How likely is it that I can land a job at an MNC anytime soon?

Hello everyone I got laid off last december form a gaming startup where I had worked for 2.7 years . And then after that I picked up the first job I got which was contract based. Then last week i quit that job cause I was working even on holidays and now I got another job but again I don't know if i should take it since it's not an MNC, timings are going to be fucked again and i might get burnt out and quit again.

What is the chance i get into an MNC as a designer. I was looking at roles at EY. Can anyone give me a referral please. Do you think I should take up this next job or should I quit and do something that will land me a job at an MNC. I don't have enough experience, open to all help and feedback.

Hello Bangalore,

I'm 26 , i did my bachelor's in computer science engineering and then a master's in design from NID Bangalore. I worked at a startup for 2 years which ended up laying us off after AI. I am now looking for a new role , I've kept my experience here pretty vague because i want to move to different roles and I'm open to begin from scratch again .

So if anyone has an opportunity for a 3D designing , programming , adhd creative , shoot me a dm . I like play, creative thinking, I'm interested in science, I like teaching , I can solve some complex problems when I hyper focus. I like Sustainability and information design. Considering anything where my adhd will not lead to burnout.

Pettition to make me happy again. Adopt me some one with a cool company that needs a real , emotional , smart , dumb human!

I have made many depressed and elaborate descriptive job posts before ,thought id try a hopeful one for once and see what happens. 🫪🫪🫪🫪🫪🫪🫪🫪🫪🫪🫪🫪🫪🫪🫪🫪🫪🫪🫪🫪🫪🫪🫪🫪

I feel like an alien . Caring about things that no one else does.

Not being able to concentrate or make decisions.

I need help but no one wants to hear me out. They think I'm pretending.

How do I get a job if I'm always burnt out.

How can I love when I think I'm not good enough

Hello everyone , I was affected by a layoff last december and now I am trying to get back to work. I am unable to land roles in my core industry : Game Industry. So I am looking for internships in other domains where my skills will be transferable or I can train from the ground up. Do give me advice and feedback and if possible an actual internship.

I have done a bachelor's in computer science engineering, then pursued a master's in game design from NID , then I worked for a gaming company for 2 years as a technical game designer. So I can code ,design and execute.

I would love to be considered for other CS roles as well. Do let me know what's the way to go about this.

I just realised I'm suffering from the world's biggest adhd burnout. When I was in my previous job, where the pay was great and stuff I was still burned out and sad af and now when I'm unemployed and have free time also I'm sad af and when I found myself a part time role also i just want to quit but i also want to take care of myself. Fucked up thing is I actually made it pretty good through computer science engineering and a master's in game design from one of the best design colleges. I'm just severely burnt out that I need to look for some other jobs at this point.

Hello guys I am a designer from the gaming industry looking to widen my horizons and get into other fields. I wanted to know how can I land myself a traineeship or a entry level engineer role in other fields.

Cause i do have an undergraduate in computer science engineering as well as a master's in game design and 2+ years of solid design experience in the gaming industry.

Old message from january:

Hello everyone, I came to Bangalore for the first time in 2021. The city caught me by surprise. I didn't think I would get as attached to it as much as I have, the friends i've made , the openness and acceptance , the freedom to be me and being independent for the first time .Being part of the community, the parks, the hills , the food, the voluteer work, the music.Everything has meant a lot to me.

However I lost my job due to layoffs last December and now I'm running out of funds and might have to leave behind everything end of this month (Feb 29)and I don't want to. This is me trying to see if there's a opportunity somewhere.Cause It feels really scary and sad cause it feels like I'm losing my home. And I've been a Nomad all my life and i don't want to it all over again.

So im 26, i've worked as a game designer for the past 3 years and my skills include designing end to end gameplay and progression systems, level designing , rapid prototyping, game balancing , technical documentation, technical art(Shaders/Vfx/tools), AI NPC design.  Tech I know include game engines like unity and unreal engine(c# and visual scripting). I am also skilled in 2D and 3D art software , blender, maya, zbrush , adobe creative suite, substance painter. I have also done projects in AR/VR before. I can use AI tools for a faster workflow.I have a back ground in computer science Engineering and a master's in game design from NID.

I am open to any role involving these skillsets (Game designer, technical artist, AR/VR dev , Experience designer etc etc) I have and am open to learning anything new that would be required. Let me know if anyone out here has an opportunity for me . I would really appreciate it.

Peace out 🫡 . All the best for anyone else also dealing with a layoff, I'm hearing a lot of these happening.

Hello everyone , I did my undergraduate in computer science engineering and unfortunately after a 3 month gig as a AR/VR developer i took up a master's in game design from a well reputed college in my country without truly understanding what game design meant. I worked at a startup for 2 years as a game designer, at first it was really fun ,cause we just made whatever we want on unity ,but later it got to real game design and I was put to documentation work and I became an overworked churn machine. After 2.7 years I got laid off since the company's product didn't work out and they decided to make AI micro dramas instead of games.

Now it's been 4 months since the layoff , I have not been able to find a job. At first I was fairly confident but overtime i realised everything what I've been doing so far isn't real game design and real game design is thinking in systems and documentation which i royally suck at. Even with referrals I haven't been able to get past round 1 in interviews.

Now the thing is I'm pretty good at the technical art stuff , but I haven't been able to pivot my career into that. I'm losing my confidence day by day that I'll never get into a company again.

I was able to code and I am regretting not being a developer , ai has created a barrier over all entry level jobs.

My inability to make decisions is not helping at all. Which is also probably why i am not able to progress as a game designer.

Now I really need some advice, one thing to skill up in , and land a job anywhere in any sector , games or not. I want to feel like I can do the job so it has to be more technical in nature and less design , what are my options?

For context I'm 26, i've worked as a game designer for the past 3 years and my skills include designing end to end gameplay and progression systems, level designing , rapid prototyping, game balancing , technical documentation, technical art(Shaders/Vfx/tools), AI NPC design.

Tech I know include game engines like unity and unreal engine(c# and visual scripting). I am also skilled in 2D and 3D art software , blender, maya, zbrush , adobe creative suite, substance painter. I have also done projects in AR/VR before.

I can use AI tools for a faster workflow.I have a back ground in computer science Engineering and a master's in game design.

I have attended multiple interviews for game design the past 4 months , I have not been able to go past round 1 . I have also attended technical art interviews , I gotten till round 3 with those but still rejections.

Now I'm out of companies that I can apply to and have completely lost all my confidence in my skills

I only have 2 years of startup experience in this industry. I'm ready to skill up , apply for any other relevant roles in any other industry if it means I can get that one job opportunity.

What should I learn , I cannot pick one thing. Please help me get employed.

Any job that I can do is all I need, I'm not particular about the game design industry anymore.
