Wondering how to make this space feel warmer and have more depth. Have to keep the black appliances and tile floors. Do not want to paint cabinets.

Thinking of doing wallpaper under the trim and leave the ceiling alone, updating hardware/lights, changing counters and backsplash. Would appreciate any suggestions!

(Rug and items in photo are previous owners, would not be staying).
