Pls pls help my River 🙏💔Emergency surgery is now River's only chance—I'm doing everything I can not to lose him.

I am reaching out to everyone—to those who have been following River’s journey and to those who are meeting him for the first time. As many of you know, River has been fighting since May 1 due to a severe blockage and an enlarged bladder. After days of intensive flushing and 24/7 care, we were so hopeful when his May 6 ultrasound showed he was clear of sediments and his urine finally became clear of blood by May 9. Since he was peeing on his own from May 7 to 12, I made the difficult decision to bring him home to manage his care and try to stop the mounting confinement fees, even though he still had some bloody, watery stools.
However, everything changed this morning, May 13. River began peeing very small amounts with visible blood multiple times, and it became clear that his condition was not improving. The vet has told us that surgery is now the only way to stop this cycle and save his life. I had to decide on the spot, and I agreed because I cannot let him suffer and I simply cannot lose him. River is the only one I have left in my life, and it is so hard for me to give up on him, even as my financial situation gets harder to manage. I have already covered River's last remaining running bill using my very last savings, and now that we are facing a whole new set of expenses for his surgery, I am truly in need of help once again.
I want you to know that I’ve tried to look for cheaper options that people suggested, but we ended up staying with Petelier. They are the most affordable clinic near us, and we have already built a level of trust with them. The other lower-cost clinics are unfortunately too far from our house for me to safely transport him. I am attaching the new running bill for his surgery to this post, and I am humbly knocking on your hearts.
Honestly, it hurts my pride to do this and I feel so much shame, but I’m doing it for my River. I don’t want to reach a point where I regret not doing everything I could while he is still fighting. I am just trying not to lose him. For anyone who needs more proof of River’s current status or condition, I am more than willing to show him to you through photos or videos. He is so important to me, and I never wanted any of this to happen to him. Even just one small help, any amount, or even just sharing/boosting this post and offering prayers would already mean a lot more than I can express.

Donations desperately needed for severely neglected heartworm positive young doggy who needs life saving treatment

Meet Sissy! She is a young, heartworm positive 35 lb border collie/lab mix dog who is estimated to be 1-1.5 yrs old.

Despite being severely neglected and malnourished she trusted me enough to let me help her. She was eating trash and plastic from nearby dumpster. She was injured and in heat but still very friendly and loving. I contacted local rescues and shelters but they unfortunately did not have room or resources to offer assistance so l decided to take her home.

My initial plan was to keep her safe with the purpose of eventually finding her placement so that she could be fully vetted. In the meantime I have taken her to check ups, started her on preventives, vaccines, etc.

Her bloodwork came back heartworm positive and unfortunately I have already spent everything I can getting her stabilized and cared for but the real costs are just beginning and I'm overwhelmed with getting her the care that she desperately needs to survive.

The moderators have approved me to share her GoFundMe. Donations will go directly toward her treatment, vet visits and medications.

GoFundMe: https://gofund.me/41eba3f26

If anyone is able to help, share or suggest additional resources I might not know about I would be incredibly grateful. Even just upvoting or interacting with this post could help save her life.

I'll continue posting updates on her progress so everyone who has helped can see how she's doing. I've included documentation from her vet for full transparency.

Thank you all ❤️🐾

URGENT: Foster / Adoption Needed for Mother Cat & 3 Kittens

I urgently need a safe foster home (or permanent adopters) for a mother cat and her three kittens.

My family returned home yesterday, and there has been a serious conflict regarding the cats. For their safety, I have temporarily kept them on the terrace, but this is not safe or sustainable. I am genuinely worried something may happen to them if they remain here.

The mother cat was recently spayed (8 days ago) and is still weak. She has also been dewormed. She needs proper care, rest, and a calm, safe environment to recover.

About the cats:

The kittens are around 2 months old

All three are healthy, active, and playful

They are litter trained

The mother is friendly and affectionate, but may get defensive if forced to cuddle or picked up suddenly (very normal behavior)

Two kittens had potential adopters, but due to a recent loss in that family, the adoption has been delayed.

Because of this, I urgently need someone who can foster them until permanent homes are confirmed, or adopt them if possible.

📍 Location: Okhla Vihar, near Riaz Medical, New Delhi

If you can help, or know someone who can, please reach out as soon as possible. Their safety depends on finding a secure place immediately..

Help save my dogs life

Yesterday, my dog Stormy swallowed a whole bone for some reason and now he’s at the vet fighting for his life
They need to operate him and I honestly can’t afford as I lost my job last year due to the company closing and I’ve been searching and Stormy has been my rock through this hard times. I’ve had him for two years and I can’t imagine being without him
I’m currently back in Kenya at my parents trying to find a new job in Canada again or USA.
I have no issue keeping in touch with whoever is kind enough to help and give updates.
His surgery and after care will cost around $600 and I honestly can’t afford that now
I’ve taken scan of the current quote
Please help if you can as it’s hard in Kenya or Africa in general for people to understand how much pets can mean to someone
Who ever is willing please donate to this link :

Hello, I am coming here because I really need your help. I am creating this fundraiser for my mother, to help her dog Mia. In 2020 my mother worked as a nurse during the COVID pandemic, and decided to adopt Mia to help her through the extremely difficult time. In 2023, my mom was diagnosed with an Arterial Venous Malformation (AVM), in her brain for which she had to do surgery for. After her surgery my mother suffered a hemorrhagic stroke, leaving her with a permanent disability and the inability to work. Mia has been there for my mom through everything, and has been the reason my mother has been so strong. Just recently we noticed a lump on Mia’s belly and brought her in to the vet. The vet said she has a mammary tumour that is cancerous, and if she does not get it removed as soon as possible it can spread and grow, significantly decreasing her lifespan. She is only 6 years old and her and my mother deserve to have more time together. Due to my mom’s inability to work, it is extremely difficult to find the funding for Mia’s surgery. I am coming here to kindly ask for any donation no matter has small. If you came this far, I want to thank you for taking the time to read my mother’s and Mia’s story.

My kitten has a white thing in her eye and idk what it is

She's four weeks and I got her along with her sibling and mom but neither of them are that bad what do I do? I tried getting it out with a q tip but its not budging and seems to hurt her. The second picture is from 3 days earlier

What do you think

My dog does this head shaking periodically and I'm concerned. She seems to be fine after a minute or so but it recently happened to where she didn't stop for about 10 minutes!! Local vet said if it don't seem to cause pain or affect her quality of life then not to worry about it but I can't not worry about it anymore.

Help my cats are dying

My cat had two kittens two months ago; they are still small and dependent on her milk. The mother cat was sick two days ago but seems to have recovered now. However, she began avoiding her babies last night. I initially hoped it would resolve on its own, but since this afternoon, both kittens have gone limp.

They aren't seeking milk and are completely silent. One is shaking uncontrollably, while the other cannot walk and is unable to hold its head up. I live in a remote area with no nearby vets or medical facilities for pets. I managed to call a veterinarian who advised me to keep them warm and suggested the seizures might be due to low blood sugar, recommending a small amount of honey in their mouths.

It has been five hours with zero improvement; they remain limp. The mother cat licks them occasionally but otherwise continues to avoid nursing them. I am desperate for help

Long story short, at work a student brought me a kitten they found, I found a mama that looked identical to it (confirmed female, looked like it was lactating) and offered the baby back to it, where it immediately tried to kill it. No, it was not just picking it up. Kittens neck seems fine, maybe 2 weeks old tops, eyes are open, can pick it’s head up, can look around and head does not fall backwards, can move under own strength, and responds to noise and light. Noticed it has tons of flees, small spots of bleeding, and black “flee dirt” on one of its paws. Plan of action is to give it a bath, pick the rest of the flees out by hand, and try and offer it to my mama cat who just had 4 kittens about a month ago and PRAY she adopts it. If anyone can direct me in what to do next, I couldn’t watch it die, and now I have assumed responsibility like a goofball.

TL:DR, saved this kitten from getting ripped apart,I have hope but it’s not looking too hot, and I need help on how I should go about its care.

Thanks in advance :)

Update: Took HIM (they sexed him) to the vet. They didn’t tell me much but they gave me some dry kitten milk and a print out of a ton of info for taking care of a kitten, along with some verbal info on how to feed him. I don’t think his odds are the greatest, but by god am I going to do my best, and at the very least he’s loved and as comfortable as I can make him. Thanks for all the info, I’ll keep you guys posted.

Update 2: We laid him down on a cloth with the rest of the babies and the mama, we kept them at a distance incase kitten is sick. So far, they all seem VERY receptive, kitten tried to ween but mama seemed hesitant, I don’t blame her, it’s a little soon, but the kitten instantly recognized “this is a mama” and I think the mama realized it too. She keeps smelling him and checking him out so I’m hoping it continues to go well. Right now kitten is sleeping wrapped up in some tshirts, going to try and get it a heating pad and a flea comb to make its quality of life a little better. It’ll eat a few drops hear and there, but he’s not liking the bottle very much. It’ll take time, and while I don’t want to get my hopes up, I’m praying he’s gonna be ok. Posted a pic in the comments of the little guy, he’s kinda funny actually.

This is an urgent appeal.

We are a group of students from California and Armenia, who have created #SaveShun, a grassroots initiative dedicated to improving conditions for stray and vulnerable dogs across Armenia. Our goal is not only to respond to the immediate crisis, but to begin building a more sustainable and humane system of care. We aim to support and repair existing shelters, contribute to the creation of new ones, provide essential medical treatment to injured animals, and ensure that dogs have access to food and basic care. We also hope to assist in rescuing dogs from dangerous environments, including those exploited in fighting operations.

In Yerevan, the number of stray dogs has risen dramatically in recent years, stretching the limits of what local systems can manage. Beyond the capital, in regions such as Lori Province—where many of us have personal ties—the situation is even more severe. Dogs roam the streets without consistent access to food, shelter, or medical care. Many are visibly injured, sick, or abandoned, left to survive in conditions that grow harsher by the day. It is widely acknowledged by local organizations that there are tens of thousands of stray dogs across Armenia.

At the same time, a more disturbing crisis is unfolding alongside this neglect. The rise of illegal dog fighting has introduced a level of cruelty that is difficult to ignore. Dogs are bred, raised, and forced into violent confrontations for profit and entertainment, forming part of an underground system that continues to expand rather than disappear. Animals suffer severe injuries, and many do not survive. Entire breeding operations exist solely to sustain this cycle of violence. Despite awareness of these practices, authorities and local advocates often lack the resources necessary to intervene effectively and rescue the animals trapped within it.

One of the many lives we are trying to save is Honey—a stray dog who was run over last month and is now in urgent need of surgery. (picture attached). Honey’s story is just one among thousands. It is a reminder of how many animals are suffering quietly, without attention or aid.

Faced with these realities, we knew we could not remain passive.

Our team includes:

Mkhitar Hovsepyan- Founder, main organizer (Yerevan, Armenia)

Hayk Muradyan- Co-founder, main organizer (Glendale, CA)

Artyom Minasyan- Secretary, helper (Tashir, Armenia)

Lara Keshishyan- A dedicated helper (Yerevan, Armenia)

Hakob Arustamyan- A dedicated helper (Glendale, CA)

And others…

To begin this work, we are seeking to raise $10,000 or more before June. Without immediate funding, many of these dogs will not survive long enough to be helped. These funds will be allocated carefully and transparently: a significant portion will go toward supporting and expanding shelter capacity, another toward urgent medical care and surgeries, and the rest toward food, daily supplies, and transportation needed for rescue efforts. Every contribution, no matter the size, will directly impact the lives of these animals.

Large-scale, coordinated efforts like this are still rare in Armenia. But we believe that meaningful change often begins with small, determined groups willing to act. Without intervention, the cycle of abandonment, suffering, and euthanasia will continue. With support, however, we have the opportunity to create something different—something better.

What each donation does:

$10 → feeds a stray dog for a week

$50 → covers basic veterinary treatment

$150 → funds sterilization (prevents future suffering)

$500 → helps rehabilitate an injured dog

$1000→ covers renovations at a local shelter

We invite you to be part of that change.

Stand with us. Support #SaveShun

Because no animal should be left to suffer unseen.

Hi everyone I just came across a VERY disturbing post on threads from Animal Edventures Park Safari on threads of an employee molesting an otter which is a violation of animal welfare law Fla. Admin. Code 68A-6.009, animal cruelty Florida Statute 828.12. and animal molestation Florida Statute 379.101(38). If this is what they are doing in front of an audience I cannot even imagine wtf they are doing to these animals behind closed doors!!

just wanted to come on here and say thank you… like genuinely, from the bottom of my heart.
I posted asking for help with cat food and supplies, not really knowing what to expect, and you all showed up in a way that honestly overwhelmed me (in the best way). Packages started arriving, and every single one felt like a little reminder that people really do care — not just about me, but about these cats too.
Because of you, I’m able to keep feeding them, keep them comfortable, and keep doing what I can to help them stay safe and cared for. That might not sound huge to some people, but out here, it makes all the difference.
I’ve attached some pictures of everything that’s come in so far. Please know none of it is taken for granted. Every bag of food, every can, every little supply — it all matters more than you probably realize.
Thank you for trusting me, thank you for helping the cats, and thank you for being kind. Seriously.

(Mother Cat - Checkers in pictures with kittens)

Hello,

Gonna start out saying sorry because I’ve only posted I think twice before.

Anyway, I’m Animal Care Taker in my local animal shelter, we have no veterinary in our community due to lack of support, and our animal shelter is very small, only able to support maybe 20 animals at a time.

I’m the only full time worker at the shelter and I have some experience with healthcare of animals as when we did have a vet I volunteered for them for a few months and got to watch and help the vet with simple things.
I’m only writing this so people have an idea with what I’m working with to support this mother cat.

Right now we have a mother cat with 5 kittens at around 10 days old.
She came in about 6 days ago found under a trailer with her kittens.
I’m guessing her age at maybe a year and a half.

She over the weekend stopped eating, I’ve been watching her for 3 days and checking to see if she’d eat anything. She is a very attentive mother and very sweet cat, she lets me handle her baby’s every morning to quickly weigh them and check for any problems they may have.
I do this fast so she doesn’t stress out about me handling them and she usually just sits beside me and tries to sit in my lap as I do so.

I’ve given her every kind of food we have, wet food, dry food, wet kitten food, dry kitten food, wet and dry food mixed together, wet food mixed with water and so on.
I’ve also tried different flavours and even different textures, so far all she’s eating is some treats that don’t give her the nutrients she needs, and a very small amount of canned tuna.

I’m going to keep feeding her the tuna and treats because at least she’s eating something, I’ve also notified my bosses (plural because I have like 3 who make sure the place has funding) and they’re contacting other shelters to hopefully find her placement somewhere that has a vet on staff and can get her care 24/7, but until this can happen I need to keep her eating as much as possible and make sure her kittens are gaining or at least maintaining weight.

She was eating her first 3 days with us and only recently stopped, I have her in a room by herself with her kittens in a safe dark space that she can easily access that’s close to her food, water, and litter box.
It can get pretty noisy in the shelter due to the dogs being just a door down but I can’t move her or them because it’s the only space that allows her to be alone.

I’ve been trying to see if I can find a foster(s) who might be able to care for them but even with the amount of people willing to help not many of them have the space, time, or experience to care for what could become hand raised kittens.
And if I can help it I’m trying not to separate mother from any of her kittens.
Her kittens are at a good weight and I watch her feed them regularly, but I’m worried she’ll start having issues producing milk if she doesn’t start eating soon.

Does anyone have any advice on ways to help her appetite improve?

I know how and am going to start feeding the kittens by bottle if I need too, if they start losing weight due to lack of milk production from mother cat, I’m just hoping it doesn’t come to that because it means time I don’t have being pulled from the other animals that need care.

It feels like I’m failing this mother and her babies.
Please don’t comment on me being the only full time worker, it’s unfortunately the reality of having an organization that doesn’t have as much support as it needs, we are working to be able to afford another full time employee.

*Update*
It’s the next day and I figure out her favourite!
She really likes tuna! I asked a volunteer to drop some off as I used the last one we had on her last night and she’s eating it!

I feel very relieved but I know that if it’s something physical that she may stop again so I’m keeping a close eye on her still.

Just wanted the people in the comments to know that she’s doing a bit better, and to thank them!
So thank you!

*Update 2*
She’s eating cat food now! It’s been a crazy week with her but I found she really likes the tuna favoured cat food!
I feel silly not trying that sooner when she liked the canned tuna, but she’s eating it and prefers it over canned tuna!
I’m also mixing the food with some dry kitten food and a small amount of milk replacer so she gets the calcium and other nutrients she needs well nursing.
I’ve figured out that she’s a very picky eater, so I’ll be sharing that with the shelter that’s gonna take her and kittens next week!

About a year and a half ago I moved in with my boyfriend, his dad, and his brother. This is in upper east Texas. His dad is a hoarder, even hoards animals. It's a very small house, only two bedrooms, the living room only fits one couch and a TV stand. There was the 4 of us living there with 5 Rottweilers inside. There was 4 Rottweilers "living" outside, 7 cows, and three horses. All of the "pets" outside are severely neglected. I'm talking about the dogs being malnourished enough that their eyes are sunken and you could see all of their bones. The cows were not the happy fat ones you see in fields alongside the road, they were very skinny and never ran around, mostly because their pen is not big enough. My boyfriend's dad breeds the dogs for money. None of the dogs are fixed. One of the females has had some sort of infection inside her lady parts for about a year now and she hasnt been taken to the vet. They all have bad skin problems that go ignored, such as scratching bald spots and making them bleed and become infected. There is three females and two males inside. The one female that has puppies can only get pregnant from one of the males because the other male is her dad. My boyfriend's dad for some reason kept one of her puppies from her last litter and it's a female. He isn't planning on fixing her. She can't get pregnant from either male because both are her granddads. He won't separate any of them because he doesn't care, he only wants money, even if it's inbreeding and wrong. My boyfriend and I moved out at the beginning of this month and I want to call someone to get the animals taken away from his father. I don't know who to call. I don't want his dad finding out where we live and coming to terrorize us. If there is a certain number or place I should call, can you help me? I don't know if it's animal control or some other thing.

I’m not sure what sub this is best to ask in so if you guys have any other recommendations please let me know. For some background information, I have a friend who’s dog needs emergency surgery. The surgery is to remove a mammary tumour that ruptured in December, since then it has worsened with new open wounds. My friend is 20 years old and a very hard worker, she has been saving up for the vet costs but she’s just not getting the amount she needs quick enough. Her dog is a 4 year old, intact, cane corso mix who she loves with her whole heart and would do anything for.

I’m trying my best to help my friend in this situation and gather some information for her. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on where she can get some financial help to cover some of the cost. The last quote she got from the vet was in December when it wasn’t as bad and it was $3,800-$5000 which is a lot for a part-time young adult. She made a gofundme but we’re having a hard time getting it to reach the right audience. I donated what I could and so far she’s raised $130.

She looked into a credit card type thing for pet care but unfortunately she didn’t make enough last year to qualify for it.

All advice is welcome, I really wish I could do more but I’m unsure of any resources or anything to even recommend trying.

Edit: I’m not sure if it’s allowed to add the link for the go fund me in this sub, but if anyone is in the place to donate please pm me and I will send the link over

Donate to Help Bella Get Urgent Vet Care, organized by Justin Witmer

Bella is only 4 years old, and she’s the most loving, gentle husky I’ve ever known. Recently, she started having trouble standing, and the vet initially thought it was arthritis. But her condition has worsened dramatically. Now, I have to carry her just so she can go outside, and she’s barely eating or moving. I’m scared I’m going to lose her if I can’t get her the care she needs. The vet says the next step is X-rays, but I don’t have the funds for that right now. Bella deserves a chance at a full life, and I’m asking for your help to give her that. If you can donate, it would mean the world to us. If not, please share this post to help spread the word. Thank you for caring about Bella.

i knew golden retrievers shed. i did not know it was like this. found hair in my coffee last week. my coffee. i don't even know how. been going through vacuums faster than id like to admit. the problem isnt suction, its the brush roller. every single one clogs within a few weeks and then im on the floor with scissors pulling hair out of it like some kind of ritual. my floors are mostly hardwood with one carpeted bedroom. the carpet is basically just a golden retriever now. feels like i could vacuum twice a day and still find tumbleweeds by evening.

I received my first 3 Blue death feigning beetles in the mail two days ago and a free one missing a leg. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH. I know these guys need heat but what heat should they have? My room is like 60-69 degrees (Fahrenheit ofc) but don't they like one side way hotter than that? I have a 5.5 gallon tank so what heating should I have? I'm pretty sure heating pads are a no-go because they burrow, so what lamp should I use, what wattage, what bulb, etc.? These little blueberries are the greatest things that ever happened to me.

Hello, everyone. On Sunday, April 26, we took our cat, Aurinax, to the vet for an emergency: a urinary obstruction caused by kidney stones. He was put on treatment in the hope of avoiding surgery for the next three days, but it was not successful.

He's now under treatment to keep him stable and clean his kidneys and bladder, and must undergo surgery in the next three days. The procedure is too expensive for my partner and me; we can't get that much money on our own in such a short time. We're taking care of the treatment for ourselves at home because we can't afford hospital care. Please, help us keep Aurinax alive. He's only 2 years old, and we'd love to keep him in our lives safe and sound for as long as possible: https://gofund.me/a12f6f957
