We need AI labels on Spotify and Apple Music

Since the start of 2026, the music world has changed
AI Music has now made up at least 28% up to 40% of daily uploads onto these platforms, and a decent chunk belongs to people pushing out AI music solely for profit over any form of creativity

With the addition of Spotify "carefully" labeling real musicians who do not use AI Generation, their requirements have left many musicians who don’t use any AI Generation and just below this requirement in the dust.

I feel that two additions to both of these platforms will let users / listeners who use these music platforms daily be able to fully understand in a complete transparent way on WHO they are listening to and WHAT they are listening to.

If there is enough evidence to show that the artist on this platform is AI Generated and not a real-life musician, it should have an "May Contain AI Generation" label on the artist profile itself, similar to how Spotify now has "Verified By Spotify" so the listener understands that the person behind the songs they are listening to with full transparency.
If there is enough evidence to show that the song on this platform is AI Generated, it should be listed next to the artist name on these platforms with "May Contain AI Generation", so if a listener finds the song on a "Mix" or a "Radio" they are listening to, they are able to view that the song could have AI Generation involved with it.
Considering that both of these platforms have allowed AI Generated Music to be put on the platform and have started to implement a crude method to verify musicians who don’t use AI at all, we need to at least have full transparency that the track was either made by a real human or made by an AI or an Hybrid AI/Human track

What are you currently obsessed with & playing on repeat for the feels?

Mine changes pretty often, but when I get hooked, I will play it on repeat all day long. I wanna know what song you are stuck on currently?

For me, that's "A Thousand Thoughts" by Liminal & JOSEPH (the ending song for The Sandman).
Has my heart in such a pretty chokehold.

Is there one that's just bringing all of your senses to life, in a happy, sad, or other way? I'm missing things I don't have to miss fully and ready to cry. Happy at the same time. This song has me a mess lol.

What about ya'll?

I need to steer my dad away from AI music... can someone give me band names that are real unlike this slop?

My dad recently discovered he likes "Viking Music", which is good for him and all, until I discovered the songs he's listening to are ALL AI generated. The bands in question he showed me, "IRON CHANT" and "Iron Ragnar Vibes", were 100% AI generated, and I knew that without even listening to their music.

He says he's against AI, and at first he didn't believe these "bands" were infact AI, but he continues to listen to this despite the fact, because for him, it seems to calm his anxiety. We have a radio we usually listen to, but the music from that leaves him bored. I'm not sure how to explain it myself, I'm just taking his word for it.

Would it be possible for anyone here to find something that can match his taste? He's willing to move away from them if I can find him a band that matches their theme, but our music tastes are very different, so I can't really do it myself.

To save you all the pain of listening to them, he likes the music for the sort of "chanting" aspect they have, the slower tempo than "most metal songs" (to which I believe he's referring to things like power metal or any other "fast" metal song), and the duet between the male and female "singers".

Any help would be appreciated, this is my first time posting here and I know this topic is likely a little controversial, so I wouldn't be suprised if this post gets deleted, and if that's the case, this will be my only attempt. I'm literally just taking a shot in the dark here.

Thanks!

Songs with a Female Lead Singer and Male Backup Singer(s)

I was just thinking about how often you hear female backup singers with a male lead singer but I couldn't think of a single example of the opposite. Please enlighten me.

Edit: Just thought of one.

Past the Mission by Tori Amos with Trent Reznor on backing vocals.

Guys help me create a playlist of best songs I can listen to while working.

I would like songs which are mostly music/EDM kind, so that I don't get distracted (I get distracted and start singing).

Although all types of songs are welcome.

TIA

Songs about an ex or partner not being sure about you

What it says on the box. Looking for songs about a partner who wavers, keeps one foot out the door, finds it too easy to walk away. My taste runs toward Prince and Roxy Music if that gives you a feel for the sound but I’m really open to anything across genres as long as that lyrical thread is there. Thanks!

80s songs that feel timeless?

Everybody Wants To Rule The World - Tears For Fears.

I've lived over 30 years but didn't hear the song until a few months ago how's that so.

Another example I can think of is a song called Moonlight Desires by Gowan.

Moonlight Desires I knew since January 2021 and that was a game changer. "They want me!" (They really don't...)

Also Michael Jackson songs are '80s songs that feel ahead of their time.

Looking for rock music with awkward, unsettling, and overly romantic/sexual lyricism

Hey y'all, I've been looking for some music lately that follows those themes listed in the title. This thought kinda stemmed from some songs I already have on my playlist, such as:

  • Naomi by Neutral Milk Hotel
  • Underwear by Pulp
  • Holy, Holy by Geordie Greep
  • Grass by XTC
  • Animal Nitrate by Suede

Any ideas are welcome!

Songs for a coming of age/moving away playlist

Basically title, I’m moving over 500kms away for university in a few months and hopefully never coming back. Gonna be a road trip for the drive there so I’m going to have lots of time to dissociate to good music and I’d love to listen to some new stuff with those sorts of vibes. Personally I enjoy a lot of genres, but I’m mostly into indie/midwest emo/folk/old classic country, so songs along those lines are great. That being said, don’t hold back! Any songs from other genres are cool too! Thanks a bunch :)

find a song?

Hi. I’m going through something right now, and my best friend cut me off because of something I did (totally my fault, but the way she went about it was awful and cruel), so I need something to cry to. I’m looking for a song that encapsulates the feeling of loving the memories you have with someone, but hating what they’ve turned into now. The closest I’ve gotten so far is “We Hug Now” By Sydney Rose. If anyone has any recommendations, that would be great. Thanks.

Narrative Albums with spoken word

I'm looking specifically for narrative albums that tell a story (preferably from beginning to end), and include spoken word along with the music, whether its from a narrator or an 'actor'. Albums I can listen to on a road trip that won't lull me to sleep like an audiobook. Albums along the lines of:

  • Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of War of the Worlds
  • Evelyn Evelyn by Evelyn Evelyn
  • Days of Future Passed by The Moody Blues
  • Albums by American Murder Song

Again, looking beyond the standard concept album we usually see listed, and specifically for spoken word/singing/music combinations in narrative form. Thanks!
