Tell me what to read next so I can shrink my reading list

I have a giant thriller hold list at the library right now, but my due date is coming up fast and realistically I’m about to have way less reading time with a newborn and a toddler. So I need help cutting the weak links before they all become available at once and stress me out lol.

Which of these are worth keeping, and which can I safely remove from the list without regrets?

The Surgeon (Gerritsen)
The Patient’s Secret (White)
On a Quiet Street (Glass)
Sharp Objects (Flynn)
Gone Girl (Flynn)
Love, Mom (Xander)
Behind Her Eyes (Pinborough)
Jar of Hearts (Hillier)
Little Secrets (Hillier)
The Butcher (Hillier)
Hidden Pictures (Rekulak)
Home Before Dark (Sager)
Gray After Dark (Ihli)
The Perfect Marriage (Rose)
Look Closer (Ellis)
Strangers in the Villa (Harding)
Pretty Girls (Slaughter)
We Are All Guilty Here (Slaughter)
Not Quite Dead Yet (Jackson)
It’s Not Her (Kubica)
The God of the Woods (Moore)
My Husband’s Wife (Feeney)
Wild Dark Shore (McConaghy)

Bonus points if you tell me which ones are absolute page-turners for sleep-deprived postpartum reading 🤣

How do you explain how your body feels right now to someone who’s never been pregnant?

“You know where you’re on a really long car ride and you have to pee SO bad, but there’s nowhere to stop? And then 30 minutes later you finally stop somewhere, stand up to run to the bathroom and then realize someone’s already in there?

That full body pressure/rush while you’re trying to hold it is exactly how I feel everyday… even when I don’t actually have to pee.”

That’s the answer I gave to my husband when he asked me last night how I (31 weeks pregnant) was feeling.

This might sound like a dumb question, especially since I’m a woman myself.

I’ve only had a boy before and now I’m expecting my first girl. When changing a baby girl’s diaper, do you clean/wipe after every pee like we do when we go to the bathroom? Or can that actually irritate her skin if done too often?

I’m sure the nurses will explain everything when the time comes, but I’d love to hear from other parents in the meantime. I feel so dumb 😅

I asked about pronunciation the other day, and now we’ve decided we really like both names just as much. Which one would you choose, and, especially, why? I’d really love to hear what makes one stand out to you over the other. Convince me!

(Please don’t suggest dropping the accent, we speak French so that part is non-negotiable).

Thank you so much!

Ok this is going to be weird, but since childhood, every so often for just a few seconds, my saliva has a very specific taste that instantly brings a feeling of sadness, longing, or wanting to be somewhere else, wanting my mom’s arms. It’s really hard to explain. Has anyone else experienced something like this?

Like the title says, I read The Lullaby Girl, so I know the secret of the main character’s past. Is it still worth a read for the story of the drowned girls?
