Anyone have good advice for the 20s?

I'm 26 and have listened to yall and started investing in the stock market and reading more.

I'm graduating uni with a degree in psych.

I am taking swim classes to maximize my swim techniques

I still eat junk food but im trying to cut it. It's pretty hard. Overall healthy, no health issues

I guess now my focus should be my career path. I'm interested in law enforcement but the night shifts are so damn unappealin..i guess ill have to think it through on what I want to do with my life.

Perhaps can you give general career advice? Or personal stories where you had no idea what you wanted to do and something clicked?

smart move? is this a good game plan?

Mid 20s male, and graduating university this year. Over the years ive been saving up for a car because the transportation system here is atrocrious. But I have a bus pass provided by the uni so im taking advantage of it. I saved up 20k and im looking for a 2010-2012 honda civic. Since im 26 now, my insurance will be much cheaper and I live in a surburb area where there's few accidents and low theft area.

However, I recently switched tactic and instead I transferred 10k to my TFSA investment portfolio in WealthSimple (WS) and paid off my credit card debt (which was 500)

I'm keeping the rest of my savings in my HISA account and transferring all my chequing amount to my WS chequing account because there's 1.5% interest I can accumulate.

Now, that 20k was supposed to be for my car but I made this move instead. My portfolio will consist of major ETFs (XEQT for example) and energy stocks (CNQ and WCP). I'm keeping it strictly to two ETFs and 2 energy stocks just for simplicity and because i'm still learning a lot about the stock market.

If my plan is good, how much should I save up before investing on a car? I live at home so I don't have much bills. This is what my accounts are looking like rn:

Chequing WS: 500 (with 1.5% interest)

TFSA WS: 10k

Main bank chequing: 80$

Main bank CC: 0$

Main bank HISA: 10k

If anyone has suggestions etc let me know.

For added context, I work 2 part time jobs while I finish university.

Hedge vs Unhedge

Hi, can someone do a breakdown of hedge vs unhedge? I am a little confused. I am new to this, so pls explain in simple terms

Let's say I am a Canadian investor looking to buy a US stock. Say, I want X American stock, and now brings the topic of hedging vs unhedging.

I hear people say they'd like to keep it solely CAD due to simplicity, but wouldn't it be a good idea to expose yourself to different forgein currencies? Hedging is of course more expensive but Canada's market isn't big compared to US and others.

Or I hear you can simply convert it to CAD using a method called "gambit" in QT or others.

I am really confused about this. Which one should you do?

  1. Conver to CAD and buy US stock

  2. Buy US stock and choose unhedging

Is there a difference between 1 or 2?

Again: I am new to this, please explain in simple terms

Hi, so I'm currently a university student graduating in August 2026. I am currently enrolled in the summer semester studying full-time.

I don't have that much money but I have 20k saved up in my HISA account. I've been saving for 2-3 years ish, my goals are to buy my first car (like a 2010 honda civic).

I also have a WS account and contribute to a TFSA account investing in XEQT and VOO (so 100% equity). No bonds yet. I have 63k to max out but I only have a few hundred invested. I'm only going full in when I graduate and have a full-time job with respect to investing.

So, asides from buying my first car, idk what else to do with my money. Should I keep it growing in my HISA account? It's the first time I ever hit the big 20k in my bank account so that's a little accomplishment for me.

Had I not made this post my current plan is to keep saving up to 27k before buying my first cheap car. I'm not interested in fancy or new cars. Anywho, I want your opinions. I don't have much bills to pay either because I live at home but I do contribute to rent and I buy my own food/clothes/phone bill.

I also don't have credit card debt.

Hi im 26M. As a kid and up until now I never had acne or pimples or anything. However since 21 my skin hasn't been looking good, it looks pretty dull. I want to brighten it up. Not whiten, just look more alive. I don't have a skin routine either since i'm not suspectible to acne so I just wash my face in the morning.

Any advice?
