This may be a hot take and please don’t attack me but I don’t like Elise all that much. Her audacity to sleep around with 4 men and get jealous when they even look in another girls direction? And then when she’s mated she expects these men to still want her and refuses to let them move on. Maybe the Reverse harem thing just isn’t for me cause this is my first experience with it. I love all the kings and I don’t hate Elise as a whole I just think my real life morals aren’t letting me enjoy this series to its full extent.

Edit to add: I also hate that she salutes everyone it just feels cringey to me

I cannot handle anything else, these books are sooo long with too much nothing and it’s like just end it already!!!!

I enjoy it because I like the immersion but I just can’t with Geraldine and Xavier’s actors. Bridget did such an amazing job as Geraldine. I feel like the graphic audio team didn’t consult the authors at all because Geraldine just doesn’t work without the accent. And Xavier is a 17/18 year old boy who sounds 35.

i need to gush and scream about how HILARIOUS these are....all of the voices....GERALDINE. all of the hashtags. #downwiththepoo !!!!!!

at first all of the guys voices were so cringe for me. the only dudes voice that actually sounded hot to me was Max (hi xaden :P) . also when Orion gets angry the voice actors delivery just makes me cackle so freaking hard. the sound effects. this isn't my first GA (i listened to half of/physically read from blood and ash , did GA for all of fourth wing).

so yes...when i say they are so good....i am basically saying that they are so cringey that they are amazing. i was really struggling throughout the first book, and ALMOST dropped it...i had also seen VASTLY contrasting reviews lol. i just want to say that if you are struggling please press on because the amount of sheer J O Y i am experiencing listening to these (just started #4) makes me want to shout from the rooftops!!! i dont know anyone else IRL that even knows this series...so i just had to gush here. i feel like im not even allowed to be having so much fun???? ANYWAYS

As someone who followed the emotionally damaging order, the concept of elysian mates has been pushed around a lot. So when they started hinting in the book that Darius and Tory might be one I had a small thought that, hmm I wonder if tory would accept the bond. I don't think so. It would make quite good world building and plot if we can explore the concept of star crossed but....surely they won't do that to the fmc...

I read ZA 1-8 and now doing 8.5 (no I haven’t read any of the other novellas nor am I really interested in them or the RB books either). I wasn’t a fan of the writing and the pace from the get-go but was seriously intrigued with the themes and general world of the series, so I kept going. After finishing ZA 8, I’m feeling kinda over it. While I do love the characters and their journeys and development, I’m pretty annoyed with like 80% of the rest of it.

Tory’s and Darcy’s decisions (mostly Tory’s even though she’s my favorite) frustrate me; there are so many grammatical errors and run-on sentences; the long and overly emotional monologues from almost everyone (especially the male characters) are boring and not realistic; the constant hints to this prophecy and the broken promise though it’s not explored AT ALL until the very end of ZA 8… I could go on about it all, but at this point I’m just determined to finish this main series just to at least some validation from the ending. Not to mention bringing this star into a corporeal form imitating the twins and locking them away is so cliche. It feels like a desperate attempt to introduce another villain to this story that’s not needed to push them along in this war.

I just started ZA 8.5 and while it’s a fresh POV getting Hail’s perspectives from the veil, I can’t help but wonder if it’s actually worth reading this one. I think it’s mostly meant to just tug on the heart strings a little bit longer.

I’ve read through a few posts in this thread avoiding potential spoilers for ZA 9 and everyone seems to absolutely love this series and are obsessed with it. I would like to hear some opinions though, to help me get through this one at least.

I'm almost at the end of The Reckoning now and I've seen many people say to read the ruthless boys series next but I have a few doubts about it, such as I really don't want to leave the main series as I'm really enjoying it, and the other thing is I'm really not a fan of reverse harems, I really prefer the fmc to end up with one guy so thats a bit off putting. Will I be missing out on key plot points or anything if I just skip Ruthless Boys?

I just finished the reckoning. PHOENIX???

The entire time reading ruthless boys, after Gabriel went into the cave and had that whole thing with the Phoenix to combat against kings power. I was CONVINCED for the rest of that series he was going to emerge as a Phoenix. That he wasn't actually a harpy. So much so I was shocked that it didn't happen in the last book when he and Ryder got stuck under all that rubble.

IT WAS THE GIRLS!!?? I can't even do words right now, I'm starting the next one immediately!

Also, Seth is annoying the hell out of me, and stressing me out beyond. I think he's going to figure out lance and blue in the next book.

Tori is kinda baffling to me right now. She's so angry at Darius, which I get it, but also. She should have the Intelligence to realize, especially cus she saw it in him multiple times, that Darius didn't want this to happen to her. And he was LITERALLY in the process of reaching her when they brought out xavier. As someone who would do anything to save Darcy, she should know Darius would do the same for Xavier. I get being upset, but vowing to make him sorry after he's apologizing and clearly wanted to help her and wanted nothing to do with this, is just like.... SERIOUSLY?

The shadows??? Does this mean they are all "shadow daddies" now??? Do they have nymph in them now?? I'm simply DYING!

I really really appreciate how the authors lean into the orders of the characters, and specifically Gabriel and his love of twigs and nests.

Just finished the 8th book and Leon has been building a nest to distract his visions, it's just too hilarious how this would-be-serious character is obsessed with twigs!

Or specifically this scene at the end of that book - it had me cracking up 🤣

Orion sat beside me, but Gabriel seemed distracted by something, picking up a stick that was resting against the wall by the fireplace. “Oooh, look at that,” he cooed, cocking his head to one side as he examined it. “That’s a real nice stick. The grain is just perfect. And look at those nodules…” He ran his fingers over them then tucked the thing into his waistband possessively before moving to sit on my other side. “Got yourself a nice little stick, did ya?” I questioned teasingly. “Yes, and I’m going to give it to my wife when we get back to the rebels,” he announced, puffing out his chest. “She’ll love that, brother,” Orion said encouragingly, neither of them seeming to think Gabriel’s stick was amusing. Or cute. And it was definitely cute.

I relate to her the most and love orion and Darcy together quite a bit. Aaaaand I just need to know if they are endgame or not cause I am getting really invested in this ship.

And I want to know if there's any chance they are not cause I need to prepare myself for that roller coaster 😭

I'm sooooooo thankful that I'm able to immediately go into ZA5 because if I would've had to sit here thinking that >!Lance was dead!< I would've been a mess. My soul was hurting for those 5 minutes in-between books 😭😭😭
