📝 Shelter Notes:

5/13/2026: Nugget was in the back of the kennel laying down, alert ears neutral body and face. Was able to leash and he got up and followed me out to the runs. Held a loose leash walking ahead of me, low swaying tail and erect ears.

5/15/2026: Nugget is at the front of the kennel ready to go outside, holds a loose leash, wagging tail and loose body. Walked to and from the runs no issues.

5/16/2026: Was moved to the North Building today. Nugget has been barking all morning, standing at the front of the kennel, heavily panting, with a low tail and dilated pupils. Covered kennel.

5/17/2026: When approaching this morning I could see that Nugget was heavy panting, with a tense/stiff body. She leashed well but walked on a semi-loose leash to the runs, occasionally trying to pull ahead but would redirect for treats. Coming back in she continued to walk on a semi-loose leash and since being back in her kennel she has been non-stop vocalizing.

5/17/2026 13:07: Alarm barking from behind sheet when citizens were walking through the row after opening.

5/18/2026: Nugget continues to be vocal in the morning and when people pass by. Extra enrichment was offered, and he quieted down for a bit but eventually started barking again. The kennel door remains covered.

5/4/2026: Dog last night / this morning was scratching the kennel food trough. Blood was in the kennel and she was sticking her head though the trough.

5/5/2026: dog was sitting in her kennel and when i leashed him he walked lose leash outside and as i brought him back inside he walked lose leash to his kennel.

5/6/2026: Dog is at the front of the kennel loose body, wagging tail and vocalizing. Opening the kennel door he walks out on a loose leash, wagging tail and loose body. Walked to and from the runs no issues.

5/7/2026: Dog is at the front of the kennel wiggly body wagging tail and open mouth panting. On the leash he is jumpy, loose body wagging tail and erect ears.

5/8/2026: Walked out on a loose leash, wiggly body and wagging tail.

5/10/2026: dog walks lose leash and roams in the run but while its in the kennel dog begins to be very vocal as i walk other dogs or just walk by him.

5/11/2026: Stands at the front of the kennel as he presents loose body, wagging tail and soft close mouth. Walked on a loose leash as he followed the trail of treats. Vocal when passing by.

5/12/2026: Mr. Dog will be standing at the front of the kennel with a loose body, wagging tail and soft close mouth. Walked on a loose leash as he followed the trail of treats to the runs.

5/13/2026: Mr. Dog will be standing at the front of the kennel with a loose body, wagging tail and soft close mouth. Walked on a loose leash taking treats.

5/14/2026: vocal in the morning painted kennel when walking dog he is attached to my hip looking upwards, is vocal when i walk by kennel throughout day.

5/15/2026: this morning he didnt paint kennel and waited patiently to be leashed when walking he walks alongside me heeling when i stop . going to the kennel run he waits to be unleashed walking back he walks in between my legs taking steps when i step. went into kennel and remained quiet throughout cleaning.

5/16/2026: During both morning feedings and walks, Dog was overly aroused in his kennel; dilated eyes, heavy panting, jumping around the kennel, high pitch barking, forward body, and high wagging tail. He was walked on a semi-loose leash due to walking under and very close to me along with attempting to jump on me as well. He paid little attention to other dogs as he walked by them to and from the outside runs. Once back in his kennel, throughout the rest of the morning in his kennel he was non-stop vocalizing until morning walks were done and the aisle was quiet.

5/17/2026: dog was laying down and when i approached dog began to be very vocal as i walked by with other dogs and when i was going to leash him he had wiggly body and once leashed he walked semi tight to the run and was roaming around looking at the dogs from treatment and back in his kennel he walked lose leash and was quiet due to no one walking by that side.

5/18/2026: During both morning feedings and walks, Dog was vocalizing at anything that passed his kennel and painted his kennel as well. Throughout the morning he was jumping around in his kennel and knocking over his water bucket. He was walked on a loose leash with a wiggly body, ears up, open mouth smile, and fast wagging tail.

5/19/2026: During both morning feedings and walks, Dog was vocalizing at anything that passed his kennel. Throughout the morning he was jumping around in his kennel and whining non-stop as well. He was walked on a loose leash with a wiggly body, ears up, open mouth smile, and fast wagging tail. During the walk, he was walking very close to me and would sometime walk between my legs, circle around me, and jump on me as well. I offered him treats and he ate them and continued the previous behavior.

5/3/2026: Weighed 43.6 lbs. Normal exam. Has hairloss on back right leg. Dog also has a healed wound on back right as well. No treatment needed. No hairloss elsewhere. SS:NSF.

Hello,

Snowflake was turned in as a stray on 12-26-25. She is young, energetic, and vocal. She has no medical conditions noted.

Please let us know if you can help Snowflake, she will be in danger on 1-3-26.

📝 Shelter Notes:

12/28 Approaching her kennel she was standing by the door quietly, tail down, tensed, trembling. Walks on a tight leash pulling

forward. While outside she just looked around very alert ears forward. Walking back in she was flinchy as i was checking her

ID band. Placed her into new kennel and took leash off no issue

12/29 While Nellie was in the outside run, she was consistently vocalizing and jumping on the run gate. Overly aroused even when

she was being walked, she was walked on a tight leash and would attempt to chase come birds when treats were on the

ground for her. When she was in her run, she would sometimes yelp and cry in the run for a short time.

During PM feeding, Nellie was still being overly aroused and jumping up on the gate. As I entered the run, she started to

jump on me and paw at my stomach. I gave her treats on her cot to redirect her.

12/30 During morning feeding, Nellie was bouncing around in her run and yelping. During morning walks, she was still being overly

aroused in her run and even painted in her run. While walking, Nellie was walked on a tight leash and pulling in different

directions and while in the run, she was jumping and pawing at the gate. On the way back, she was bouncing around me

and walked on a tight leash still. I offered treats but she continued after eating the treats. She even attempted to chase

some birds.

1/1 jumping on kennel door nonstop when trying to leash she is trying to jump with mouth open towards my face. when

leashing she began to pull forward on tight leash outside she begins to whine when i walk away. coming back to go leash

her she is jumpin nonstop i have to fully step in and try to leash while she is jumping upwards.

5/18 tense body, had to muzzle during working. Growling in vehicle, foster had to bring in

5/16/2026: Approaching kennel to place new kennel card, she is non-stop high-pitched barking with extended mouth pant, and fast tail wag as AC is cleaning neighboring kennel as well as when we leave the front of her kennel. She paces from front to back as well as continues to be vocal and attempts to begin to scratch the guillotine. Tossed over treats but she remained doing the same thing.

Later in the morning, I gave her extra enrichment to occupy her time for the rest of the morning.

📝 Shelter Notes:

5/7/2026: When opening kennel she moved to back of kennel with legs tucked underneath her. Slowly placed leash on her and she began pulling back on leash. Showed no interest in treats or baby talk. Once fully walked in kennel she army crawled fast out of kennel into a new kennel.

5/8/2026: Upon opening kennel door she cowarded in the back of kennel. Slowly leashed and walked very slowly outside. Showed no interest in treats.

5/9/2026: Greeted at the front of kennel with a semi tense body and slow wagging tail. Walked on a loose leash outside.

5/11/2026: Gemini greeted volunteer at the front of the kennel with a worried expression, lip licking, and erect ears. She took a few steps out but then ran back into kennel. Volunteer lightly muzzled and carried her out, then tethered leash to wall.

5/12/2026: Ms. Gemini greeted volunteer at the front of the kennel presenting a worried expression when approached. Volunteer was able to leash her and she walked on a loose leash. When startled she would pull back some but used a lot of baby talk and treats.

5/14/2026: Timid in the morning. Went into the runs to potty. Vocal in kennel when people walked by in the morning.

5/15/2026: Had to move kennels due to her jumping her kennel and getting stuck on the wire part. Another ACT helped get her down.

5/16/2026: During morning walks Gemini was crouch walking on a loose leash to the outside runs. While in the run she jumped the fence between South D and runs and paced back and forth while watching other dogs. She walked back on a loose leash and was energetic outside as well. Once inside she became shy and timid, crouching back to her kennel. Throughout the morning she jumped around her kennel trying to jump out and pulling her sheet covering her kennel gate. Gemini ignored enrichment Kong given near kennel gate.

5/17/2026: During cleaning volunteer saw Gemini had knocked her water pail off the carabiner and flipped it toward the back of kennel and moved her bed overnight. Later when returned to kennel she began high pitch vocalizing and jumping midway up onto gate scraping the bars trying to escape.

5/17/2026: Dog in run jumped out of fence and was between the runs of South D and South C. Staff quickly approached and leashed her. Will make leash walk only.

5/10/2026: Pushed out his kibble bin and was lounging in his kennel with his chin resting in the gap. Walked with loose leash out to runs and back.

5/12/2026: When walking by dog begins to be vocal and as i leashed him he walked loose leash and as i placed him in a run he roamed with wagging tail and as i got him he walked in his kennel and stood in front of the kennel.

5/13/2026: Approaching dog he was growling, high wagging tail. I leash him he walked out with a neutral body, followed me outside. When muzzling to pick him up he was growling, tensed body, whale eyes.

5/14/2026: Alexio presents a neutral body.

5/14/2026: Alexio presents a neutral body whenever i approached him. he kept his kennel clean overnight. As i walked him by other dogs, some dogs were growling at him over the cover, but he ignored them and just kept on walking.

5/16/2026: Alexio forward lunged, forward barked and snarled at his neighboring dog (Duke A2072544) as I walked him past Alexio's kennel. Alexio had his hair hackled and dilated eyes at this time. He has been vocal on and off throughout the day, especially when he's not getting attention but neighboring dogs are.

5/17/2026: When moving a move adopt inside and walked passed Alexio's kennel, he came barking into his kennel door slamming himself into it, growling, forward lunging, snarling, growling, stiffened high flagging tail and furrowed brows.

Violet presented a wiggly body, fast wagging tail and floppy ears. Leashing she walked out of the kennel jumping on me,

walked to and from the runs no issues

Dog was sitting at the front of the kennel with a loose body, open mouth, low wagging tail, walked on a foward leash. In

the run after a bit outside she was crying. She was jumping on the runs door. I leashed her and she walked on a foward

leash.

During morning feedings, Violet was sitting on the floor and slowly rolling over her on her back as I started to pet her side.

She presented with a open mouth smile, wiggling body, soft eyes, and floopy ears. Violet was walked on a loose leash and energetic to and from the outside runs. She paid little attention to other dogs as she passed them by. While in the runs, she

started to play with another dog next to her by play bowing towards them and running with them along the fence line.

dog was in the kennel and when i leashed her she walked lose leash to the runs and back and once i brought her back she

lay down.

Violet was walked on a loose leash presenting with a wiggling body, floopy ears, open mouth smile, high wagging tail, and

soft eyes. She was very energetic towards me and other dogs as they passed by her in the run or next to her outside.

5/1/2026: Lying down on blanket. I opened kennel and he presented a semi tense body, pulled back ears. I leashed and used baby talk and he followed me out at a slow pace. Had to use a bit of encouragment to get him to walk through doors because he would pull back a bit.

5/2/2026: Wagging his tail with the baby talk so I leash him up to go outside and he walks with loose leash, he takes chicken and he potty in the grass.

5/5/2026: Mr. Jarvis will come up to his door with a wagging his tail with the baby talk so I leash him up to go outside and he walks with loose leash. Did notice in his kennel he becomes vocal.

5/6/2026: Walked on tight leash to go to runs afterwards when he is walking back he is more relaxed wanting attention. takes treats well.

5/10/2026: Dog was in the kennel and as i leashed him he walked lose leash and as i placed him in the run he roamed around then as i leashed him again he walked lose leash to his kennel.

5/12/2026: Mr. Jarvis was a little vocal when i went to leash him, he does seat in front of his kennel with a calm body. He was easy to leash . when walking out he was ready to go , walked a forward leash to the runs. Coming back he was calm and walked on a lose leash.

5/15/2026: Laying on bed when waiting to be leashed walking outside he walks forward wanting to go to outside runs. is vocal in kennel during cleaning when bringing back inside.

5/16/2026: Jarvis was walked on a tight leash due to forward pulling and in multiple directions on his way to the outside runs. He paid little attention to other dogs as he passed them by and vice versa and did a good job of keeping his kennel clean overnight. While in his kennel, he was consistently scratching and hitting his doggy door and manage to get out by opening it as I was out walking dogs. I was able to place him back and keep him from repeating the action by giving him an extra enrichment Kong to occupy him but ignored it. Throughout most of the morning, he has been forward and high pitch vocalizing in front of his kennel but stopped after morning walks were done and the aisle was quiet.

5/17/2026: When cleaning kennel he is super fixated on the water and begin high pitch screaming, digging at the back of guillotine and starts jumping on the sides of walls. As I leaned over to see exactly what he was doing he then jumped up at my face growling and snapping then returned to barking at the water.

5/18/2026: Retrieved dog from the runs. He had a loose body and walked on a loose lead as I took him inside placing him in a kennel.

5/9/2026: Noticed that there was a small pile of undigested kibble in the kennel. Seems to be eating well (food bowl empty) and drinking. Will monitor for any more vomiting.

5/10/2026 08:44: Dog is QAR. Clear foamy phlegm on the floor cage. No signs of nasal discharge coughing or gagging at this moment. Eating well.

5/13/2026: Vaccinated with DA2PP-V.

5/2/2026: Mr. George greet me with a open mouth smile. He was easy to leash, once walked out he does pulls strongly on leash, having to redirect him to slow him down.

5/4/2026: George greets me at the front of the kennel with a relaxed body. He walks on a tight leash to and from the runs. He was impatient and would paw at every door and then push through it as soon as it was cracked open.

5/6/2026: George pulled hard on the leash whenever i walked him, i gave him treats, but he did not take them, i would stop walking to see if he would slow down, and he did, but eventually would start pulling hard again. In kennel, he pushed his bed all the way to the front hiding his water bowl. i gave him treats and he moved away and let me push his bed back. He is just silently laying in his bed.

5/8/2026: Quiet in kennel. Once he saw me he quickly got up and allowed me to leash him. He walked on a tight leash occasionally pulling me with him. Ignored treats and baby talk. In the runs he just sniffed round and was quiet. Coming back inside he still walked on a tight leash but i had no issues placing him back into kennel.

5/11/2026: George was walked on a loose leash to South B from South D. He was presenting with a wiggling body, ears up, close lip smile, soft eyes. As I was walking him to his new kennel, George would turn to look at me and wiggle his body towards me. I would start to scratch his bottom as he walked and he was very happy about the interaction.

5/12/2026: George was walked on a tight leash due to forward pulling on the leash and in multiple directions to and from the outside runs. He presented on his way out with a wiggling body, ears up, close lip smile, soft eyes. Did not mind me scratching his bottom on the way to the outside runs. He would give stare at other dogs and make and attempt to go near them but was redirected by the leash and treats. He did a good job of keeping his kennel clean overnight.

5/13/2026: Walks on tight leash pulled forward when trying to go outside ignored treats when walking. Did not stop when i was walking him dragging me forward to another act who had a dog. Walking back he is still forward but did not drag me. Goes into kennel and sat for me to unleash him.

5/15/2026: At front of kennel when leashed dog begins to pull on very tight leash to the point of clawing the ground. Tried offering treats to help him slow down and it did not help had to harness which helped a bit with pulling.

4/23/2026: Weighed 79.0 lbs. Intake condition normal. Vaccinated with DA2PP-V, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccine. Dewormed and given Pyrantel and Advantage Multi flea prevention. Heartworm test NAD negative.

5/1/2026: Hacking cough, coughing up phlegm, some green nasal discharge. Diagnosed with URI. Moved to treatment room and started on Doxycycline 350 mg SID for 10 days.

5/11/2026: 10 days of doxycycline completed. No clinical signs observed. URI resolved. Moved out of treatment kennel.

5/11/2026: Medium sized black and white female - may have just had puppies - caller states she bit someone walking down the street but victims info is not available for bite case.

5/12/2026: Dog was in the kennel and when I leashed him he walked loose leash outside and back.

5/13/2026: Greeted me at the front of the kennel with an open mouth, soft eyes, and neutral body. Easily leashed, walked with loose leash outside to the runs. Mostly kept to self outside in the runs. Easily leashed and returned to kennel. Some vocalization in kennel but settles quickly.

5/14/2026: Standing with slow wagging tail at kennel door, loose leash out to runs and back.

5/16/2026: Noticed that as a volunteer walked by with a wiggly dog by his kennel, Heman suddenly lunged and forward barked at dog passing by. Stopped after tossing over treats but continues to vocalize as other dogs around him do also.

5/17/2026: Heman is loudly vocalizing throughout the day. Began fighting with neighbor dogs and disrupting the whole row and causing a ripple effect when becoming overly aroused in kennel, placing on behavior watch also has previous note of lunging.

5/11/2026: Approaching kennel, dog has content body language. I opened the kennel leashing her and she exited the kennel walking on a loose lead. I walkd her outside and placed her in a run, she was neutral in the run.

5/12/2026: easy to leash relaxed body, neutral eyes and ears. walked on a loose leash to and from run. quiet in kennel

5/13/2026: was brought as a move adopt in the morning. presented a relaxed body, mid wagging tail and soft open mouth. walked on a loose leash and entered kennel with no issues.

PM WALK THROUGH: when walking though row tessi began to low growl with a hard stare, tense body, raised hackles,and stiff tail. covered kennel and will continue to monitor. offered a pig ear as second enrichment.

5/13/2026: During walkthrough dog lunged forward, barking, growling, showing teeth, hackles up. I baby talked to her and she continue to growl at me, tensed body, whale eyes

5/2/2026: Mr. George greet me with a open mouth smile. He was easy to leash, once walked out he does pulls strongly on leash, having to redirect him to slow him down.

5/4/2026: George greets me at the front of the kennel with a relaxed body. He walks on a tight leash to and from the runs. He was impatient and would paw at every door and then push through it as soon as it was cracked open.

5/6/2026: George pulled hard on the leash whenever i walked him, i gave him treats, but he did not take them, i would stop walking to see if he would slow down, and he did, but eventually would start pulling hard again. In kennel, he pushed his bed all the way to the front hiding his water bowl. i gave him treats and he moved away and let me push his bed back. He is just silently laying in his bed.

5/8/2026: Quiet in kennel. Once he saw me he quickly got up and allowed me to leash him. He walked on a tight leash occasionally pulling me with him. Ignored treats and baby talk. In the runs he just sniffed round and was quiet. Coming back inside he still walked on a tight leash but i had no issues placing him back into kennel.

5/10/2026: George had a neutral body as he sat at the front of his kennel when I approached. Once he saw me he quickly got up and allowed me to leash him. He walked on a tight leash to and from the runs but had a fast wagging tail and open mouth smile.

5/11/2026: George was walked on a loose leash to South B from South D. He was presenting with a wiggling body, ears up, close lip smile, soft eyes. As I was walking him to his new kennel, George would turn to look at me and wiggle his body towards me. I would start to scratch his bottom as he walked and he was very happy about the interaction.

5/12/2026: George was walked on a tight leash due to forward pulling on the leash and in multiple directions to and from the outside runs. He presented on his way out with a wiggling body, ears up, close lip smile, soft eyes. Did not mind me scratching his bottom on the way to the outside runs. He would give stare at other dogs and make and attempt to go near them but was redirected by the leash and treats. He did a good job of keeping his kennel clean overnight.

💔12 year old Gracie lost her home because owners “don’t have time anymore.”

After more than a decade of life, this senior cattle dog was walked into a shelter and left behind alongside 2 year old Marley (posted separately) like neither one meant nothing at all.

And the fear in her eyes is absolutely heartbreaking.

Her eyes are wide and bulging with panic as she tries to take in everything happening around her. She’s literally frozen with fear. The barking. The smell. The slamming kennel doors. The strangers. You can see how overwhelmed she is, like she’s desperately trying to understand why she’s here after spending 12 years believing she belonged somewhere.

The only information her owners gave?
She’s kid friendly.

Nothing about what she likes, her routines, or the life she lived before this. Just a senior dog discarded when she became inconvenient.

At her age, this environment is especially cruel.

Senior dogs shut down and get sick fast in places like this. The concrete floors are hard on their bodies. The stress weakens them physically and emotionally. Every day in a kennel feels heavier when you’re old, scared, and grieving the life you just lost.

Hoping someone will see past the gray on her face and realize she still deserves a family too.

After 12 years of loyalty, Gracie deserved comfort and security in her senior years..

Not heartbreak and a ☠️ sentence.
