For DRPGs where death of characters is expected, what are the expectations for replacement characters?

Kinda general question, mostly I'm thinking about Wizardry inspired stuff.

Like I've been playing Class of Heroes 2 a bunch lately, (Need to do 1 as well at some point and a few others), and I never really know what I'm supposed to do in games like this in terms of replacement characters.

Making a second or thrid team is so extremely grindy, when leveling the main team is already really grindy in games like these. Just replacing a character when one dies leads to them being massively under leveled compared to the rest of the party, even if a game gives some extra for leveling new recruits there is often a cap that doesn't align with the rest of the party.

And thats even before accounting for how frequent instant death abilities are, and how rare items with death resist/immunity is. Or if not instant death than just occationally a map has a specific enemy varriant thats so much stronger than everything else, and escaping/running from it can take a few tries. Espescally when you encounter them early game before you have a collection of instant escape items/abilities. And even then figuring out what enemies are the dangerous ones are just big combinations of trial and error.

Is there something I'm missing? Cause it almost never feels good no matter the soultion I approch this issue with in Wizardry clones.

What is the name of the type of pasta/dumpling that you grate into hot water?

Really quick question, google is just giving me normal big round dumplings.

I remember a long time ago when I was researching different cooking cultures and recopies, I came across a, I think it was German? (Dutch?) recipe that involved making a dumpling/pasta dough and then using a cheese grater to get little squiglies of dough in the water that would then quickly firm up.

And I can't for the life of me remember the name of it. I think it started with an S?

Edit: Thank you to everyone who commented! It was in fact Spätzle that I was thinking of! Been interesting hearing about the other similar dishes around the region too from Switzerland and Italy in the comments.

How do you save Emotes now?

I remember a few years ago I could just right click an image, open the image and save it. But that option is no longer there when I right click things.

Copy message link just leads to the message and not the emote itself.

I remember vaguely I used to be able to go into the emoji section of a server and redownload emoji too at some point, but it doesn't seem to let you do that either any more.

I'm mostly asking because years ago I had a number of Emotes commissioned, and the artist has been offline for a while so I can't ask him if he still has the originals, and the old link I was given to download them originally is from a service that no longer exists. Wheres my copies of the original are on my desktop, but the desktop died like 8 months ago, and it might be a few years till i get enough money to fix it.

I was hoping I could just save the emojis like I used to be able to, but that doesn't appear to be a thing anymore.

Why does everyone call Momoko turtle in Wedding Peach?

I feel like I'm missing some language pun. Whenever she does something wrong, or something goes wrong folks exclaim Turtle. She even described drawing a circle with an a and me to get a turtle in one Ep.

As far as I am aware Momoko does not mean turtle.

So its likely something about the shape?

I love it, I love calling her turtle. But I just, don't know why shes called it so far, and everyone acts like its obvious in show.

Given the relatively few bits of info online in English about Wedding Peach I'm also having trouble finding info on this as well.

Been trying to sort this out. Most everyone talks about how to make it so the wrap/burrito is reheated all the way through.

But my issue has always been the wrap gets a rather unpleasently stiff texture when I reheat it. Which makes it unpleasent to eat.

Its also not all the time. Sometimes I'll pop one on and it'll be fine, other times I do and it tastes/feels like cardboard.

Its frustrating because I often make a bunch to freeze down for the month for breakfast.

As many of us know, Wedding Peach was a magical Girl series from 1995 that got an English Dub in 2004. Its largely not available for streaming in a very very long time.

It is also the one "obscure" magical girl series that gets brought up every time people ask about obscure titles, which has given it this kinda reputation of being the obscure title everyone actually knows about.

Which, got me thinking. Espescally given how popular it seems to be in general discussions, how many people have actually watched it?

And if you have, what were your thoughts?

I just started it after a friend got me a copy of things as an early birthday gift. And so far the first two episodes have been fun, even if I have been teasing it in spots. (Like girl!!! Girl!!!! You haven't even talked to Yanagbi yet as of Ep2s opening. Why are you dreaming about loving him??? Why do you have a picture of him in a duo frame with you as if you are a couple. You literally haven't had any on screen time yet and did not know he even existed till Ep1 going by your reactions to him!!!!)

When I was growing up on the island, I remember almost every home, espescally the 'fancier' ones that were better maintained, had these giant stars on the side of their homes facing the road. Often by the front door.

Google tells me they are called Barnstars and are most frequently seen in the US state of Pensylvania and some parts of Ontario, but I can't find much documentation about its use here in Nova Scotia.

Why did so many houses have them? I remember asking as a kid and none of the adults knew. But most of the adults I asked back then didn't have the stars on their homes either.
