The more I think about it, why wasn’t Mr Fantastic a Vanguard? This is a guy who’s canonically 6’1 and can literally morph his body into any shape/size. I whole heartedly think that Mr Fantastic could be/could’ve been a fun innovative shield tank.

I'm really tired of this normalized trend where people are so comfortable with complaining about characters until they become idiot-proof.

I feel like this needs to stop YESTERDAY.

Go to any character main sub, and you'll see people acting like the character is hot garbage.

I legitimately believe that huge swaths of the entire Marvel Rivals community has "My character isn't peak Server Admin Bucky" Syndrome, and just asks for/proposes the most egregious buffs for months on end.

Most of these characters in question are not difficult if you just apply a little bit of thought. It's particularly frustrating because mechanically I feel like Rogue is such a comfy character in terms of balance and the design philosophy of the game.

And Iron Man too, people act like the animation in and out of overdrive is the worst thing ever. It's literally a nonfactor if you know how to play around it by positioning behind cover or rotating with a teammate.

">No one can convince me that fatal attraction is so strong that it needs a damn 14 second cooldown. I’m baffled that was 17 on release"

So she already got a buff to it that it needed then? Do you want to use it 6 times a fight in a sea of other displacement tools to procc Tenacity and make it pointless then? This is an ability that can be refreshed from the absorb too btw!!!

Like I don't understand. Just make characters that require some thought and skill, and have weaknesses that need to be outplayed and THOUGHT ABOUT by the player using them. Best match-up character against DD. Versatile movement. Sustain. Multiple ways to buff damage. A great stun tool. Access to important abilities and passives across the roster.

This is genuinely upsetting, you guys are acting like Sue, Ultron, and Adam players. Learn and improve at your character? No. Instead we're gonna chose to complain our way into the devs buffing them unnecessarily with silly extraneous abilities? I'm tired of this trend where enough people can just exploit the balancing team into external meddling and handholding.

Rogue is probably one of if not the most fun and balanced characters in the game. She doesn't need to be idiot-proof. The reality is she's a balanced character in an unbalanced game and I don't want an interesting kit I find fun to be compromised by all this fucking handholding and mass hysteria.

And furthermore you guys already worship the teamup so much when this character already has two ways of increasing her damage input through Southern Brawl and Absorbing any DPS character's granted passive. 2 more ways of you count having a Storm and a Mantis on board. There are multiple ways to get value on this character, she doesn't need to blow up the neighborhood by holding down primary. This sort of thing communicates to me that you're using the team up as a crutch as if that's her whole kit.

Did White Fox need buffs? No. Did Ultron need two drones? No. Did Adam need flight? No. Did Invis need self sheilds? No. Did Jeff need an immortality circle? No. Did Luna need self flake and to do more damage than Hela? Hell no.

But these changes exist to compensate for the fact that the playerbase is too fucking stupid, to understand that being broken and OP ISN'T supposed to be the standard. Characters like Gambit aren't the standard, and trying to push everyone up to that is how you end up with powercreep.

Speak out about any of this, and you get DROWNED in this God-awful stupid site's echochamber format. I'm so fucking tired of Redditors thinking that the game needs to implement a thousand unnecessary buffs to characters when the game is already balanced.

Why I finally uninstalled Marvel Rivals

I've been playing Marvel Rivals since Season 0. I've always given it a chance, telling myself: "It's a new game, they'll improve it. They'll balance the heroes. They'll fix the community and matchmaking issues." I gave it so many chances, but things aren't getting better—they're getting worse. I actually uninstalled after Season 4.5 and skipped Seasons 5 and 6 entirely. I decided to come back for Season 7 to see if anything had changed, but it's actually in the worst state it's ever been. My peak was Diamond 3.

Here is why I'm officially done:

  1. The Smurf & Boosting Plague (Platinum and below): The number of smurfs in mid-to-low ranks is staggering. It's almost impossible to find a game in Gold or Platinum (and below) without one or more level 20-40 players dominating the lobby. While every competitive game has these issues, in Rivals it's destroying the core experience. You're either playing with/against someone who doesn't belong in your rank because of smurfing, paid boosting services or boosted players carried by smurfs.
  2. The Rank Porting & Cross-play Mess: The implementation of cross-play without rank porting from console to PC is a disaster. I understand the logic (gamepad vs m&k it's a different experience) and it's something every game does, but in a game already plagued by matchmaking issues, it's the last thing we needed. You find "One Above All" players from console starting fresh at Silver or Bronze on PC. They finally added a placement system some seasons ago, but in my opinion, it should have been there since Season 2 or 3. They waited too long, and now the competitive integrity of the game is already broken. No matter how much they tweak placements now, if you don't solve the root cause, nothing will change.
  3. The "Diving" Bias & Skewed Balance: The community's perception of balance is incredibly frustrating. Whenever a Strategist gets a buff to improve their survivability or healing potential, everyone screams for nerfs. Meanwhile, Dive heroes are allowed to do whatever they want with almost-to-zero consequences. In mid-to-low ranks, Dive compositions are indisputably the strongest (when there are little to no smurfs in the game, and that's kinda rare). The game heavily rewards aggressive diving while leaving Strategists and non-dive DPS to suffer.
  4. The Selfish "Long Queues" Excuse of smurfs: I'm tired of high-rank players justifying smurfing because "queues take 10-30 minutes because there are not enough players in this rank." That is a destructive, childish and selfish mindset. By smurfing, you prevent newer players from learning the game and cilmb the ranks in a fair environment. This stops the player base from climbing, which means fewer players at high ranks, keeping your queue times long. It's a toxic cycle, and it's disappointing to see this in a community of adults (because yea, there are kids too, but adults are the worst as for the smurfing problem).
  5. The CC Paradox and the "Dive" Problem: Lately, everyone has been complaining about having too many CC (Crowd Control) abilities, leading the devs to implement systems to mitigate them. This is where the community shows it has no idea how game balance works. While I agree that excessive CC can be annoying, over-mitigating it is a massive mistake. CC is the primary tool to counter Dive compositions. It’s already incredibly hard to land a stun on a skilled Black Panther or Spider-Man; if you nerf CC into the ground, these divers will just run rampant with zero counter-play. By listening to the loudest whiners, the devs are making the Dive meta even more oppressive.

The fun has simply evaporated since season 2. I really wanted this game to succeed, but I can't keep giving chances to a project that seems to ignore its own fundamental flaws.

Yo devs please slow down on the content

What's the use of all that content if you can't keep up with the amount. No one is forcing you to dish out so much content. Just take a break and slow down and fix previous things please. So many new bugs and the skin not even being able to complete on time. They should just chill out and do some optimization first. Rivals players can live with half or 1 season of no new content

Tired of these brainless kidnapper CC machines

Please stop fucking yanking me around holy fuck. Utterly miserable to fight and even worse when you're stuck on solo mag/strange since you can't swap to Thing. Fuck off.

Bonus points if the Predverine uses a rocket jump pad to send you to across the map or he's got his Hulk/Thing throw teamup for his hairy unwashed midget ass.

Noone in this community knows the difference between a hitbox and hurtbox.

Every single creator and commentator i've seen refers to both active hitboxes on a projectile, and damageable parts of a hero's character model (the characters HURTBOX) as a hitbox. It's really starting to irk me as every other community makes the distinction when discussing frame data and what not.
