Lease Transfer - 2024 BMW i5 M60 in FL - $1,193 (+ incentive) - <18 months

Post here before putting on swapalease but no longer need two cars and looking to swap my 2024 BMW i5 M60 that is in perfect condition, never smoked in, carefully maintained, and is literally my favorite car that I've ever owned.

Details:

  • $1,193 per month with FL taxes
    • willing to give a $3k transfer incentive
  • 11k miles on the car so there are 19k remaining
  • 18 months remaining
  • Oxide Grey with Espresso interior
  • Tinted windows
  • No scratches, dents, or other... car is garage kept
  • Basically every package except M Sport (front black grill and spoiler) but has cooling seats which is perfection for the warmer climates
  • $91k MSRP

Happy to be here!

Thanks to all the sub members who shared their MSRP discounts! I managed to secure a 12% discount before any incentives were applied.

I’m excited to share that I’ve purchased a 2026 xDrive40 in Oxide Gray with an Espresso interior. It’s fully loaded with the m sport, DAPP, executive package, luxury seat, and more that I’m sure I’m missing.

The car is absolutely stunning, and I’m thoroughly enjoying the driving experience provided by the electric motors. As a first-time EV owner, I’m looking forward to the next three years of my lease.

I’m still in the process of learning about the car’s features and capabilities. Is there anything a new owner should be particularly aware of?

Hello! My new i5

Just picked up a new i5 xdrive40 M professional in Carbon Black Metallic eith Espresso Brown interior. Love it so far after two days. Just sold my Rivian R1S that I owned for only two months. After some seat time in it, there were some things that annoyed me so I sold it and picked this one up.

Glad to be back in a BMW after years away and look forward to learning from the community. Cheers🍻

M60 Carbon Trim

I know it may not be everyone’s cup of tea but we couldn’t stand the gloss trim anymore. The scratches, smudge, and glare on daily rising sun commutes were a bear.

Opted for true carbon fiber in a matte finish. Works well with the M60 interior’s sportier feel. The kit was pricey but authentic carbon fiber and paper thin. It was so perfectly cut that it installs as well as factory trim.

It did come with other pieces we opted not to install (sides of console and steering wheel trim). We just wanted to replace the largest areas of the gloss trim.

New App Version Charge Messages

Don’t know why the new app version is giving me this low power message. Car says I’m charging at 8kW just like always. 32A.

I like the old screen better with the large blue meter. This is not an improvement.

Saloon boot liner

I'm picking up my i5 saloon on Friday and I'm looking for a boot liner to keep it clean when I put my golf clubs in, found a few mats but nothing to cover the sides. Anyone found one? I'm in the UK.

Replacing Cabin Air Filter

Hey folks,

I have a 2024 e40. I need to replace the inside air filter and don't want to pay ransom to the local dealer. However, all I can find video wise is on an i4. Does anyone have suggestions where I could find a do it yourself i5 video? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Middle-aged dad, been driving practical SUVs and minivans my whole adulthood. sick of black/gray/silver/white SUVs everywhere. ready for a 4 door car that I can fit my 4 kids in, but also moves. I would like an electric car but i'm not religious about it.

I'm looking at a couple used 2024 M60s (have also looked at Lucids, not interested in a tesla).

seems like people love their i5s. M60 are not that easy to find.

I have scrolled some through this sub, but nothing huge jumps out at me except: frequent tire changes, depreciation, and range degradation over time?

how is the handsfree driving? Is it just highway assist or will it self-drive a route?

Wondering what the white line is indicating that the car is projecting into the camera view?

Talk-to-Text

Talk-to-text no longer works through the CarPlay App. Where should I start checking? My car is a 2026 BMW i5. I believe that I've applied the latest updates. My phone is an iPhone 16 running iOS 26.4.2.

I have already:

  • Removed and re-paired the phone in the car, no joy.

This happens mostly after my wife uses the car with her keys and phone. It's frustrating enough that I'm about ready to take the car back to BMW. It doesn't help that I spent the weekend driving my '95 M3 at an autocross which leaves me nostalgic for simpler times.

Questions on potential CPO i5 vs. new stock

I've been scrolling through this subreddit for a few weeks but first time posting on it.

I'm looking for an EV sedan. I drove a relative's Tesla M3 for several weeks as a daily driver but I hated how sterile and utilitarian it was. I've driven BMW 3-series in the past (parents each had an E46 and E93 cabrios which I would sometimes drive them in when I was young and I loved them).

I've been eyeing some i5s on the road and went to my local BMW dealer and sat in some to get a feel.

My use case is that I live in Southern California, have a L2 charger at home with J1772, switching from an 8 year old Honda sedan, daily 40-mile roundtrip commute mainly on highways, would also like to use it on the weekends as short trip family car within SoCal with a 3yr old in a car seat and potentially having another baby in the next year. Our other car is a small SUV for longer trips.

If I could build a brand new BMW i5 on the website, it seems like an eDrive with M Sport design, the driver assistance, and the executive packages would be great. It'd be around $77K MSRP. My main concern with new EVs is the depreciation, and I've been looking into CPOs, 2024s seem to be in the mid-40s but without the executive packages in my area.

My main questions are:

  1. Any certain add-ons / packages that are necessary to really enjoy the car? Any that are over-rated?

Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Bit of a random post:

First car I've ordered and I've never been more excited. 2027 i5 xdrive40 in tanzanite blue with copper brown interior. Should be here this summer. I know there's a lot of hype around the Neue Klasse models but I've wanted 5 series for at least a decade, and when they announced the i5 I knew I would get one eventually.

Having driven other EVs a bit I will say I think BMW makes the best out there. While the i5 is probably too luxe to be mainstream, the i4 is probably overall the best EV ever made. Reliable, high quality, fun to drive, good charging speed, and normal looking. It's a shame they will no longer make the current generation.

I wonder what the state of the EV market would look like today if the US presidential election had gone differently. Just as EV infrastructure was seeing huge improvements and expansion, many automakers basically threw in the towel. I can only hope that despite roadblocks investment continues and the world moves toward electrification.

But hey, cheers to the i5 owners out there. Can't wait for mine!

Has anybody else experienced a 4-5% battery discharge overnight ? I’m yet to confirm it officially (will do that tonight) but pretty sure it drops by 4-5%.

Thinking it could be weather based (as we have a lot of changing weather atm) but I’m not sure if that even makes sense. Is that more to do with the range rather than battery percentage right ?

Pls help with decide between options

This will be my first BMW (or any European car), we have always owned Japanese.

I was originally planning to get i4, but after test driving i5 we both fell in love with it.

Looking to get a 1-2 year old i5, preferably xDrive50 (dont know how important AWD is, but we have always driven AWD). The area we live in, does not get much of snow but it does get good amount of rain.

We are in our late 40s and comfort is more important to use than performance/thrill.

In terms of packages, I would prefer Executive (Premium is almost always there), Driving assist & front heated/ventilated seats.

Looking at the following two vehicles -

  1. 2025 i5 eDrive40, 5K miles - priced around 55K. Packages - 20" wheels, M sports & Professional, Premium, Panoramic roof, Bowers & Wilkins sound system, Front ventilated seats, Full LED with cornering lights, and a few other bells and whistles that I don't really care about.
  2. 2026 i5 xDrive40, less than 1K miles - priced around 65K. Packages - 20" wheels, M sports & Professional, Premium.
  3. 2026 i5 eDrive40, 1200 miles - priced at 64K. Packages - 20" wheels, Premium, Bowers & Wilkins sound system, Front ventilated seats.

We are in the US, specifically south east region but I am looking for cars nationally and would not mind driving or getting it shipped.

Which one would be a good deal? #2 and #3 are almost the same price, the difference being eDrive (upgraded sound system) vs xDrive (with M sports & prof).

I dont have insight to make a decision between AWD + M packages vs upgraded sound system.

Also it would be great if folks could help assess the listed price and if you think there is room for negotiation.

I live in a place where the road has seen better days. Bought a used i5 xdrive40 with 20" winter and 21" summer wheels. 20" winter felt good. 21" too firm. Swapped them on the used market for 20"s, and I still think they are firmer than the winter tires. (Not runflats.) Might improve after a break-in period though.

Anyone tested all sizes? Big difference in comfort going from 20" to 19" for summer tires?

How do/will you wash your i5 ? I got mine in carbon black and washing it through an automatic car wash will mean scratches all over the place. Do you wash yours by hand ? How do you avoid the scratches ?
