Modern society pisses me off

You're supposed to work, but getting a job has become a privilege. You're inundated with CONSUMER SLOP that ends up in goddamn LANDFILLS for african kids to clean up. You're told to "go to college" instead of being able to contribute to the workforce with on the job training after highschool. Young people are losing more and more hope as time goes on. We always worry about "the economy" when it's just made up math with made up numbers. Economic growth is a CANCER yet we rely on it.

This all feels meaningless. I don't know. Am I alone?

I regret being born

I didn't ask to be here. I didn't ask to go through the hellish process of looking for a livable wage job. I didn't ask to pay taxes. I didn't ask to do anything. I regret this.

Should I repeat this cycle 10 times?

2019: "Go to college or you'll be flipping burgers for your whole life!!!!!!!"

2020: goes to college

2020-2024: does internships and projects, 3.8 gpa or something, bachelor's degree

2024: "You think you're too good to flip burgers?"

2024-2026: flips burgers while trying to get a better job

2026: "Go to college or you'll be flipping burgers your whole life!!!!!!!"

2026: quits burger job and is unemployed now

It's the same 7 year cycle. Not sure how much student loan debt I'll be in after the 10th iteration

Do y'all still consider this country to be a first world country?

I really don't, as a citizen. No more opportunity left.

How was I supposed to get a job to support myself?

No idea tbh

was only ever able to get poverty wage jobs both before and after college. rents, inflation and what not always increase. while my wage wouldn't. I already would've had to work 55+ hours a week to afford basic necessities. as inflation goes on I would've eventually needed to work 168+ hours a week. wasn't worth the bother, so I quit.

it's too late for me now. won't be able to enter any sector of the job market/economy throughout the whole country, the whole world for the remainder of my lifespan. it's out of my control. what a sad rendition of the old gilded age

Destroyed my life worse than being a felon and worse than getting addicted to drugs combined

Simply by picking the wrong major in college and "not doing enough" during college, even though I did all I could. Sigh

Sleep is the one reprieve I get from the nightmare of my life

I've been unemployed for years now. Sleep is the only time I get to be stress free. The eternal abyss is tempting...

Lovely signs of systemic decay

Labor force participation rates are at all time lows constantly. Deaths to despair are at ATHs all the time just like the stock market. It's no wonder why, given our modern society.

Poverty is treated as a moral failure instead of systemic, and success is treated as an individual making instead of what opportunity they had.

Oh well. I'm not having children. Can't afford them. Nor am I subjecting them to this horrifying, inept world. If I could undo my birth, I would.

How many people are going to increase the Deaths to despair statistics in these coming months and years?

The economy is deep fried beyond recognition. People can't get jobs. It's the worst time in almost 4 decades to be entering the workforce.
