Big Don's Smoked Meats in Bayswater - anyone order recently ?

Never tried it before, but am keen to. Yes i know it's a process :)

The reason i am posting is there are currently only 2 google reviews for Big Don's Smoked Meats right now, so have they just moved shop ?

I just want to check that they are still active and open ?

The other reason i ask is right now on their website, it seems you can buy for this Saturday May 16th, and all i kept reading from previous posts they sell out in 5 minutes on Tuesday evening. It's now more than a day past Tuesday evening.

So if anyone has ordered recently, it would be appreciated to hear from you about it.

Thanks all

For an intermediate level shooter, is alternating between red dot and iron sights going to hinder progress ?

I consider myself a lower intermediate shooter. I shoot for fun and to improve myself steadily measured against myself. Not looking to win anything or compete too seriously.

I believe i shoot safely , that aspect is good. My static accuracy is good. I am now working on speeding everything up.

I have a CZ Shadow 2 orange with a Holosun 507 comp and a Canik TTI combat with just iron sights. I enjoy shooting both guns and shoot the Canik surprising well with irons (last match i got the second most amount of alphas amongst all shooters).

is alternating shooting one match with the CZ (and a red dot) then the next with the Canik (and irons) a bad idea ?

Should i put a dot on the Canik and go all in with dots ?

I kinda don't want to lose touch shooting irons as to me it feels more like 'pure shooting' whatever that may mean.

I should add, i also have Ace VR and switch between irons and red dots regularly when training with that.

In the snooker club video where Wu came on and chatted to Hendry after his win in the final, he mentioned Ronnie texting him inbetween sessions with advice on how to handle things.

It is a bit of a strange situation where one of England's greatest players, Ronnie is mentoring and closer to chinese players than the new crop of english players (there is however absolutely nothing wrong with this).

I recall past interviews with Ronnie where he was treated very well and welcomed into the homes of Ding and other chinese players whenever he played over in China, and i guess relationships flourished and Ronnie has helped Ding over the years.

Not the first chinese player i have heard talk highly of Ronnie and his support for them.

I know Murphy has been mentoring Stan so it good it is happening all over.

I shot my first IPSC match today with my new Canik TTI combat. It was awesome, not one issue ! and it is a much rarer gun in my country so got a lot of attention from other shooters in my squad.

Seen lots online about people having issues with the TTI Combat.

The fact is the TTI combat is the most race gun like of any Canik. You might get lucky and have absolutely no issues with the ammo you shoot straight out of the box.

But there is a chance you are going to have to tinker with the recoil spring and/or ammo and acknowledge there is a break in period of around 500-1000 rounds. Very similar to gas semi auto shotguns which require you to shoot hot loads for a while before they reliably cycle target loads.

So for my TTI combat here is my experience. My usual 9mm competition ammo is 124gr Federal Syntech. With the installed recoil spring, it was pretty bad, return to battery issues 7 out of 10 rounds. I then changed to the stronger green spring and with the same ammo, it was down to 2 issues out of 10 rounds, still not good enough. Then i changed to 150 gr Federal Syntech and it was down to 1 issue in 150 rounds, so pretty good. From here i knew it just needed more shooting. I used the same 150gr ammo in my match and had no issues (shot 140 rounds).

Many competition guns are like this. My CZ Shadow 2, when i mounted an optic, i had to change from a 13 pound to a 14 pound recoil spring and it then cycled perfectly. When i mounted an optic on my Glock, absolutely no issues (never had any malfunction with my Glock).

So to new TTI combat owners, if you do have cycling issues, just work through it and be patient. The end reward is an amazing gun which shoots great and looks the part.

I forgot to mention, i shot my IPSC match with iron sights on my Canik and my accuracy was better than using red dots on my other guns. I had pretty much all alphas (i don't push the speed aspect to my absolute limit).

Hi, this MR shooting sim looks very promising

The big question is will it be compatible with the Ace handsets ? All you need is controller orientation adjustment settings (X, Y, Z position and rotation) and a trigger adjustment setting.

The developer of Augmented Defender can help you with this (on Discord), it apparently isn't that hard to implement these settings.
