I just checked the google reviews of I-house, and some of the reviews were not good. Reviewers complained that dinner was bad, breakfast is served way early in the morning and gets finished before they could even wake up. Heaters get turned off every 2 hours so residents apparently freeze during winter. And then an alarm goes off the in the morning that lasts for ten minutes. One guy wrote “The room doors close automatically so if both of your hands are holding something it's extremely difficult to enter your room. On top of that if you get locked out they charge you money after 2 times.”

I feel like after reading all these it will be wise to avoid I house. What was your experience there? Is the campus east better in these regards?

My close female friend uploaded a picture and for some reason I found her pose very funny and I DMed her saying “omg u look so funny u look look like those hunched old people” I deeply regret saying this to her and i have conveyed my regret to her. How much offensive was it?

I am a Bengali, and I also a huge Anglophile. I admire British way of life, values and tradition. I spend a big chunk of my daily time reading the history of British Empire, so it is only normal that I would have a desire to live in the country I so admire about and fight against those who are a threat to the country, but seeing some posts on social media, especially from the now burgeoning Restore supporters, really makes me wonder whether a brown guy like me will ever be accepted by the people I so admire about as their own, whether my children will grow up safely in the country I so admire about and not be harassed or feel unsafe simply because of their skin colour. Take this post for example, the only issue this content creator raised against Reform is that they are fielding non White candidates. Nothing on their character or qualifications, just their names and faces and I have seen many comments here and elsewhere about how reform ”sold the british people out” by fielding non whites as if non whites dont have a place in the UK. I really dont want to have a “leopards ate my face” moment.

Here is West Bengal BJP Leader Suvendu Adhikari claiming that “Joy Bangla” is a slogan of “Bangladeshi Muslims”. He probably does not know in July Bangladesh 2.0, “Joy Bangla” is considered a slogan of Awami League and some fanatics consider it to be “too Hindu”. In current Bangladesh, “Bangladesh Zindabad” is the dominant slogan but Adhikari Kakku does not know this and is unnecessarily dragging Bangladesh into WB elections.

Our right wing considers ”Joy Bangla” to be “too Indian/Hindu” on the other hand Indian rw considers it to be “too Bangladeshi/Muslim”. Wow.

Same goes for Amar Sonar Bangla. Thanks to Pir New Yorkpuri and Parispuri, a big chunk of the population considers Amar Sonar Bangla to be a product of Calcutta elitism and to be anti Bengali Muslim but when an Assamese politician sang this song, the BJP state government filed a case agains for being anti National.

This polarization and constant hate for each other sickens me.

In schools, you have prom, winter formal etc. In colleges, you have parties, college sports, frat boys and sorority sisters etc. This is mostly applicable to America and to many extent Canada.\

I am not saying other countries’ schools dont have any fun elements but I think Americans take fun to a new league. This is something I envy about America a lot.
