1 week post filling and still pain when chewing & cold.

Had a filling fall out on a pre molar and got in to see the dentist 2 days later “last Thursday”.

She did the filling and sent me on my way. Things were going ok until about 2 days ago. I started feeling some slight pain when eating like when food would line up with the filling perfectly and then a dull pain for about 30 mins afterwards.

Also I ate some ice cream last night and my tooth had a dull throb afterwards that lingered for hours until I took an Advil to sleep.

How long can this take and should I be worried? Tomorrow will be 1 week and is it normal to have discomfort and lingering soreness at this stage.

I’m trying hard to just wait it out. Any input?

Pre Molar Filling Pain 1 week post apointment

Had a pre molar filling come out last week that was in for about 2 years. I got in 2 days after it came out. Had a new filling put in.

I noticed that initially days 1-3 it was painful to chew over it “normal I read” like a quick zap when chewing over the filling area. Then I started getting this lingering pain after eating or drinking anything cold.

Tonight day 7 I had a little ice cream at about 9pm. Went to bed at 11pm and my tooth was still kind of throbbing slightly. It slowly dissipates but it hangs around sometimes for 1-3hrs after having even a cold glass of water.

Took a Tylenol tonight first night so far I thought I needed one. Could the nerve be damaged?

I get it being sensitive but it’s a week already. It kinda has this dull pain after anything remotely cold for like 1-3hrs.

Touro Dental School Implants?

I’m needed a first molar implant done after an extraction with bone graft done in late January.

I do have Anthem Dental Insurance and to my knowledge they cover little no implant procedure.

Would Touro Dental School perform the implant at a reduced price? What’s the process?

Any Putnam & Orange County Corrections Officers here?

Looking into both agencies as a possible option. I have 10 years of LE experience as a Peace Officer for NYS OMH.

Anyone have insight on forced overtime for these departments? Also do they work 8s or 12s.

Any feedback would be great. Thank you all.

DOT entry level positions feedback?

Contemplating getting back into NYS CS. I previously worked at NYS OMH for 10 years but stepped away to pursue a different path.

Needless to say I’m realizing that I should pickup where I left off in January so I can have some type of pension in the end.

How is DOT I see them constantly hiring. I don’t have a CDL only a Class C. I’d imagine the overtime can be brutal. Which is what I’m afraid of coming from an agency like OMH where they work you like a human slave.

Any feedback? Is it only in the winter the forced shifts? How are the summer months? I’d expect to get paid pretty poor but I think I can start at job rate being I have 10 years prior service at a higher pay grade and I will be reinstated.

I don’t mind being outdoors or hard work as long as I’m not exploited for forced labor 80hrs a week like OMH.

Very old Antique SXS Percussion Shotgun Inquiry & Story.

Picked this up last year from an old co-worker who does home clean outs and trash hauling on the side.

Evidently he acquired it from a property owner whose grandfather passed away in his mid 90s and this was more of a mantle piece in his 1850s farmhouse.

The young couple was doing renovations and having the house totally remodeled and gutted. I was absolutely shocked that they didn’t want to keep it as a family heirloom.

Personally I would love to find out some history on this shotgun. It has absolutely no makers/mfg marks or caliber stamps at all.

It has some ornamental metal around the trigger guard and bottom plate. It’s clearly missing both hammers and the percussion nipples where the caps would sit are beyond repair and seized. I’m guessing it has to be mid 1800s?

This firearm is most likely never fireable again due to the barrel rust & unknown barrel material as many of them were old Damascus wrapped to my knowledge.

Does anyone know or see any insight on a possible make or brand & caliber of this old gem?

It never ceases to amaze me the historical items people see as trash and are willing to throw away.

Moderate constant pain day after dental filling.

Had a filling that came out this week and I promptly put that temporary dental cement over it which helped me make it the two days to the dentist.

Yesterday my dentist did a new filling over the cavity. Everything was fine. Last night I flossed between the two teeth “carefully” and felt a little jolt when I removed the floss.

Fast forward to today I ate dinner around 7pm “pasta and small pieces of boneless chicken” and as I was chewing lightly I felt some occasional little jolts of pain.

Then drank a glass of semi cold water and from about 8pm to 10pm has a consistent dull to moderate toothache pain starting.

So now I’m wondering if it’s too early to tell what’s going on here? I never had a jolt of pain when eating or a toothache after a filling before.

I have an appointment Monday for a “general exam” and I’m terrified that this will be another root canal. I already had a failed one in January that led to an extraction from a different dentist.

Kind of really getting dental anxiety here. Any advise? I’m only 1 day post filling. But it seems odd.

Rebuilding the clutch on this old girl. Got the plates and clutch pack all back in. Put the casing on and could not get the clutch to disengage.

Tried adjusting less tension on the springs. Assembled again. Still not disengaging.

Any advice on this? Also one of the clutch plate spacers looked beveled. Is this normal or are they all supposed to be flat?

Any advice?

I am soon to be the third family member to switch over to progressive from Geico. Recently my policy went up 30$ more a month for no reason.

Let me say my record and policy is absolutely spotless. Been with Geico for 16 years and they just don’t care. Never had one claim. 1 ticket. 1 anything.

They get me for 330$ a month for two 10 year old payed off average vehicles. I also have Defensive drivers applied.

So my brother basically has the exact same policy with his wife with Geico just went to Progressive and is paying 204$ a month from Geicos 350$.

Same Injury/Property/Liability numbers. So he will be saving nearly 900$ in 6 months.

My ex just switched over also. Going from like 230$ to 140$ monthly for her little civic.

What in the world is the catch here? Is Geico management asleep at the wheel or delusional? I’m located in New York which I’m sure affects the rates but lord have mercy.

I got quoted 200~ month also from 330$. That’s drastic. Something is up here.

Recently lost my job based dental insurance and was forced to get on Medicaid for a bit. It’s basically next to impossible to find a dental provider that takes it.

Seems it’s only clinics or schools has anyone else had this experience or can suggest a decent dentist that accepts new patients on Emblem Medicaid?

Recently lost my position due to downsizing of my company and now I’m forced to utilize my accepted NY-Medicaid for at least until I get job based insurance back.

I’m looking to have some dental work done and I’m looking for feedback on any of you who have or are currently on Medicaid. I have Emblem “Adult Medicaid” New York.

Is it even possible to get adequate dental care while on this? Or will it just be ghetto clinics flooded with migrants and dentist that treat you like cattle.

I have been told horror stories. And that basically nobody accepts it. Any Feedback?

Let’s just say I have had quite the dental journey the past few months with a few problems as you can see on the photo.

About 2 days ago I started getting this sensation from my lower tooth circled in the photo. Now I was aware this tooth has quite some ware from “grinding” that I catch myself doing sometimes but never any sensation or pain until now.

I believe it might be getting down to the inner layer which is causing this discomfort now.

My question is what can be done about it to “de sensitize" the tooth? Im trying to be seen in the upcoming week. Can it be “built up” will they be forced to root canal it?

I also have NYS Medicaid which is another story but I looked it up and the office I’m going to takes that coverage.

Any insight on what can be done to A : relieve my discomfort. B possibly build up the tooth?

I am wearing a mouthful to sleep which is let’s say pretty tough to get use to.
