What's the best way to connect with smaller Twitch streamers?

Hey everyone!

Since there are quite a few gaming streamers here, I was curious about this from the creator side of things.

Do you put yourself out there for collaborations on specific games, or is it more something that happens automatically, if at all? And if you are looking for collabs, how do you make sure people can actually find you?

As a game developer currently looking into collaborations with streamers, I'm kinda interested in what you like to see when being approached.

Would you ever play a relatively unknown game just for fun? Only if you could see your viewers enjoying the game? Or does it mostly depend on wether it's a paid promotion?

Would love some feedback!

Cheers

This is something that often comes up in game dev subs, so I figured I'd try just asking you guys directly!

As I'm currently in the same situation, I'd really like to hear everyone's thoughts on how you personally like being approached.

I’m curious about things like:

- Best way to contact you (email, Discord, Twitter/X DMs etc.)

- Paid sponsorships vs free keys vs other collaboration types

- What makes you instantly avoid a game or message?

- Are you even interested in being approached, in general, or does it mostly feel like noise?

Would love to hear everyone's thoughts!

Cheers

I'm finding lots of different posts about how to select and message streamers and YouTubers.

What I can't find much information on is how to actually go about finding them in the first place. I checked out SullyGnome, but it seems pretty limited and only covers Twitch.

Not talking about general promotion, getting attention or similar stuff.

It's a lot of work, but I'd love to hear how you actually go about looking for them, as I'm currently doing just that for Broadside Bets.

So I'm going to participate in the June Steam Next Fest with Broadside Bets.

I'm currently finishing up the demo but I can't decide on what content to actually put in there.

The map and enemies the players will encounter are seed based, so I will probably put the first 2 stages and a few preselected seeds into the demo.

Each stage has has 1 traditional ship boss and one more special encounter.

Should I just put it all in the demo and let players play through everything for the first 2 stages? Just to show off some variety? Or should I lock it to 1 specific boss per map and only make the others available in the full build? If so, which ones should I pick?

Would love to get some feedback!

Cheers
