I’m at the sleep deprived point of having energy but no one’s awake and I’m in a talkative mood. How are you guys doing? What did you do today? Have exciting news and wanna share it?! Let me hear it!

So March 13th I saw a charge on my debit card from Circle K for exactly 40$, fast forward to Saturday May 2nd another charge from the same Circle K for exactly 40$ again. I had my card locked for a while after the first time, but eventually unlocked it and nothing else happened. No other purchases were made until yesterday. Just $40 taken from the same Circle K March 13th and May 2nd.

Has this happened to anyone else?
What is going on?
If someone had my info you would think they would be using it more and not just spending exactly $40 at the same place over a month apart no?

I know I should just go to the bank which I’m going to do, I just wanted to see if anyone is experiencing anything similar as I’m so confused by the situation.

Edit: also now that I’m thinking, how are they taking my information and buying something in person without my card or anything? Nothing makes sense.

Edit 2: disregard the division st claim I can’t change the title, at first I could have swore it said it was that one but now I’m not too sure as I can’t find it again. The only thing I have is the 5 digit number beside where it says Circle K on my debit card purchase history, which I believe is location specific but there is no way to actually look up the location?

Edit 3: after some digging, I believe it was 2814 Princess St Circle K NOT division. According to Ontario Out of Door Store list. I matched the numbers, I’m not sure if it’s right but I’m assuming it is. Sorry for all the confusing, I’m just updating as I find more out to keep the post having accurate information

I’m not sure what sub this is best to ask in so if you guys have any other recommendations please let me know, I also posted this in the Ontario sub. For some background information, I have a friend who’s dog needs emergency surgery. The surgery is to remove a mammary tumour that ruptured in December, since then it has worsened with new open wounds. My friend is 20 years old and a very hard worker, she has been saving up for the vet costs but she’s just not getting the amount she needs quick enough. Her dog is a 4 year old, intact, cane corso mix who she loves with her whole heart and would do anything for.

I’m trying my best to help my friend in this situation and gather some information for her. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on where she can get some financial help to cover some of the cost. The last quote she got from the vet was in December when it wasn’t as bad and it was $3,800-$5000 which is a lot for a part-time young adult. She made a gofundme but we’re having a hard time getting it to reach the right audience. I donated what I could and so far she’s raised $130.

She looked into a credit card type thing for pet care but unfortunately she didn’t make enough last year to qualify for it.

All advice is welcome, I really wish I could do more but I’m unsure of any resources local or not to even recommend trying.

Edit: I’m not sure if it’s allowed to add the link for the go fund me in this sub, but if anyone is in the place to donate please pm me and I will send the link over
