Figured out my stress acne after going internal instead of adding more products

Three months of a genuinely awful period at work and my skin became unrecognisable. Not just more breakouts, different breakouts. Faster, more inflamed, slower to heal. The kind that show up before a stressful event like they got the memo early.

The cortisol connection is real. Stress elevates cortisol, cortisol tells the sebaceous glands to produce more sebum, more sebum means more congestion and inflammation. It's a direct pathway, not a coincidence.

What shifted things for me was addressing the stress response internally. A few things that come up consistently in this space: ashwagandha for cortisol regulation is probably the most widely discussed, reishi mushroom has adaptogenic properties that support the stress response more broadly, and some acne supplements include 5-HTP specifically because of the cortisol connection. I use mindbodyskin by clearstem which has 5-HTP alongside DIM and B5, there's a version without it for anyone on SSRIs. Nutrafol skin is another one that comes up in hormonal acne conversations.

None of this is a replacement for dealing with what's causing the stress but for the skin side of it the internal route made a real difference for me.

Edit: No idea why was it removed, here’s me trying again. Thanks!

What are the key features to look for in a high-capacity concrete batching system?

I’ve been trying to understand what actually matters when choosing a high-capacity concrete batching system, and it’s honestly more technical than it looks at first glance. Like, I visited a ready-mix site recently where the whole setup broke down a couple hours just because the aggregate feeding system got inconsistent, and that got me thinking what specs actually prevent that kind of chaos.

Like, I visited a ready-mix site recently where the whole setup broke down a couple hours just because the aggregate feeding system got inconsistent, and that got me thinking what specs actually prevent that kind of chaos. From what I’ve seen, key things to look at include production capacity, automation level like PLC control, weighing accuracy, twin-shaft mixer efficiency, cement silo integration and dust control, plus how easy it is gonna be to maintain everything when you’re running nonstop pours.

I also ended up scrolling through listings on Alibaba just to compare setups, and lemme tell you it gets overwhelming fast because every supplier throws in different configs, like mixing speed, sensor options, and silo sizes all stacked together.

So now I’m kinda stuck wondering what actually matters most in real long-term operation is it more about automation precision, build quality, or just how well the system is balanced overall?

What tools are people using to contact influencers for collaborations at scale?

I'm trying to scale our outreach from maybe 40 creators a month to closer to 200. Our current process is a junior teammate sending individual emails which obviously doesn't survive that volume. I'm looking for what people actually use that doesn't make the messages feel like cold spam.

Bonus points if it handles reply management not just sending

Has anyone else lost their ability to eat spicy food on Mounjaro?

I used to put hot sauce on everything, and now one bite of something with a little heat gives me heartburn for hours. Is this a GLP-1 thing or just me getting old?

9th Grade Reading Help

My daughter will be in 9th grade next year. We found out a year ago that she was dyslexic. She was diagnosed with adhd in 5th grade. She makes good grades but has struggled this year and feels she is the dumbest person in her class. I live in a rural town, so I’m not sure there is anyone close that could tutor her. Her biggest struggle is spelling and reading. What are some things we could work on this summer? Is there an online program? Are there any websites that would be beneficial?

It turns out less is really more with skincare routine. Recommendations for mild cleansers?

Like most of us I've got oily and a kinda sensitive skin, and for the longest time I was layering several products thinking the more the better... well yeah, that didn’t go great for me for the longest of time.

I decided to simplify things recently when i saw someone mentioned it here, and my skin actually looks way better. Right now I’m using a couple products from Aveseena and it’s been good without irritation like with harsher products.

Only thing is I started with CeraVe as my cleanser, so now I’m wondering should I keep that in my routine or just stick fully to what’s already working?

Anyone with similar skin type tried Aveseena before? And what are you guys using for sensitive/oily skin that actually works?

Virginia beach weekend getaway from dc took half the time I expected and cost way less than I thought

Im seeing a lot of summer planning chatter so wanted to throw this out. We're based in dc and have been doing the typical full week obx trip every year which is fine but expensive and a logistical production with two kids. A friend suggested just doing a quick 3 day weekend in virginia beach instead and it was one of the best trips we've done

We left friday afternoon, drive was about 3.5 hours which was way better than 5+ to corolla. We got into sandbridge around 8pm, kids asleep by 9. Full saturday on the beach, sunday morning beach then boardwalk, drove home sunday evening. Total rental cost was less than a third of what we usually drop on a full obx week.

The place we found through sojourn was in sandbridge, quiet, had a grill and patio which was all we needed. Makes me wonder why we were overcomplicating this for years with big production obx trips when a quick virginia beach run handles 90% of what we want.

Im not saying obx isn't worth it for the big annual trip. But for the "we need to get out of dc and touch grass" weekends virginia beach is kind of perfect

Is plug-in chip tuning actually worth it in 2026?

So I was riding with a coworker last week and his "stock" diesel wagon pulled way harder than mine, and he casually mentioned he's using some external tuning box instead of a normal remap. Now my brain's been stuck on this.

I daily a 2018 GTI, mostly city with some highway trips, and I’d love a bit more punch without nuking fuel economy or risking warranty drama. While googling around late last night I kept seeing these smartphone-controlled piggyback chips that claim like +30% power and better mpg, including one called GÄN Tuning and a couple similar brands.

I get that a proper dyno tune is always the gold standard, but maybe I’m overthinking this for a mild street setup. Are these plug-in boxes actually safe for long-term use, or are they just running everything lean and spicy until something pops?

Anyone here run one for more than a year? How’s reliability, fuel consumption, and did your dealer ever notice or care? If you’d do it again, which brands would you trust and which ones would you avoid?

Any safe reverse image tools to check if my pics are being used on fake profiles?

So this started after a friend sent me a Tinder profile that was literally using one of my old IG selfies. Same pose, same background, everything. I don’t even have Tinder lol.

Now I’m kinda paranoid and want to check where my face is floating around. I know you can use Google Images and stuff, but that only seems to catch super obvious reposts. I’m more worried about people cropping, adding filters, changing backgrounds, etc. Maybe I’m overthinking this, but it freaked me out a bit.

While I was doom-scrolling last night I saw people mention facial search tools, and one of the names that came up was face2social.com in a random comment thread. I didn’t click it yet because I don’t wanna upload my face to some shady site without knowing if it’s safe or even useful.

Has anyone here actually used facial recognition type search tools to find fake accounts or reused pics? Are they accurate at all, and which ones would you trust with your own photos?

Got scammed in a “profit return” scheme after paying ₹29k — what legal options do we have in India?

A friend of mine got trapped in what now looks like an investment/profit scam.

It started with someone saying that if she paid a small amount, she would get a much bigger return/profit. First they asked for ₹1,000, then ₹4,000, and later kept asking for more money with different excuses. In total, around ₹29,000 has already been paid.

Now they are saying she will receive ₹1 lakh, but before that she has to pay another ₹39,000 because of gst issues and other charges. At this point it clearly sounds fraudulent.

She has the person’s phone number and payment records/chats. The scammer is still in contact.

What are the legal options available in India in this situation?

Should we file a cyber crime complaint or FIR directly?

Is there any chance of recovering the money?

Which evidence should be preserved?

Is it better to avoid further communication or continue chatting to collect proof?

Any serious advice would help.

I know she's at fault but currently we need advice

Also please tell which other communities to post this in
