does anyone else feel nostalgic for the version of their family that doesnt exist anymore?

sometimes i dont even feel nostalgic for one specific person or moment. its more like missing an entire period of life when everyone was younger together healthier closer or simply under the same roof. and its strange realizing you never notice those periods ending while youre living them

master bathroom plumbing has been an endless nightmare in our las vegas house

the master bathroom in our 1998 las vegas home has given us nothing but problems since we bought it. what started as a minor drip under the sink turned into recurring leaks from the shower valve and pipes behind the wall causing water damage to the ceiling below. i already tried patching it myself and called two other plumbers but the issues always came back within weeks.

i finally brought in plumbers and they did a proper job opening the wall replacing all the old corroded lines and valves. its been bone dry with excellent water pressure for the past six weeks.

anyone else fighting ongoing master bathroom plumbing issues in older vegas homes? when is it worth doing a full repipe instead of keep patching?

cheers for any input guys

Arizona workers comp lawyer worth it or nah?

So I’m in Arizona and got hurt at work a couple months ago (warehouse job, messed up my back lifting). I reported it right away and went to the doctor they sent me to, but now the insurance company is dragging their feet, acting like I’m exaggerating, and my checks are late or “under review” every other week.

My supervisor is suddenly “documenting performance issues” and hinting that “we might not have a spot for you if you can’t come back full duty soon.” I’m following doctor’s orders, but I’m scared I’ll get fired or they’ll lowball/deny the claim.

Everyone keeps telling me to talk to a workers comp attorney, but I’ve never hired a lawyer in my life. Is it actually worth it for an AZ work comp case, or is that overkill? What should I look for in a good one, and what are red flags? Also, does talking to a lawyer piss off the employer/insurer even more?

Would love to hear real experiences (good or bad) from people who went through this here in AZ.

booked only 4 days in iceland last september and had to extend my trip twice because i completely underestimated how much there was to do

i went to iceland last september thinking a short 4-day stopover would be plenty before heading to the uk. i figured id knock out the golden circle and a couple waterfalls and call it good. big mistake. the moment i got there i realized how spread out everything is and how fast the weather can kill your plans. i ended up extending my stay by 3 days and then another 2 because i was scrambling to actually see stuff.

i only booked a couple basic tours through guidetoiceland when i first planned it and figured id wing the rest. that backfired hard with the ice cave trips. i really wanted to do one but by the time i tried to add it most of the good ones were either sold out or the conditions had changed and they canceled a bunch of departures. had to rebook a different ice cave tour last minute and it cost more and messed up my whole schedule.

lesson learned, iceland needs way more time than you think especially if you want to do the glacier and ice cave stuff. anyone else get surprised by how fast things book up or change there?

How much did your renovation actually go over budget?

Trying to plan a fairly modest reno (kitchen + a bit of flooring), but I keep hearing that costs almost always end up higher than expected.

I’ve built in a buffer, but not sure if it’s enough.

For those who’ve done it recently in Australia, how close did you end up to your original budget?

I’m getting a gift for my boyfriend (24). He’s not into material stuff at all, more into experiences, little meaningful gestures, and things that feel personal. I was thinking something like planning a whole day around him (his favorite coffee, places, small surprises), or a box with things tied to our memories/inside jokes, but I feel like I can make it even more special.

What’s the most creative, personal gift you’ve given a guy that actually meant something and didn’t feel generic?

We've lived in our 3 bed 2 bath house in Wesley Chapel for the last 4 years. It's about 1,800 square feet with a nice backyard and the schools are solid. We updated the hvac last summer but the exterior paint is starting to peel from all the sun and rain.

The main reason we're selling is my job is moving us to north Carolina in about 6 weeks. We listed it with a realtor at 379k back in April and it's been sitting with only a handful of showings. The market around here feels way slower than it did even last year.

What would you do if you had to be out by mid June?

I've been working on my own clothing line for the last 8 months and finally have four simple unisex designs ready, two oversized tees, one hoodie, and one crewneck in neutral colors with minimal graphics. I want to keep the first run small at just 50-75 pieces per style so I don't end up stuck with a ton of inventory if things don't sell right away.

I found a Shopify clothing store that really shows how a clean one actually runs for new brands. They sell straight casual streetwear like dryblend tees for $39, organic hoodies, bomber jackets up to $123, and dad hats, all based on proven bestsellers with good fabric choices and super easy checkout. It's set up to help people like me grow our own lines with solid pricing and that "grow your business with us" vibe.

Now I'm trying to lock in the real numbers before I pull the trigger on production. Anyone else start this small on Shopify and what actually moved first for you?

Watching people fail at the boat ramp is basically a free reality show. What's the worst meltdown or brain dead move you've seen firsthand? Bonus points if it ended with someone swimming for their trailer.

Im an IT Manager for a mid-sized company (250 employees, mostly remote). our HR team got budget for an employee recognition platform. they want something to automate gift cards, swag, and anniversary rewards.they came to me with three options. two are big names everyone knows. one is a smaller platform that looks flexible but I’ve never heard of it.

my job is to figure out can this thing integrate without breaking everything else? Is our data safe? and how much work will this be for my team to maintain?API basics- does it have a real API or just a CSV import? HR wants automatic triggers from our HRIS (we use BambooHR) for work anniversaries and birthdays. if I have to write middleware or use Zapier for everything, that’s a red flag.

Security: Do they have SOC2 or something similar? what happens if we cancel the contract - do we get a data export? I don’t want to explain to leadership why past gift card redemptions are locked in a vendor’s database forever.

Authentication: SAML or Okta integration is a must. I’m not creating separate logins for 250 people and dealing with password reset tickets.

User provisioning: can I sync our employee list automatically? when someone leaves or changes roles, their access should disappear without me manually removing them.

I’ve looked at their API docs and they seem complete, but I don’t want to miss something basic that becomes a problem later. How do you evaluate a smaller vendor’s stability when they’re not a household name?not looking for sales pitches. want a checklist from people who already went through this. Thanks guys!

i’ve been running tiktok ads for a $29 product and getting around 2.1% ctr with cpc ~0.70, but literally 0 sales after ~120 clicks, starting to feel like the issue isn’t the ads but the product page itself

been looking into pagepilot to quickly rebuild the page and test a different structure, but not sure if that’s the right move yet. has anyone fixed this kind of gap before? what actually made the difference for you? any tips?

Nothing dramatic, no big life win. Just finally crashed at a reasonable hour and woke up actually rested. Forgot how good normal feels. Anyone else have one of those random nights where your brain just decides to be nice to you?

I’ve been doing adult ballet and contemporary for a couple of years now and I’ve tried quite a few different leotard brands along the way. Some were cute but the fabric was thin and rode up constantly, others felt okay but pilled after a few washes.

I’ve settled on a few from Energetiks that I keep going back to. The material is soft but still supportive, they don’t lose their shape easily, and they’re honestly some of the most comfortable ones I’ve worn for long classes.

What leotard brands do you guys like best? I’m always looking for new ones that actually feel good and last more than a few months.

I'm selling a 3-bed, 2-bath place, around 1,600 sq ft and we're honestly just trying to get it done quickly. It's in decent shape like nothing falling apart, just needs those typical minor updates. But we really don't want to deal with a months-long listing process or endless showings.

So I'm trying to figure out if it's better to just price it super low with a regular agent or if those cash buyer groups are actually worth dealing with. I also looked at an agency the turner home team since they're local and seem to do direct cash sales pretty quickly, which sounds way less stressful than the usual back-and-forth.

idk, i just want a simple exit without the buyer's bank or inspector finding a million things to complain about. So if you've gone the cash offer route or found a better shortcut, let me know what worked for you.
