Delta V Rings of Saturn and Hardspace: Shipbreaker
Has anybody played these games? I’m looking for a chill space game to play on my PC/Steam Deck and both look right up my alley. I’d love to hear your thoughts. Thanks.

A “big dumb object” or BDO is a seemingly ancient alien artifact in a story that drives the narrative towards mystery and wonder. Some examples:
Movies
The shells in Arrival
The monolith in 2001: A Space Odyssey
Books
Rama in Arthur C Clarke’s Rendezvous With Rama
The asteroid in Greg Bear’s Eon
Games that have this vibe are Outer Wilds and No Man’s Sky. Can you suggest any others? No spoilers please.
Hello! I just finished Clarke’s Rendezvous With Rama and loved it! Can you recommend any other more modern titles with big dumb objects and a sense of wonder? I already know of Eon by Greg Bear. Thank you.
EDIT: Many thanks for the suggestions! I have a lot to look through now.
I bought myself a gamepad and hooked my PC up to the bedroom TV for this one. I can’t wait to jump in. I’ll also be playing on the Steam Deck when traveling next week.
What was your first experience with Outer Wilds like?
Sorry for the potato pic.
I love the idea of flying my ship, upgrading it, and exploring the universe, but I don’t want to craft anything. I’ve played plenty of survival crafting games and want something different. Any suggestions?
I’m not sure how to explain the type of game I’m looking for but hopefully this works… I’m looking for an infinitely replayable forever game. Games I can just get lost in forever if I choose, like Rimworld, Project Zomboid, and Factorio. Any suggestions?
I’m new to the genre and started with Satisfactory. However, it wasn’t long (maybe somewhere around tier 3) before I became overwhelmed with the 3D building, placement, and factory efficiency, so can anyone recommend beginner friendly automation games that will slowly introduce me to the genre?
I had a look on Steam and these stood out. Any thoughts on the following (or others)? Thanks.
Factory Town
Factorio
Little Rocket Lab
Mindustry
Shapez
Shapez 2
Hello! TLDR at the bottom. I’m brand new to Factorio and I’ve hit a massive wall in the fourth part of the tutorial (science and automation). I’m supposed to research automobilism but I’m feeling completely overwhelmed.
The main issue is that I haven't quite grasped how to actually automate the research yet, and the constant biter attacks are giving me zero time to think. My brain doesn't handle time pressure well, and I honestly feel a bit stupid because I can’t figure out the layout while being overrun.
I really want to love this game, but the tutorial feels like a huge difficulty spike. Should I keep bashing my head against this mission, or would it be better to start a freeplay game where I can learn at my own pace (maybe with biters turned off)? Any tips for a dingus like me would be much appreciated!
TLDR: Getting wrecked by biters in tutorial 4 while trying to learn automation. Should I push through the pressure or skip to freeplay/peaceful mode to learn the basics?
EDIT: Wow, you guys came through with the helpful replies fast! Thank you so much.
They should name this game Satiscracktory. I BOUGHT IT YESTERDAY! I think my wife is going to leave me.

Other than playing Builderment on my phone, I’m new to factory automation games. Which of these games should I buy if…
I need full xbox controller support on PC
I’d like to be able to play my save on the Steam Deck now and then
I’m new to the genre
I’m not looking for a spreadsheet simulator
I want a game to zone out with
