So about two months ago, I got Zelle just $1500 from a random person. When it first happened, I looked into it a little bit, but I didn’t look at how it could be a scam. Since I didn’t realize it could be a scam, I have already spent $500 of it. Am I screwed since it’ll probably be pulled back? What can I do now?

My roommate sent me money for rent today, and it says completed on her end but I don’t have the money yet. Called my bank (Chase) and they said there’s a known issue with Zelle right now and there’s basically nothing they can do and didn’t really give me a straightforward answer about what’s going on. Anyone got advice or how I can get this money into my account??

EDIT: just got the money about an hour after posting this, which was about 2 hours after the transfer was initiated. fuck these banks for not notifying anyone of this but good luck everyone

Random person sending money

I keep receiving a text message from a genuine Wells Fargo number, saying someone keeps sending me money through Zelle. I don’t have a Wells Fargo account, or any bank that uses Zelle for that matter. How can someone be sending me money through Zelle if I don’t have any accounts that have Zelle? I tried to make a Wells Fargo account but they have a random phone number tied to my social security number? Am I having my identity stolen?

Reverse a Zelle Transaction

Is there anyway to reverse or dispute a Zelle action? I sent some money to a person, but they never received it despite having a confirmation on my end with an email receipt and on my mobile banking. They’re now refusing to perform the job I’m paying them for, and I’m hoping to reverse/dispute it.

Name and email address attached to wrong phone number?

My son’s father was sending me cash for an upcoming field trip for our child. He used my email address. First name last name at gmail, very simple. He confirmed my first name, last name and email on the Zelle account. Once the funds were sent, an unrecognized phone number popped up. This is not the phone number attached to my current Zelle account that I use quite frequently. How is it possible for my name and email to be attached to that old phone number? Why would Zelle send funds to an old number instead of my current number, which is entirely updated with my current info?

How the heck do I find a recipient's 'Zelle Tag'?

I have been sending this recipient funds from US Bank, which only needed an email address and mobile number, in addition to their name. However, I want to set them up at Chase, and their system is asking for my recipient's "Zelle Tag".

What the heck is a Zelle Tag? My recipient only sees the money appear in her account and has no idea what Zelle even is. She does not have a Zelle profile and has never set it up or used it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Can I transfer money using Zelle when I am outside the U.S?

Will be traveling outside the U.S this summer, but I will subleasing my room over the summer. The sublease is betwen the tenents, so I would then need to transfer the money to the landlord. Would it work if I'm physically outside the country?

So I'm selling products and a customer wanted to buy something from me. They asked if they can zelle me the payment, I said sure. So they tried sending me $15 because that's how much the product cost and I gave them the correct phone number for my zelle account and everything but they claimed that they sent it but I still never got a notification that it was received and I literally checked my account and still didn't see it. They asked me If I received it and I said no and they said can you check again and I did and I still didn't see anything. So they asked maybe try sending it to my email, so I gave my email for them to try again to send it to me and still I couldn't see the money at all. I had checked my spam folder in my emails and saw this message and I kind of thought it was fishy so I'm not too sure if this is a scam or not. I've never had issues with zelle. People have zelled me bigger amounts of money with no problem so I find this to be a little weird. What do you guys think?

Can anyone tell me why when I sent my rent on Saturday May 2nd through Zelle on my Chase account, that I got a text from my landlord yesterday that the money still was pending on his end? He could see that I sent the money but it wasn’t available for him to transfer. I’ve been sending him money through Zelle for almost a year and never had this problem. I’ve talked to Chase and he’s talk to him bank, pretty much both say no holds on either end. The money has been taken from my account and cleared and the Zelle went through.

I have a need to set up a recurring payment to someone and Zelle appears to be the right solution EXCEPT apparently you can only use it via participating financial institutions' mobile apps. I don't really want financial mobile apps on my phone so I'd very much prefer to manage this recurring payment via my institution's website but it doesn't appear that's possible anywhere I've checked. I'm puzzled why any bank that supports Zelle would only do so via a mobile app.

FWIW, this would be my first (and most likely only) use of Zelle.

I sold something on Marketplace and the guy sent me the money but before I could confirm it on my end, my phone died (I know dumb of me). He scanned my QR code so I know it was my account, and I saw his Zelle confirmed he sent it.

When I checked my phone 15 min later, the money is nowhere in my Zelle/bank. He even sent me his screenshots confirming the Zelle payment. But he did send a 2nd screenshot showing the payment is pending in his credit union.

So maybe it just takes time to process? I've done tons of Zelle transactions and never had this issue so just wondering if anyone knows what's happening?

I am moving soon and will be paying rent to the landlord (its a townhome). My roommate had a proper limit to pay the proper rebt amount, but once he sent the security deposit it then decreased to $500/day or $1K a week.

I tried calling my bank to increase my transfer limit and they said theres nothing they can do. Does anyone have any insight on how to fix this?

Recently my dad sent a zelle payment to reimburse me for rent. The issue is I haven't had a bank account associated with zelle for roughly 3 years, but it still withdrew from his account.

Transaction history shows recipient account number that does not match any of my accounts, current or closed.

I realize this isn't necessarily directly related to zelle, but seemed like a good place to start. Has anyone had a similar experience, or have recommendations on how to identify possible identity theft/accounts opened in my name?
