🚨 MAMBA SCHEDULED FOR EUTHANASIA TODAY MAY 11 @ 2PM 🚨

her name is mamba.

and if you’ve ever looked at a dog and felt like she’s holding more than she can say, that’s her.

a 3 year old black cane corso girl sitting in kennel d 61 at devore shelter since april 15, 2026.

she was confiscated from a property along with many other dogs from the same situation, all of them coming in together, all of them trying to adjust together in a place that never really slows down long enough to let them feel safe for long.

mamba is one of those dogs you notice without her trying to be noticed. big presence, soft in the middle of it. the kind of dog who probably learned early how to read a room, how to watch before she moves, how to stay steady even when nothing around her feels steady.

she’s been there through all of it with the others from that intake… dogs she knew, dogs she shared space with, dogs she watched come and go in different directions while she stayed behind waiting for her turn to make sense of things.

but mamba deserves more than waiting.

she deserves to be seen as someone’s dog, not just another kennel number passing through a system that moves too fast.

🚨 MIXY 🚨 SCHEDULED FOR EUTHANASIA TODAY MAY 10 @ 2PM 🚨

i know this isn’t the best video, but it’s the only one i was able to take today.

when i walked up to mixy’s kennel, she wasn’t explosive or chaotic like her notes might suggest. she was wiggly. curious. constantly moving toward anything she could focus on, like she was trying to be part of whatever was happening outside her kennel.

a 3 years old cane corso mix, medium fawn and white, sitting on the urgent list and labeled for behavior observation.

her notes mention resource guarding water, and being selective with other dogs, but what stood out to me in person wasn’t that.

it was her energy.

she kept shifting closer to the front of the kennel, watching me, trying to engage, like she didn’t want to miss a second of connection with a human standing there.

and then her eyes would lock on mine.

not in a scary way. not in an aggressive way. just steady, focused, like she was asking without words what happens next for her.

like she’s already learned that people come and go, and she’s still trying anyway.

and now she’s out of time.

mixy is scheduled for euthanasia today at 2pm.

we literally don’t have very much time left for her.

please share her everywhere. she needs a rescue, foster, or experienced adopter immediately.

she came in already broken down in a way that’s hard to explain unless you see it.

she was emaciated on arrival, the kind of thin where you can’t explain it away with simple words like “underweight.” it looks like endurance. like a body that has already been asked for too much, for too long.

and she wasn’t alone.

she came in with 9 babies.

and she still showed up for them in every way she could. not partially. not inconsistently. completely. like whatever she had left of herself automatically belonged to them first.

she was labeled “aggressive,” but what was actually there didn’t match that story. what was there was exhaustion. pain. a mother whose body looked like it hurt just to exist, but who still positioned herself around her babies like that was her only job left in the world.

then mastitis developed.

and it changed everything.

it became painful for her to nurse, and she was getting worse. her condition wasn’t just uncomfortable it was becoming medically dangerous, and she was no longer able to safely care for the puppies the way they needed. because of the mastitis and how severe it was becoming, the puppies had to be removed for their safety and for hers.

and that moment mattered. because it wasn’t abandonment. it was intervention. it was the point where her body could no longer sustain what her heart was still trying to do.

and after that, she kept deteriorating.

she got thinner. weaker. more depleted, like everything she had been surviving on had already been spent and there was nothing left to refill it.

and now the puppies are gone.

not because she stopped loving them… but because her body reached a point where continuing together was no longer safe.

what’s left is silence where chaos used to be. pressure that is no longer there. and a mother still standing in the aftermath of everything she gave away to keep them alive as long as she could.

🚨 EXTREMELY URGENT! 🚨

baby boy has every reason to have given up. but somehow… he never did.

when he first arrived at the shelter, he was heartbreakingly emaciated. his body told the story of neglect, of going without, of surviving instead of living. day by day, he slowly began to heal, finally putting on the healthy weight he deserved.

but that wasn’t the worst of it… his intake came with another devastating blow. an assumed painful leg injury then led to fears no dog should face. at first, it was believed to be bone cancer. the kind of diagnosis that crushes hope in an instant. but after thorough testing and lab work, the truth came out. baby boy doesn’t have cancer. he has valley fever, something treatable, but requiring long term care and commitment.

when i was at the shelter earlier today, i spent some time with him. he is the sweetest soul, but it broke my heart seeing how shut down he is because no one has chosen to help him yet. the shelter is taking good care of him, but this boy deserves so much more than what he’s currently getting.

many staff members are absolutely in love with him, and they want nothing more than for him to go to a reputable rescue who can continue his treatments and eventually find him the forever home he deserves.

and through every setback, every painful chapter, every moment of uncertainty… baby boy has remained the same gentle soul. still loving. still social. still wagging his tail. still choosing kindness. he greets people with joy despite everything he endures.

dogs like baby boy are extraordinary. not because they’ve suffered, but because they continue to love anyway. now he just needs someone willing to love him back.

🚨 CLEO 🚨 SCHEDULED FOR EUTHANASIA TODAY MAY 10 @ 2PM 🚨

this boy has broken my heart more than once.

his brother got adopted. he got to leave the shelter. and cleo was left behind.

he’s been sitting out in the shelter tent for weeks, never even moved into public view where people could actually see him, meet him, and adopt him. just hidden away, out of sight, like he never got a fair chance to be chosen.

and it doesn’t make sense when you see him.

he’s a quiet, shy little pit bull puppy. not reactive, not chaotic, just soft and reserved in a way that makes you slow down when you’re standing in front of him.

he was recently boosted on vaccines and noted as improving with his upper respiratory symptoms. this video was taken today, and he looks fine.

just a young dog sitting there, looking back at you like he’s waiting for something he’s never really been given the chance to understand.

he should have been seen weeks ago. he should have had the same chance his brother got.

instead, he’s scheduled for euthanasia today at 2pm.

please share him everywhere. he deserves a chance.

i just stood in front of kennel d 66 and looked at two 9 week old babies who should not be here.

theon and jaime. both just puppies. both still fighting through illness moving through the litter. both still eating, still alert, still doing everything a baby should be doing except living somewhere safe.

and when i looked at them, they both looked back at me.

those kind of puppy eyes that don’t understand any of this. just looking like they’re trying to figure out who i am and if i’m there to change anything for them.

they are scheduled for euthanasia today at 2pm.

what makes this even harder is their mom, mama carla, is still here too. and she should not be left behind. if a rescue steps up for these babies, mama should go with them. they belong together. no one should be separated like that.

this is a whole little family caught in the system, running out of time.

please share them everywhere. they need rescue, foster, or adoption immediately.

🚨 TOAST 🚨 SCHEDULED FOR EUTHANASIA TODAY MAY 10 @ 2PM 🚨 toast is literally tucked away in a kennel, out of public view, waiting for someone to decide if he gets to live or not. a 1 year 1 month old small black and tan pit bull terrier mix, sitting on the urgent list and labeled rescue only.

🚨 TOAST 🚨 SCHEDULED FOR EUTHANASIA TODAY MAY 10 @ 2PM 🚨

toast is literally tucked away in a kennel, out of public view, waiting for someone to decide if he gets to live or not.

a 1 year 1 month old small black and tan pit bull terrier mix, sitting on the urgent list and labeled rescue only.

and when i look at him, what i see is a dog who is trying.

he’s been through a lot in a short life. medical notes show past tapeworms, vaccines, treatment, and most recently a small kennel injury from a dog interaction that led to care being provided. there are also notes about altercations in a high stress play yard environment, which has now landed him on the most at risk list.

but what stands out in front of me is not a “dangerous” dog.

it’s a dog in a chaotic environment, reacting like so many dogs do when overstimulated, confined, and constantly rotated through stressful introductions and kennel stress.

toast is not sitting there giving up.

he’s alert. he’s watching. he’s still engaged with people when they pass by. like he’s trying to figure out how to do better in a place that keeps escalating around him.

and now he is scheduled for euthanasia today at 2pm.

this poor boy is out of time.

please share toast everywhere. he needs a rescue, foster, or experienced adopter immediately.

🚨 REGGIE SCHEDULED FOR EUTHANASIA TODAY MAY 10 @ 2PM 🚨

i just met reggie.

a 2 year old american bulldog mix who is now sitting on the urgent list, labeled “aggressive,” and facing euthanasia.

but before i met him, i read his notes.

the shelter describes him as charging forward, barking, growling, baring teeth, showing offensive posturing, and even states he has bitten multiple people. it also notes a reported incident of a bite in a parking lot while he was at large.

those are heavy, serious notes. and i am not dismissing them.

but i also have to say what i personally experienced matters too.

because when i stood in front of reggie, i did not see the dog described in those kennel notes.

i saw a dog who was aware of me, alert, and engaged, but not showing the behaviors documented in his file during my visit. no charging. no growling. no lunging. no overt aggression while i was there.

just a young bulldog mix sitting in front of me, taking in his surroundings.

his medical notes also show he has been dealing with a respiratory infection, with nasal discharge and treatment through doxycycline, which can absolutely add to kennel stress and overall presentation.

what stood out most is this: he came in with his sibling, and she was euthanized yesterday. now he is next.

and i keep thinking about how quickly these decisions happen inside a shelter environment, and how a single setting can define a dog’s entire outcome.

i don’t have all the details of his past. i can’t speak to what happened before he arrived here.

but i can say what i saw in the moment does not fully match the way he is being presented in his kennel behavior notes.

and he deserves more eyes on him before today ends.

please share reggie everywhere. he needs a rescue, experienced foster, or committed adopter immediately.

🚨 GUAPO 🚨 SCHEDULED FOR EUTHANASIA TODAY MAY 10 @ 2PM 🚨

guapo is sitting in the shelter tent, out of public view. you wouldn’t even know he’s there unless you were looking for him.

a 3 years old tricolor and white pit bull terrier mix, sick, on the urgent list, and out of time today.

when i met him, he wasn’t performing anything. no big reaction, no chaos. he just stood there and looked at me like i was something new in a place where nothing new really happens.

and he kept doing that thing dogs do when they’re trying to read you without moving too much. just watching. steady. locked in. not in a scary way—more like he’s been waiting long enough that he doesn’t want to miss a single chance when it finally shows up.

he’s got a cough noted in his records, is on medication, still eating and drinking, still considered stable enough in that sense—but none of that changes where he is on the list.

what stays with me is how normal he felt in the moment i saw him. like a dog who just wants out, not a dog who’s given up.

but today he’s still scheduled for euthanasia at 2pm.

guapo doesn’t need to be understood in paperwork right now. he needs someone to see him and step in.

please share him everywhere. he needs a rescue, foster, or adopter immediately.
