can’t afford to completely retile and they aren’t in bad shape either it feels so wasteful.

I was considering painting over the tile but the texture might make it look really bad.

I am not thinking to pant the wall a forest or sage green, paint the floor tiles grout black and bring in lots of plants and brass fixtures.

Any other ideas would be amazing - thank you 🙏🏽

Gallery wall- looking for feedback

I started this gallery wall over my credenza. My original thought was to have it stay in like with the width of the credenza. However now I’m wondering if it should extend farther out. It feels empty around it? I’ve never had a gallery wall and I’m wondering how this looks from someone else’s view. Does it look good? Does it look off? Any feedback is helpful Ty!

Can’t figure out where to put our massive television

We just bought this house! The rooms here were IKEA blue and yellow and this is my nearly completed paint job. The first pic is the family room on the floor plan and second pic is the living room.

There are sliding glass doors on the left wall adjacent to the arched windows in the family room. With the multiple doorways to other rooms / open concept with kitchen, i really don’t know where to put our 65” tv. The French doors in pic 2 go into the family room. Planning to put a desk for WFH under the windows next to French doors.

A big pain point in our current tiny apartment is having to navigate around my husband when he’s playing video games on the tv. So I really want to avoid the tv/seating situation obstructing a walkway through the rooms!

Any ideas? We’re getting new furniture so asides from the tv itself and its mammoth size, open to all suggestions:)

I’ve stared at the floor plan and walked around the house long enough but i can’t think of a great option.

Note: I do not need the couch to face the tv head on, we’d like to have armchairs angled across from the tv if possible!

Can't seem to find a workable layout.

photo is a mock-up showing how we currently have it. my desk used to be behind the couch/cube shelves but it's now in the bedroom.

thought this would give us a lot more flexibility but... it's not.

some restrictions: partner doesn't want his desk on the wall with the door because there is a window there.

back of the tv cabinet doesn't look great so we would prefer if that's not "floating". (however we are happy to get something smaller) our tv is small, so the couch can't be too far away from the tv.

cant replace the desk or the couch.

What would be the best layout for my bedroom?

I'm moving into a new apartment soon and have been trying to figure out placement for my furniture. I recreated it in the Sims just to get a visual and I'm kind of leaning towards the first option, but wanted some other opinions.

My bedroom gives me a headache

Hi,

Please help me with my room, I decided to move my table towards the window to motivate me to get some sunlight while I study, but now I feel like the balance of the room is off.

In the past couple months I've decluttered my belongings which is why compared to the previous Layouts (included photos) it might seem more bland and clinical. I also had to get a new desk since the one I was using was falling apart and too small.

Goals: Cozy, Where do I place my desk? (it used to be in the dresser corner).

- I'm not allowed to nail anything in (hence why all the wall hangings are non framed)

- I have an ugly generic white table (I think this is why I hate it so much)

- I can't move my bed position (but I am thinking of changing to cotton bedsheets- my pillow cases are in the washer right now)

- I'm thinking of replacing my dresser with an IKEA cube shelf and having little cubes where I organize my clothes in (I like my current dresser but it is currently collapsing in the center due to the weight of the tray I have on there.)

- I hate carpet flooring but that's what I have to have. I also cannot paint the walls.

Feel free to draw out any alternative layouts or inspiration photos you'd recommend. I like pops of color within a cozy environment (as noted with my previous room layouts, but I've since decluttered which is why it might not be as cozy as it is clinical with the white table)

Layout advice needed: sectional, dining, maximum hosting potential 🪩🛋️

SOS: Moving into a new apartment & i’m frazzled.

I need to furnish the entire living space and I’m starting with the couch… but I’m stressing about the layout. Help!

My non-negotiables:

* A sectional or L-shaped couch (because yes, we lounge hard)

* Tons of seating for friends—hosting is my life

The tricky part: bar & kitchen behind, a window in the middle of the wall… now I can’t figure out:

* Where the TV should go

* Which side the chaise should be on

* How to maximize seating without making the space feel chopped up

Also open to ideas: kitchen nook for dining, or squeeze a dining area into the long main room?

If helpful, my style leans Scandinavian / Danish / Mid-Century Modern but colorful cozy and lil eclectic.

Any tips, sketches, “aha!” moments are SO welcome. After a shitty living situation the past year, I’m desperate to make the best of this space and finally something I think of as home. ❤️

I like the look of L or U couches but i also recognize the space might be too small. What seating can I do that’s cozy and can sear people comfortably?

I was originally looking between this two colors but figured I’d ask the pros! Unfortunately all the trim is painted on so I figured I’d just redo it in white but I am completely open to your suggestions!

I can't figure out how to living room

I'm perpetually frustrated by the layout of my living room, and I can't figure out how to make it both functional and look decent. This is the floorplan (with some ideas we had):

https://preview.redd.it/bf981rz2o7tg1.png?width=643&format=png&auto=webp&s=972a3a2f4fd82e3a3756c6f6402bd1f80a89a152

First of all, the living room is rather small.

https://preview.redd.it/mzp8wozio7tg1.png?width=1184&format=png&auto=webp&s=664214f63e57c39139bf787552007cc0894ee3b0

Secondly, the main activity we do in it is watch TV together, and the television placement feels impossible.

I don't want to put the TV front of the windows. I don't want to put the couch in front of the windows. I can't put the TV in the passage-way. That only leaves the longest of the walls open, but if I want a couch to sit on, then I need to make it be floating without touching any wall, otherwise it obstructs the passage.

But in turn, that makes the TV become the visual centrepiece of the room which just looks... bad imo.

So we were thinking of getting something like this that could cover up the TV when not in use:

https://preview.redd.it/mw6y85x3q7tg1.png?width=900&format=png&auto=webp&s=a63f252b235029f3aa8ecb0860753bb7bb81832e

But any kind of shelving on that wall would pertrude past the window frame which, again, looks not great and _also_ blocks the already limited natural light.

Looking for advice!

What should I put above this toy storage area?

What should I put above this toy storage area?

This corner is my 5 month old’s main play area in our teeny apartment. Thinking of replacing the painting with a cute wall decal, like a giant tree. Or maybe I make it a gallery wall for all her future daycare art? Would love your ideas!

Important note: we only plan to stay in this apartment for another year, then we will move to a house where she can ideally have an entire playroom. So no majorly expensive or permanent ideas, please!

Also excuse the mess I have a cold today and didn’t feel like cleaning up during her nap 😬

Living room design ideas.

Good afternoon all.

Myself and my wife absolutely hate interior design and have no creativity.

We are looking to do something with our front room after we recently got rid of a large vivarium which was on the back wall. We are on a budget and do not wish to change either the wood effect furniture, the flooring or the sofa. we are open to changing the room colour, bookshelf and finding something that we can put on the back wall.

Extra information that may be useful. The windows are North facing, so the room does not see any direct sun light. We would like to add storage if possible so that we can bring our board game collection in from another room and have them together with the books etc. We wouldn't be against adding an additional chair to create a sort of reading nook, but this isn't a requirement.

Any input or suggestions greatly appreciated.
