Made a game in my blink-182 fansite that is made to rank the best pop punk band. 2 random bands of a list of over 100 are randomly selected to face off. Pick which one you like better and they get a win and their Elo rating goes up. Loose and rating goes down. There’s a full leaderboard and a snippet of the top song from each band (via Apple Music preview). It was a popular song in mid 2010s I believe - it was slower but on rock / alternative / pop stations. I believe it was about someone being sick or in hospital and having to say goodbye or pulling plug.

Let Her Go by Passenger is the closest vibe I could get to it but don’t think that’s it. Pretty sure this song was even slower

Edit: I believe there is a female in the song as well but mostly a male singing. And I am pretty confident was around 2011-2016 when it became a radio hit. Pretty sure it was a one hit or two hit wonder

Looking to get a first ski in since moving out here. I know it’s a little too far to tell but historically is Memorial Day worth making the trek up? Usually only ski once or twice a year so just need some snow and greens / blues to be content.

A game similar to what Zuckerberg created pre-Facebook. Essentially there’s a list of 129 pop punk / pop-punk adjacent bands (I was a little loose on genre) in a battle arena. The game will put 2 random bands side by side and you pick which one you like more. The winner’s ranking goes higher and the loser goes lower. It uses Elo ranking (similar to chess) so an underdog beating a heavy favorite means more than beating someone with an equal rating.

There’s a sample of the top song on Apple Music of each band under the 2 combatants so you can do a quick preview (or a deeper dive if you wish) for bands you are not familiar with. There’s also a leaderboard that shows the current live ranking of each band.

It’s hosted on blink-182 fan site (so for Blink fans there a battle of the best songs and then another separate battle for their side project songs). There’s also a fan battle area where you can upload a YouTube video of your own band and compete there (it’s beta right now so let me know if any issues).

For me it was Blink-182 and then second favorite after that was Sum 41. Honestly the American Pie soundtrack was incredible with all the pop punk bands they incorporated
