I was too scared to wake her and startle her to get any closer for some more detailed pictures but wow!! She is HUGE!!!! I would assume this gal is the Queen, not sure why she would be away from her hive this late into the season. Any insights?
My gals looking mad but beautiful! I love their lil face markings being different. I cant wait till we get a new one! They are also the prime example of wasps building a nest no matter if there was a previous nest before or not
They have been making great progress on their nest since i was gone a day from work. They both V'd at me at one point today and spooked each other and it was silly. I learned that they dont appreciate my hat so i take it off around them to be respectful.
So i found this guy and forgot to post him/her. I wanted to ask about this species and alike. Can they sting? I am aware the females have the long ovipositor that looks like a stinger but isnt if im not mistaken. Do these types have the capacity to sting, as well as those tinier ones that I see people post. Thanks for any info! Always trying to learn so i can not be afraid
North Eastern, PA for ID please! She was very large compared to most paper wasps I see, i love nature using nature!!
I have these guys at work. They arent aggressive and the original queen was always very calm and minded her own business. But her underling is a little bit more protective and raises their wings every time i come by to go into the shed. Im not scared of them yet, they havent done anything to consider them aggressive but what can i do other than stand there, tell them its okay that my presence is not a threat. I know they have facial recognition so im counting on that helping me out with the way im trying to show them im peaceful.

Was super happy to see this mayo spoon and bowl for $2 on a post on a local fb group, i dont buy much glass anymore as i feel my collection is vibrant and full of unique glass i love, but couldnt turn down a nice drive to get some cheap glass. Please dont mind the dust. I prefer dusty glass over broken glass lol. I dont mind some dust if it prevents me from breaking my glass. 😅
My partner is wanting to look into HRT options and I was wondering if anyone knows of a good doctor who works in that field. Theres a lot of online drs for it but id prefer someone in person so we can truly decide what we want to do.

Saw this gal today, sorry for the in and out focus. I couldnt see my screen in the sun, but she was so beautiful and tbh its not often i see a spider i dont know roughly what it is but she has me stumped. I will definitely be checking in on her periodically when i can!
Sorry the video isnt the best, i couldnt see my screen with the sun. But i believe this lil guy was an ant mimic jumping spider. I wanted him to move around to show his little moves, i made sure to tell him sorry for poking him/her 🥺
My version of seeing a celebrity is finding a black widow. People swear they arent in PA but look at this lil guy. Makes me remember Miss Scary Mary I kept when I found her in a very public area a few years ago. I made sure this friend is safely relocated so he can enjoy his life!
We have a dove nest at work and unfortunately mom gets spooked when I have to come by and spray (i do landscaping). I try to be very careful not to scare her but she is such a timid mom. I was able to snap a few pics when she leaves and these babies are growing so fast! These are jn a matter of two days! Such a good mama dove! Its very warm here and she comes back fairly quickly when I leave thankfully. I feel so bad when she leaves them. Makes my heart sink cause she is so flappy when she leaves and shakes the bush around.
