I can't stop recommending this book.
Journey Under The Midnight Sun by Keigo Higashino.
One of the most underrated thrillers. Devotion of Suspect X gets all the fame but this one blew my mind.
Brand new book missing pages? Thriller reader’s worst nightmare
I’m on page 184 of Strangers in the Villa by Robyn Harding, fully invested, tension building… and then BAM—suddenly I’m on page 233 like I blacked out mid-plot twist. No ripped pages, no warning, just a chaotic time jump with zero context. The sentences don’t even pretend to connect.
This is a brand new library copy, so now I’m wondering:
printing error?
cursed book?
or is this some next-level psychological thriller experience I wasn’t emotionally prepared for?
Maybe the author will release a part 2, but it’s right in the meaty part of the book where things are unfolding so idk.
Has this ever happened to anyone else, or am I the chosen one for missing chapters?
Robyn Harding really said “plot twist”… and twisted the plot right out of this copy.
I guess it’s not Strangers in the Villa… it’s Pages Missing in the Villa 😭📖
I’ve got a backup copy arriving later today to compare. We’ll see which version survives the twist.
If this turns out to be an elaborate April Fools stunt… hats off to the author/manufacturer for committing this hard to the suspense.

After devouring "I Let You Go", "I See You" and Let Me Lie" several years ago, re-discovering CM

I feel like I am running out of thrillers to read. Any recommendations on something engaging with twists that may not be super popular?
I feel like I am running out of thrillers to read. I know I am not but it feels like it. Looking for recommendations on something that may not be well known but still solid. For reference I do not like Frieda or Charles Donlea. Tried several by both and just couldn't do it. Lisa Jewell is ok. Gillian Flynn is great. Karin Slaughter is great.
I loved The Last House on Needless Street but I've tried a few of her others and I really didn't like them. I just finished A Man Downstairs and I enjoyed that.
What kind of titles can you toss my way that I may not have come across? I appreciate it.

I can't stop recommending this book.
One of the most underrated thrillers.
Devotion of Suspect X gets all the fame but this one blew my mind.
anyone else like Natasha Peterson?
Such quick, fun reads. I wish she was around when I was a teen!!!!
Some of them read like a play due to all the dialogue but I really enjoy that compared to the 900 pages of run on sentences and repetitive story lines a lot of “adult authors” put out.
The Party is definitely my favorite by her!!!!! My first encounter with a YA slasher!!!
Even if all her books don’t hit the same I’ll continue to support her🩸🔪
Realistic political thrillers where the main character is a terrorist?
or just anything close to this.
NOT the terminal list or the hunger games.
Did anyone else feel a bit underwhelmed by The Tenant?
I just finished The Tenant by Freida McFadden and… I don’t know, I feel a bit disappointed.
I actually guessed the twist pretty early on, and after that it kind of took away the tension for me. Some parts also felt a bit far-fetched.
Maybe I’ve just read too many of her books at this point and I’m starting to anticipate her style 😅
Curious to hear what others think — did it work for you or did you see it coming too?
Thriller/Mystery books not centred around murder
Hi! I’ve been really enjoying some thriller books recently. Ward D by Freida McFadden was my favourite and then The Silent Patient (although it’s got a murder in it, I feel like the mystery was more about why she was silent, so I enjoyed it)
Could anyone suggest me more books that have thriller/mystery/suspense, where I’m trying to figure out what on earth is going on but not a murder mystery?
Thanks in advance!!!
Writer-themed thriller recommendations?
Looking for writer-themed psychological thrillers
I’ve realised I really enjoy thrillers that focus on writers/authors as the main character.
I’m a big Stephen King fan, so I loved Misery and The Shining (even if that one leans more horror).
Any recommendations for similar books where the main character is a writer, or the story revolves around writing/publishing?

Hey, all! 👋
Here is the thing - I have published a psychological thriller - Him & Her on Amazon. The free sample - part of Act 1 is available on Amazon. If anyone would like to check it out, please do and let me know if it makes you want to read it further. I am curious. Thanks in advance!

Please help me pick next book for my book club
So to preface, the book club is myself and my sister and we at both very busy moms getting back into reading after years after not reading for pleasure because of schooling.
So we are looking for:
Shorter books 300ish pages maybe?
Short chapters
Easy to read
No hard covers (sisters preference)
We have read so far: Ask For Andrea, The Housemaid, A Flicker in the Dark
I personally preferred ask for Andrea and the housemaid. I am looking for slightly more mature/better quality writing, less cliche, while still keeping it an easy read/page turner. I’m also not the biggest fan of an unreliable narrator but open to it if the book is really good.
I wanted to read Best offer Wins but it was vetoed due to hard cover only.
Here were some suggestions from chat GPT, please tell me what you think we should pick or recommend a different one!
Thank you 😊
