1/5 Vinyl test pressing snapped in half by postal worker who forced it into my small mail box.
This is a test pressing from a band I love, there are only 5 of these in existence and now 1/5 is destroyed. Not a crazy valuable item, but special to me. No insurance since it’d been shipped it to me via media mail, so I can’t make a claim. The packaging was typical of a small 7” vinyl, regular cardboard 7” vinyl mailer. I receive many 7”-12” records in the mail each month and they have never arrived completely snapped like this before. Nothing can be done, I talked to 3 different departments and the postmaster. I can’t believe they didn’t want to take 3 steps to the left to put it in the box meant for packages, leaving a key in my mailbox, like they usually do.. I was lucky enough to chat with the seller and purchase another 1/5 and have it mailed in a larger box, but now I’ve paid double at this point. How can there be no consequences for this postal worker for this? It’s not the first time they have shoved a 7” into my tiny mailbox (I could’t remove it, I had to cut the cardboard box open from inside the mailbox) but it is the first one to snap it completely in half to put it in.
