Tidal vs Spotify Lossless vs ..?

Tidal vs Spotify Lossless vs ..?

I’ve been on Spotify forever and now I’ve got the lossless feature. Sounds good, but I’m curious about other options after going around to shops to audition speakers and not one of them used Spotify.

I’ve got a Tidal subscription for the next 30-days, but it’s the same CD quality fidelity / FLAC audio on Spotify lossless (unless I’m misunderstanding something).

What else is out there? What do we like?

For reference, I’m currently streaming through a Marantz AV 30 using the HEOS function. Marantz is hardwired to gig+ internet with regular download speeds of 1200-1400Mbps.

Am I missing out not having another service? A different streamer DAC? Is it all a bunch of hooey?

I’ve reached my endgame listening setup

Just picked up these Sonus Faber Electa Amator IIIs and I gotta say I’m blown away. Huge soundstage, incredibly holographic imaging.

Gentlemen at the showroom was telling me his staff went to visit Sonus Faber recently and talked about the production of this speaker line. According to him they’re individually hand sanded by the same old Italian guy. I don’t know how I’d verify that myself, so I suppose now I need to take a trip to Italy. For science.

Update on the Electa Amator IIIs

These speakers are incredible. The Watermelon Man is in the room with me right now..

What a massive step up from my Polk Legends.

And before you tell me to get stands, just know I can’t. This is as good as it gets in my space and honestly they sound as good as they did in the treated listening room on stands earlier today. Maybe missing a hair of depth to the soundstage, but it’s nothing to complain about.
