Building Pokémon Starter Characters in D&D 5e (Minimal Homebrew)
I’m relatively new to D&D, and a friend and I are trying to make a Pokémon-themed campaign where the players choose pre-made characters inspired by starter Pokémon. The thing is, I want the characters to stay as close as possible to the actual starter Pokémon, canon-wise, without having to invent too many custom classes or races.
So we’d like to hear some suggestions. Maybe we’re overlooking something, or maybe we need to be corrected.
So far, this is what we’ve got:
Bulbasaur – Grung Druid (Circle of the Spore)
Charmander – Lizardfolk Sorcerer (Draconic Bloodline)
Squirtle – Tortle Warrior (Gunslinger)
Chikorita – Saurial Druid (Circle of Dreams)
Cyndaquil – Musty Artificer (Artillerist)
Totodile – Lizardfolk Barbarian (Path of the Beast)
Treecko - Lizardfolk Sorcerer (Draconic Bloodline)
Torchic – Gallus Monk
Mudkip – Lotol Barbarian
Turtwig - Tortle Druid (Circle of the Land)
Chimchar – Hadozee Monk
Piplup – Dohwar Warrior (Battle Master)
Snivy - Yuan Ti Rogue (Mastermind)
Tepig – Porcein Warrior (Battle Master)
Oshawott – Musty Warrior (Samurai)
Chespin – Hedge Paladin
Fennekin – Vulpin Wizard
Froakie – Grung Rogue (Assassin)
Rowlet – Owlin Ranger (Gloom Stalker)
Litten – Tabaxi Barbarian (Path of the Beast)
Popplio - Selkie Bard (College of Glamour)
Grookey – Hadozee Bard
Scorbunny – Harengon (No idea what to do with this one)
Sobble - Lizardfolk Ranger (Gloom Stalker)
Sprigatito - Tabaxi Rogue (Swashbuckler)
Fuecoco - Lizardfolk Bard (College of Spirits)
Quaxly - Aarakocra Monk (Way of the Drunken Master)
