Would love any suggestion

I'm a student trying to start a small side hustle to take some financial pressure off my father. I took a risk and imported 15 Japanese-style "aesthetic" mousepads.

Honestly, I thought they’d sell fast because the print is clean and the quality is solid. But after posting in 20+ groups, I only sold 4 (3 were to my friends and 1 to a real customer). It’s been a massive reality check.

I’m listing them at 949 BDT, but I’m stuck.

I’d really value some honest advice:

• Is 949 BDT too high for the local market?
• If Facebook groups aren't working, where should a student like me be looking for buyers?

I really want to make this work. Any suggestions would mean a lot.

People keep blaming the system for poor outcomes, but the reality is not that simple.

Memorizing answers, avoiding real understanding, and doing the bare minimum is still very common. Even when resources are available, many students choose the easiest path just to pass exams.

At the same time, the system itself rewards this behavior, so it keeps repeating.

Are students victims of the system, or active participants in keeping it the same?

For those who grew up in the village (or at least from where I am from), one of the dishes served at weddings was chicken roast. They would serve Pulao, Chicken Roast, Beef, dal, and payesh (as far as I recall, it's been a while since I went to a Wedding in Bangladesh).

My question is, where does this dish come from? A quick search on the internet told me it came from Mughlai cooking, possibly getting the form we know from Puran Dhaka.

I am more interested in knowing why we call it Chicken Roast. It does not have anything to do with European Roast Chicken. So how come a possible Mughlai heritage dish, served at a village wedding in Bangladesh, comes to share a name with a European dish? What colonial misunderstanding are we dealing with here?

We all know that Bangladesh's education system leaves much to be desired. So, let's discuss some steps we can take to bring it up to a "standard" or even match East Asia's level. While we need to fix many flaws, I'd like to focus on a few key ideas beyond the minor issues like excessive pressure on students.

Personally, I believe introducing club activities starting in high school would be a great move. Students could form and join clubs such as science, literature, or fitness clubs, making education more engaging and enjoyable.

Additionally, I think establishing cram schools for intensive study would be beneficial. I felt the absence of such schools when preparing for my admission exams, and they can really make a difference for students aiming for higher education or preparing for board exams.

আমি একটু অন্য একটি বিষয় নিয়ে কথা বলতে চাই।

আমরা সবাই বর্তমান বিশ্বের অবস্থা এবং দেশের পরিস্থিতি সম্পর্কে জানি। আমি এখন মধ্যপ্রাচ্যে আছি এবং মোটামুটি চলার মতো একটি চাকরি করছি। অনেকেই জানেন, বর্তমানে মধ্যপ্রাচ্যে ঠিকভাবে survive করা কতটা কঠিন। সবকিছুর অতিরিক্ত দাম, ইকামা সংক্রান্ত ঝামেলা, এবং আরও অনেক ধরনের সমস্যার কারণে জীবনটা অনেক কঠিন হয়ে গেছে।

সত্যি বলতে, আমি আর এই চাকরির সেক্টরে থাকতে চাই না। এই endless rat race এখন খুব বিরক্ত লাগে।

তবে এই পোস্টটি শুধু চাকরি নিয়ে নয়। আমার অনেক আগে থেকেই একটি book café করার স্বপ্ন আছে। অনেকদিন ধরেই এটা নিয়ে ভাবছি এবং পরিকল্পনাও করছি। কিন্তু শুরু করার সাহস পাচ্ছি না।

আমি আপনাদের কাছ থেকে জানতে চাই, আমার জন্য কী করা ভালো হবে? আমি কি দেশে ফিরে কিছুদিনের মধ্যে একটি book café শুরু করার প্রস্তুতি নিতে পারি?

এখানে অনেক বড় capital-এর বিষয় আছে। যদি আমি শুরু করতে চাই, তাহলে কীভাবে funding পেতে পারি? কীভাবে কোনো partner বা investor share-এ যুক্ত করতে পারি? Crowdfunding করা কি সম্ভব হবে আমার? আর বর্তমান সময়ে বাংলাদেশে গিয়ে এই ধরনের startup শুরু করা কতটা practical হবে, সেটাও বিস্তারিত জানতে চাই।

যারা business, café, startup বা funding নিয়ে অভিজ্ঞ, তারা দয়া করে পরামর্শ দিলে খুব উপকার হবে।

So I just got my admission results and I didn't get into my first choice university or the subject I wanted (CSE). I did get accepted somewhere, but it's not where I wanted to be and honestly I'm not thrilled about it.

Now I'm stuck between two options:

Option A – Take a gap year and retry I'd have around 6 months to prepare and give the admission test again next cycle. The upside is I might get into a better university with the subject I actually want. The downside is... what if I still don't make it? Then I've lost a year AND end up in the same situation.

Option B – Just admit to the university I got It's not my dream place, but it's something. I can start my degree on time, not lose a year, and maybe make the most of it through self-study and projects.

For context: my long-term goal is to get into a good tech job, maybe eventually work at a top company or start something of my own. So the university I attend does matter to me — but I also know it's not everything.

Has anyone been in this situation? Did you take the gap year or just move forward? How did it turn out?

Any advice would be really appreciated. I'm genuinely overthinking this.

So basically I live abroad and want to receive all my Bangladeshi bank sms on my Bangladeshi sim. Went to Robi office and they charge 800/- taka per 3 years. As per my understanding this is should be free unless you want roaming data or calls. My international sim works fine in bd and I receive all my abroad bank sms free.

If not Robi is there any other sim which give this service as free.

Again I don't want to use roaming data or call just want sim to be connected to my abroad network so I can receive Bangladeshi bank sms.
