surprised

I'm new to the game, and watched some of Metro's beginner videos, and enjoying them, even though he stumbles over his own words and repeats already made points at times, he clearly had good intentions with his videos, he seemed like a nice chill dude or rather pretended to be.

Then I tuned in into one of his streams and I was surprised to find out this guy is toxic as hell. He doesn't respect his viewers, unless they agree with him, ridicules people for having different opinions and is talking trash about other cc's it was baffling to see his actual personality on stream.

He was complaining about Matchmaking, like this game has fully released, like it's not even in EA yet? Obviously there are tons of things that are being worked on right now. Giving feedback makes sense and should be done, but not constantly whining, I couldn't stomach watching this dude for more than a minute.

He calls and calls himself the face of the community, which to be fair he is currently, but holy, this guy has to look himself into a mirror and just chill out.

are other streamers and cc as bad as him?

edit: I don't know why, but I was wrong to assume he was the face of the community, he isn't even the biggest cc of this game and only he calls himself that lol, that cracks me up. anyway people like andrewchicken and mikaels are much more enjoyable to watch and follow, thanks guys!

I'll be glad to see metro drop off the face of the earth once the game comes out and all he's left with, is his questionable personality

I think Marathon suffers from people being afraid to try and play this, due to the overwhelmingly negative discourse surrounding Bungie

I've seen a video recently, where the guy said this game is among the most searched entries on steam db, and it still is like that. So if I don't misenterpret something, the game has a ton of interests

the game looks very interesting, with a very distinct artstyle, combined with the gunplay from bungie, I think a lot more people would give this a shot if there wasn't all the negative discussions surrounding it, making it seem like not only this, but destiny could be shut down in the near future, a lot of it is Bungie's own fault, but still.

So if I don't misinterpret steam db's most searched games list, the game has lot of interest, but the uncertainty of bungie and their now 2 main titles, deters most people away to try, in their mind, a potentially soon to be dead game

edit: clearly some of you, not all, didn't even bother to read what I wrote, also being condescending seems like a common thing in this sub or what?

Is the constant steamchart watching part of the reason games get more and more risk-averse?

People just constantly create another steam chart karmafarm slop, not only for this game but so many other games are just measured by their player numbers which is ridiculously stupid.

The bigger reasons are the ridiculous dev times and budgets, but I think these negative low effort and low value posts by the internet, create a ton of damage for games and deter people from even considering trying them.

I know queue times are a major reason as to why we most likely won't get it, but dps are as usual the most played role, and only they would have to wait longer than what everybody is used to, to get into games.

It's bs that the most selfish players in the community can just queue up, force their role and by doing so force others to flex the remaining roles, more often than not, resulting in a shit comp.

We also need role q, so the strats and vanguards are also allowed to play and LEARN dps without throwing, currently there are no ways for them to learn and play dps without severely underperforming and dropping elo, unless they switch accounts. at least enforce a 2 duelist cap man, this shit is awful.

maybe I'm missing something man, idk

Obviously people are desensitized by so many possible different monthly out of sight out of mind charges, like rent, insurance, spotify, netflix etc. but paying so much to just be able to play online for a console you paid for is insane.

I've thought many times about playing specific games, that don't have console-pc crossplay, with console usually having the biggest playerbase in games, paying for online play is such a huge deterrent to use my ps5 more imo

for comparison, I've been playing league for years and tbh, I never thought the game's toxicity was that and the rep it gets, is mostly tied to the past imo.

in MR, bro, I've never seen as many people, who are obviously teens or grown toddlers, in this quantity. the flame and trashtalk isn't even funny, even the way they type looks stupid, I don't care about toxicity in comp games, but I find it hilarious how games like league are seen as top tier toxic comp games, when it's really tame compared to this toddlerfest.

I really like this game btw, but the amount of little bastards in this game is annoying, xd
