Google says it got smarter over the years, but I still see people talking about delayed notifications, apps sleeping too aggressively and random sync issues.

Compared to older Android versions, does it actually feel better now or not really? Or do you guys disable it completely these days?

If you don't use it, do you leave everything on Optimized or manually set important apps to Unrestricted, or use Restricted for certain apps etc..

Just curious..

I used to sell security alarms door to door, and I was really good at it..

If no one was home, I would just leave a brochure on the kitchen table.

Even after a clean install of Android 16, I’m getting system-wide sluggishness (scrolling and touch feel delayed across apps like Reddit and ChatGPT) plus noticeable battery drain, even during light use or idle. No obvious frame drops, it just feels less responsive overall.

Curious if others are seeing the same or if this is a known issue?
