New bunny owner help please!

So this bunny has been hanging around my yard for a few days and to be completely honest I didn’t realize it was domestic until today. Immediately upon being told this I brought him inside, went to the pet store and bought what the pet store guy told me to get (pellets and bedding). We reached out to some bunny rescues and they’re all at capacity, and to be honest I’ve already fallen in love with him. So we’d like to keep him. We have a spare room in our house (my office for when I work from home). We’re planning on calling a vet that sees bunnies in the morning. We overnight ordered some timothy hay I believe it’s called and will have that ASAP. But neither I nor my fiance know anything about bunnies. The internet/chatgpt has been somewhat helpful but I’m trying to figure out what I need to buy realistically to give this guy the best life. I know bunnies are a big responsibility, but we have the time, money, space, and love so I would appreciate any guidance or advice yall have.

How can I protect these bunnies from my dog/in general?

My dog found some bunnies in the back yard earlier this evening. Before I could stop him, he picked one up (apparently gingerly because the bunny survived) and carried it around. I just went back outside and found them, huddled up together. I think the one on the right that looks wet is the one that my dog played with.

I don't intend to take them as pets or anything, but them continuing to live in my yard is probably going to result in repeat encounters with my dog. Are these bunnies even large enough to be out on their own, away from their mother? What does r/Bunnies think?

This healing video of the cleaning bun will wash your troubles away instantly🌸

Also: any tips on how to maintain nails without traumatizing them or losing their trust? Worked so hard so long for her to finally let her walls down, so scared to tarnish the relationship

Dumped rabbit desexing

I rescued this big guy three weeks ago. He was apparently living by the road for quite sometime. I have named him Pablo. He is slowly putting on weight and some ticks removed and I’ve witness a quite a few flops and a few head binkys. The issue is he isn’t desexed and is currently spraying everywhere as I have a desexed male rabbit. I need to find a home for him but want him desexed first but I don’t have the funds to do so (I’m a nursing student so things are tight) I’ve reached out to a number of rescue organisations and none have contacted me back. What should I do? I’m in Sydney Australia.

TW I feel guilty.

This little girl, Morty.
When I was 13 years old, we got her at a petstore with my dad after instantly falling in love.

She got pregnant by my bunny boy whom I still have. I was hospitalized at that time for some time, so my dad was with them two alone. She was skittish so they had a big enclosure for sleeping, and they bonded well afaik. (we always let them free roam)
The first pregnancy, she gave birth to 5 babies, but didn't want to take care of them, so we did. One by one they died, after a week or two of care, waking up at 4am to feed 5 little babies. I blame myself everyday.
Somehow she got pregnant again, I don't remember stuff that clearly anymore. All I know is she didn't want to take care of them, and they were already dying in front of my eyes as I found them in her enclosure. She was breathing weird and I was scared, I was crying by her cage, I didn't understand anything, I blamed her for not taking care of them. We took her to the vet, I was bawling my eyes out. They told us to leave, 30 min later they said she passed away. She had some complications due to the pregnancy.

How could I be so negligent and let this happen. I blame myself so much to this day. I'm going to be 21 years old and I still cry at night and hope she understands. I feel like i killed her and killed her babies. I feel like it's my fault, I failed then and there. I absolutely despise myself for it. I just hope wherever afterlife is they understand. I don't need them to forgive me, I just want them to know I never wanted any of that to happen. I want them to know I tried my best, and I'm so sorry for being mean. I should've loved and embraced her in her last moments.

Domestic bunny?

Found this small bunny behind a house. Is it domestic or wild? You think it was abandoned? Upstate NY - Any idea what kind? TY

Is this a red flag?

My rabbit mocha was killed a few days ago and I had a total of three rabbits (only 2 now) pippin and Roger, P and M were bonded for years, we tried many times to bond Roger and clover (dead) with them but they all fought with poor mocha being the punching bag, so we stopped trying and keeper them near each other but not together
Anyways when clover died we tried bonding again and Roger and mocha got along, pippin and him still fought so we didn’t try for a while again. Come back to current day- both the second rabbit in the bonded pairs are dead leaving two non-bonded bunnies, pippin and Roger, both aggressive

Now having been living next to each other the past over 5 Years
I don’t want them to be sad since they witnessed mochas death and pippin was very very close to his brother so im trying to bond them again

Long story short since their respectively bonded pairs are dead im trying to bond them together so they won’t be lonely and depressed

Is it a red flag when:

Roger flinches when popping licks his nose, keeping in mind Roger comes from a horder house and has a bad past woth other rabbits and isn’t a fan of petting on the face specifically nose.
2.
When roger humps pippin for like 6 seconds, should I stop this from happening? (Both boys and both neutered, same age)
3.
Getting close to each others face staring at each other with intent

I think are good, correct me of wrong:

Roger grinding his teeth
2.
Both bunnies loafing/laying down
3.
Pipping giving Roger face licks
4.
Roger giving pipping ear licks

Advice please no judgment

I recently saw a post on another platform about someone’s litter box and everyone in the comments said they cleaned their bunnies litter out everyday or scoop it? Can someone explain this to me? How do you scoop out a bunnies litter box? I’m wondering if I’m using the wrong litter ? My bunny has his hay hung up on the wall so it’s not in the litter box and I clean it twice a week but sometimes the litter is so expensive what are ppl using to be able to clean out their litter daily? Any advice is welcome

Is Lance getting too fat?

I tried looking at the illustrations on Google but none of them match Lance. But since he's starting to flop and stretch on his belly now, I think it would be easier to tell? Here's the best photo I've gotten of him. I noticed this giant circle in his mid section and I'm wondering if he's supposed to look like that or if that's a sign of obesity

How could I make his enclosure even better?

Pippin is still very young, somewhere between 8-10 weeks old. I've slowly made his enclosure bigger and added more things since I got him. Right now he spends time here, about a 5ftx5ft space and about an hour a day free roaming my living room/kitchen/dining room area but I am still in the process of bunny proofing. He's still mastering potty training but has done a fantastic job so far, he's also still a little skittish and my biggest concern with free roam is he's still very young, delicate, and I don't want him to eat anything bad or get scared and run off somewhere he's hard to find.

I'm currently in the process of remodeling my semi finished basement and making it his free roam area, while working on it I can actively think about things that would be best for a bunny proofed area. My basement is big and already has a tile that has a grooved design and isn't slippery, but we're considering going ahead and laying carpet. Size wise it's the same layout as my top floor, only the kitchen, dining and living rooms are just combined into one big room, then there's a bathroom, a laundry room and a storage room. I can easily close off the access to these rooms.

So, while I tackle these projects and get bunny proofed for more free roam time, how can I make this enclosure even better? He currently has 2 bowls one for water and one for pellets, a bunny hide, a litterbox (all of these strategically placed in the corners bc he's a sucker for peeing in a corner still plus give him running space) a snufflemat, toys, chew sticks, a hay bag and trough. Is there anything I'm missing? Also any advice while remodeling the basement for him would be appreciated 😊 I just want to make sure I'm doing everything I can to make his bunny life amazing.

Bunny flops- Gets me every time

I swear my bunny finds joy in giving me a heart attack😂.

It's so incredibly cute when they flop, but always scary when you miss the actual flop and just see them laying like that haha.

Feel free to share your cute bunny flops!

Bun less happy after being spayed

My 1 yr old bun was spayed a month ago. Before this, he jumps a lot,has lots of attitude and has a grudge toward my husband lol. Those went away and he is more docile now but I noticed now he doesn’t binky or does zoomies anymore though he still eats hay, pellets, drinks and poops normally. Is something wrong? What can I do to make him happy 🥹

How to stop him from chewing cardboard

Basically the title. We’re moving, and Corduroy loves cardboard more than me, which is fine, but I need these boxes to stay intact for a few more days and I don’t know how to keep him from it.
